TakaraTomy and Sony announce deal for Playstation Figure

It looks like the "Device Labels" are well and truely returning as TakaraTomy and Sony have announced that they are teaming up to release Transformers figures. The line-up will start with Convoy (Optimus Prime) turning into the Playstation 1 console with the figure set to battle it out against "Megadrive" Megatron. The deal is under the Tomy Arts brand with Tomy also releasing 1/6th scale PS1, PS2, PS3 and PS4 minatures as a part of the 20th anniversary of the Playstation.

The figure, which will be shown at the Summer Wonder Festival this weekend in Japan, stands at 19cm tall and is due for release in early 2015

Sony Wonder closing it's doors

TV Shows on DVD.com has a report that SonyWonder, the childrens' audio and video division of Sony, is closing it's door. Sony Wonder released the 20th Anniversary Transformers Movie DVD and were planning new version of the Transformers Generation One DVD Boxsets.

Children's audio and video label Sony Wonder...will soon be history. Sources say parent company Sony BMG Music Entertainment is shuttering the label to focus on its core music business.

Sony Transformers: The Movie 20th Anniversary DVD - Easter Eggs

Thanks to The Allspark and TFans (TFormers message board), the first Easter Egg from the new Transformers: The Movie DVD has been reveiled.

"At the title screen, make sure the top option (bonus features) is selected, then push your left arrow button on your DVD remote twice, which will highlight the bottom option (Play) in the menu, then it will highlight the faction symbol on the title screen (It switches from Autobot to Deciepticon). Pushing 'enter' on your remote while the faction symbol is highlighted will start the Easter Egg.

Sony's 20th Anniversary Transformers The Movie DVD images / review

TFWorld 2005, who help out on several of the features on Sony's Transformers The Movie re-release, have images and a short review of the disk on their message board.

It sounds like quiet a nice set, but it still begs the question, if you already have the mulitple copies which have been released, should you get this one?

Sony to release Transformers: Series 1

Seibertron are reporting that the upcoming Sony re-release of Transformers: The movie contains a trailer for Transformers Season 1, to be released in 2007 by Sony BMG. How well this will sell, considering Rhino released the series some time ago, is questionable.
