In an interview with Rolling Stone Michael Bay confirms that he will be returning as the Director for Transformers 5. The interview, also reveals details of a concept scene for the next movie.
“Between his producing duties and directorial work, Bay usually has a half-dozen projects going at once. Right now, in addition to 13 Hours, he’s doing post-production on the next Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, which he’s producing and which is due in 2016, and pre-production for the next Transformers, which he’s directing for summer 2017. “I’m doing Transformers … 5, is it?” Bay says, temporarily losing track. He shakes his head. “I’ve taken on a lot of work.”
“The movie industry has really changed,” Bay says, apropos of nothing. “The middle-[budget] movie is basically gone. They just want these big movies.” (The irony of this statement goes unremarked-upon.) “Transformers, I still have a great time. It’s fun to do a movie that 100 million people will see. But this is the last one. I have to pass the reins to someone else.”
I remind Bay that he said the same thing before each of the last two Transformers movies. “I know,” he says. “J.J. [Abrams] told me, ‘You’re the only guy that could do this.’ But it’s time to move on. One more.”

In an interview with the website SlashFilm, Michael Bay as confirmed that Transformers: Age Of Extinction, the 4th live action movie, will be the first film to be shot in full with IMAX digital 3D cameras. Below you will find an extract from the article that relates to TF:AOE.
Up until now, every feature film shot in full IMAX (of which there have been only a handful – The Dark Knight, Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen, The Dark Knight Rises, Mission: Impossible Ghost Protocol, Star Trek Into Darkness and now The Hunger Games Catching Fire) has filmed with a 65mm 2D IMAX film camera. IMAX has a 3D film camera available, but most filmmakers find it too big and loud to actually use. (Star Trek Into Darkness is the only of those films to be exhibited in IMAX 3D, but it was post-converted.) It wasn’t until recently that IMAX created a 3D digital camera, which will allow 3D capture in full IMAX. The first filmmaker to use that is Michael Bay on Transformers: Age of Extinction. That camera is much smaller and lighter than the other IMAX 3D cameras and will be used quite a bit in the future. There is no 2D digital IMAX camera, but one is being developed. Murray explains some more:
[The 3D digital camera] offers the full height aspect ratio. Our camera is based on a digital camera called Phantom. It’s a 3D camera, so we used two of their sensors and the reason we picked them was they were the closest sensor size to IMAX film frames. They’re not quite as big as IMAX film frames, but they are very close. They allow us to use the same lenses that we developed for our 3D film camera, which is much bigger and heavier. This 3D digital camera is very light and compact and easy to use.

Whilst not Transformers related it seems the ties between Michael Bay and Hasbro are set to grow. Acting Auditions have posted an article talking about how Michael Bay's production company Platinum Dunes and Blumhouse Productions are currently looking for actors to play the lead roles in a film based on Hasbro's Ouija board game. The film is reported to be a thriller from Universal Pictures that will follow a group of teens who attempt to make contact with a recently deceased classmate. It was originally planned to be a "big budget family adventure" before Universal Pictures pulled the project in August 2011 due to budgetary concerns. The project is now back on with a streamlined budget, a new screenplay and is set to be directed by Stiles White (Knowing and The Possession) with Insidious, Paranormal Activity and The Purge producer Jason Blum also involved.

News outlets around the world, including the BBC, have picked up on a story about two men who caused a disturbance on the set of Transformers 4 demanding money from Mr Bay before injuring the American director by striking him on the right side of his face. The two men proceeded to assault police officers before being arrested on suspicion of blackmail and assault. Michael Bay refused to go to the hospital for treatment, instead deciding to continue working on set.
"A local newspaper in Hong Kong reported that three men caused what it called "a huge disturbance" to the filming of the American science fiction film. It said that the men could have missed out on disturbance fees which the film crew paid to shop and business owners whose businesses were likely to be affected during filming. The two men approached Mr Bay on the set during filming, a police spokeswoman told Reuters. One of them demanded payment of HK$100,000 ($12,900; £8,030). >As the discussion continued, the man assaulted Mr Bay and also attacked three police officers who tried to intervene, police say. The officers received treatment at hospital for minor injuries. Police also arrested a third man at the scene.

Nelson, the Site Admin of Michael Bay's Shoot For The Edit website, has posted some new info on the Transformers: Age Of Extinction including confirmation that the "bearded robot" who's face was seen on a pole, will be Hound.
"I like how Bumblebee looks like in robot form this time around. He looks badass and sleek.
The Stingray is one of my favorite looking robots.
So is the Bugatti. Wait til you see this guy in action. He will blow your mind!!
And Hound reminds me of the bearded chubby fellow in Braveheart. He might take the cake when it comes to personality."

This news article is a quick round-up of recent Transformers Movie 4 news which we had not reported due to being at Auto Assembly.
On Monday reports surfaced that Sideswipe could be returning to the live action Transformers franchise when a photograph was taken near to the set. This news was always unlikely since the official Autobot cast is stated as being fixed to the vehicles which have already been officially revealed. The latest update on this is that it was a privately owned vehicle in the area.
On Tuesday it was reported that Victoria Summer (Saving Mr. Banks) tweeted that she would be joining the TF cast for a three week shoot. On the same day Mark Wahlberg, who is busy promoting 2 Guns, discussed Transformers 4 with Digital Spy and is quoting as saying "...its just very different. Its a standalone movie. Budget wise its the biggest of all of them."
Yesterday it was reported that a shoot was taking place at the Russell Bazaar location in Detroit where a helicopter mounted with a camera, the Rally Fighter vehicle, Sonic RS Rally Car and two Cadillac Escalades where all spotted.
Today footage has been published on Vimeo from yesterday's shoot which can be viewed below.
