Reuters and the Hollywood Reporter are running the following press release regarding the sales of the Transformers Movie DVD in the US.
LOS ANGELES (Hollywood Reporter) -
Robots rule -- again.
Showing remarkable staying power, the "Transformers" DVD
led the national sales and rental charts for a second
consecutive week Wednesday.
"Transformers" beat back a strong challenge on the Nielsen
VideoScan First Alert sales chart from "Meet the Robinsons,"
which debuted at No. 2 during the week ended October 28.
Two other new releases finished third and fourth,
respectively: "Mr. Brooks" and "Hostel: Part II." "The Jungle
Book" remained at No. 5.
HBO's "The Sopranos: Season 6: Part 2," the final
installment in the mob drama's hugely successful initial DVD
run, bowed at No. 8 on the sales chart.
On Home Media Magazine's rental chart, "Transformers"
posted a revenue drop of just 14% from the previous week to
remain at No. 1 with $8.6 million. "Mr. Brooks" bowed at No. 2
with rental earnings of $7.4 million, while "Meet the
Robinsons" came in at No. 3 with $6.5 million.
A trio of new releases topped the Blu-ray Disc sales chart
for the week, led by "Robinsons" at No. 1, followed by "Brooks"
and "Hostel." On the HD DVD sales chart, "Transformers"
remained at No. 1 for the second consecutive week, while NBC's
"Heroes: Season 1" was No. 2 after two months in the market.

The BBFC completed their video rating of the Transformers Movie on Friday 19th October, giving the film a 12 rating. For those wondering about the length of the film, its a whole 2 seconds longer than the cinema rating.

The Allspark have already started to detail the Easter Eggs on the Transformers DVD, which went on sale yesterday in the US.
On Disc 2 of the Special Edition here are 3 Easter Eggs found thus far.
- In "OUR WORLD" push the Down key on "I FIGHT GIANT ROBOTS" to access an Easter Egg.
- In "THEIR WAR" push the Left key on "INSIDE THE ALLSPARK" to access another Easter Egg.
- In "MORE THAN MEETS THE EYE" push the Up key on "FROM SCRIPT TO SAND: THE SCORPONOK DESERT ATTACK"
- In "TRAILERS" push the Right key on "THEATRICAL TRAILER 4"

Thanks to TheTransformers.net for pointing out the BBFC rating page for the Transformers 2-disc boxset. The page lists previously unannounced features, including the 10 deleted scenes which are included in the IMAX showing.
The inclusion of the features goes against previous reports from Michael Bay regarding the DVD and IMAX footage.

Last friday, NTFA reported that The Scandinavian DVD release of the live action Transformers movie has been set as December 4th. The DVD will include Danish, Swedish, Norwegian and Finnish subtitles and is available for pre-orders already by now.

Paramount Home Entertainment will support the home video debut of
TRANSFORMERS with one of the biggest media campaigns in the division's
history. The multi-million dollar blitz will include television,
print, radio and online advertising reaching a four quadrant audience.
The expansive campaign also will include a viral marketing program in
which fans can go online to customize a message for their friends from
OPTIMUS PRIME and send it via telephone or email. In addition, an
array of high-impact displays will be deployed to retail locations
across the country. Promotional partners including Chevrolet and
Hostess will also extend the TRANSFORMERS message to millions of
people.
Each TRANSFORMERS DVD will include an insert alerting consumers to
Chevrolet's "The Bumblebee Camaro Sweepstakes". Beginning October 17,
2007, fans can enter to win one of three customized Chevy Camaro cars
styled after the TRANSFORMERS AUTOBOT BUMBLEBEE at chevy.com/camaro.
The sweepstakes also will be promoted with a wide-reaching television,
print and online advertising campaign that will further extend the DVD

This October, Hostess, the maker of America's most iconic snack
cakes, will be launching a national consumer promotion on
approximately 17 million TRANSFORMERS themed packages at convenience

SuperHeroHype has posted the official press release from Paramount Home Entertainment regarding the arrival of the DVD and HD-DVD versions of the movie on October 16th. Three versions will be released: a standard 1-disc DVD, a special edition 2-disc DVD, and a 2-dics HD-DVD. The press release provides information regarding the extras on each version.

Nelson, site admin of Michael Bay's blog, Shoot for the Edit,
updated his site confirming some information regarding the Transformers Movie DVD.
The Transformers DVD...when does it come out you ask. What's it
gonna have? What I can tell you is this: there will be 2 versions:
1- A regular version with no extras (just a director commentary).
2.- A multi-disc version with the movie w/ director's commentary and additional disc(s) with tons of extra stuff.
Transformers will also be available on HD-DVD and Blu-ray formats.
