TFW2005.com members Boardwise and Sinestro have spotted some multi-lingual packaged Transformers Animated toys in Forbidden Planet in the UK. The figures, Lugnut, Grimlock and Blitzwing, are from Wave 3 of Transformers Animated.
Some Wave 2 figures, Blackarachnia and Ratchet have previously been spotted in some stores, and as Forbidden Planet is an import store, who occasionally stock UK products, these could turn out to be imports (possibly from Canada?) or pre-released European toys. Toys R US are known for releasing toys before their official release date (something confirmed to us by Hasbro), so it could be that Forbidden Planet did indeed purchase these figures from Hasbro UK.
For the moment we suggest that this story is treated as an import sighting, though we plan to try and speak to Hasbro next week to see what we can find out.

TakaraTomy have told the Reuters newsagency of their post-merger plans which include plans to double their operating profit margin to ten per cent in the year
ending March 2011 from 5.3 per cent last business year, in part by reducing the number of products. Other plans include
the move of the company’s manufacturing base from China to Vietnam,
Thailand and Indonesia to reduce costs and improve quality.
Kantaro Tomiyama, chief executive and president of the company told Reuters: "Following the merger we underwent a period of some internal confusion. But things have stabilised and we’ll be more prepared in a few years time for further growth..... With a good procurement and marketing strategy, they can easily achieve
double-digit profitability. But I think we should be able to do that,
making full use of our merger benefits.".
Whether moving their factories out of China will see a reduction or increase in thhe amount of toys leaked from the factories, only time will tell.

The accident stalled filming on the Transformers sequel, but co-star Duhamel, who is in constant contact with LaBeouf, insists his pal will be OK. The actor tells HollyScoop.com, "He is at his best. Shia is doing just fine. He's doing great."

TFWorld2005 have picked up on a story from The Globe and Mail (a Canadian newspaper), that Canadian Customs have performed a u-turn on the rules which banned the import of Transformers Masterpiece Megatron due to it's realistic look. The Customs report states that due to the oversized nature of the figure it could not be misinterpreted as a replica gun and therefore can be imported into the country.
