Takara-Tomy are continuing their partnership with A Bathing Ape (BAPE) with a January release of a new redeco of the MP-10 mold called “MP-10K Convoy Black Camo Version“. The figure is a black and grey Masterpiece Optimus Prime and is almost a "sleep mode" version of MP-10.  BAPE Transformers crossover merchandise are alwaysy limited editions with drawings taking place on January 2nd at 9:30 am in various Japanese BAPE stores. Robot Kingdom have posted some images of the just released Transformers-Evangelion cross-overr MP-10 Optimus Prime repaint onto their Facebook page. In a follow-up to the story we published regarding Masterpiece Optimus Prime being released at Amazon UK a string of posts aimed at Hasbro UKs wall including this one by Chris Barrett, Hasbro UK replied stating that "Hi Chris, we can confirm that the Masterpiece Optimus Prime IS exclsuive to Toys R Us in the UK. If you have found it on Amazon, it must be via an international reseller using their marketplace. We have just done a quick search, and can only find the Tomy Takara line at £215, so maybe you got a lucky break!". 

Chris then responded with "No i was told that basicly, TRU dont know how to sell it has gone on a firesale. i spoke to someone from amazon via phone and long story short its from them not an external seller", which lead to Hasbro UKs come back of "Hello Chris, contrary to the info you have received elsewhere, we have NOT shipped any stock to Amazon UK. The MP Optimus Prime will appear in Toys R Us stores at some point soon.".

The original listing, which can be found here, is now listed as being out-of-stock with an unknown restock date but the figure is the number 1 selling toy on Amazon.co.uk.

Update 10:33am: Hasbro Inc have replied to another post over on Facebook by Hector Hanslon after we replied pointing then in the direction of the actual listing on Amazon UK and posted the following response:

"Hello Hector, we are investigating this issue and will confirm the situation to fans as soon as we are able to. We can confirm that we have NOT shipped any stock to Amazon at this point in time. Please bear with us while we investigate the situation and find the right solution."

Great news for UK Transformers fans who, like us, have not yet picked up a MP-10 Masterpiece Optimus Prime as Hasbro UK have confirmed on their Facebook page that the figure has now arrived within the UK and will go on sale in Toys R Us stores over the coming weeks.  Their exact post was "Hi Guys, we're pleased to say that stock arrived in the UK last week. You should see it in Toys R Us stores in the next few weeks. Please keep in touch with your local store to understand their stock plans."

TRU.com are now listing the eagerly-anticipated MP Optimus Prime for pre-order. Priced at $99.99 and scheduled for release on 15th October, it has free shipping within the US. Unfortunately, there is no option to ship internationally.

The colour looks a little brighter than the Japanese original

YouTuber masainjapan2008 has posted videos from the International Tokyo Toy Show event that unveiled the Masterpiece MP-10 "new" Convoy figure.  During the unveiling the designers comments on how they really want to make a Masterpiece Bruticus figure!! Though this is wishful thinking by the designers at this stage it is also something screaming out for an international online petition.  If enough fans within Japan and the rest of the world want it, then it could happen.  You can watch the videos below.

Thanks to Kapow Toys the first images of Transformers Masterpiece MP-10 Convoy have now surfaced (on their shops's site).  The figure is said to include.

• Smaller and in scale with Masterpiece Rodimus Convoy
• Transforming gun that fits in back compartment
• In-scale Spike figure
• Energon Axe
• Trailer with Repair Bay Bot and Roller
• More Animated look, less kibble
• Chest opens, Matrix of leadership visible

MP-10 (Convoy) comes with a human figure that can fit into the driver seat.  It is a new mold, smaller figure/trailer than MP-04, but more Japan animate look!

That was the news that Robot Kingdom has posted on it's listing page for the upcoming Transformers Masterpiece MP-10 Convoy figure.

Site sponsor, BigBadToyStore, have posted a new product listing for MP-10 with the following description:

We've just received the initial information from Japan regarding the long awaited MP-10 Masterpiece figure. No image or name was released yet, but we do have pricing and release information. The information states this is a 'New' figure, so we do not expect any repaints of prior releases. Stay tuned for images and further information, we will update the listing as we receive info.­

­This was followed up by ­TFW2005 board member Sidecutter posting "We have received from Takara the information about the next Transformers Master Piece. They called it in Japanese New but the offer specify that the name maybe change in the future.  There are 2 pcs per case. Retail of YEN22,000 in japan. Delivery in September 2011." They also posted the following placeholder image from the Takara product cata­logue which reads as "Transformer New".

No other information is available at this time, though it is quite possible that this could turn out to just be some Transformers Dark of the Moon figures re-brand.
