The Transformers Universe team have announced that, as of today, they will be closing down and issuing refunds to paying members with the full closure being at 10am GMT on Jan 31st 2015. You can read the full announcement below
Today Jagex and Hasbro can confirm that Transformers Universe will close. This decision comes at an important time for both companies as they both realign their plans and focuses for 2015.
What does this mean for our players?
We’re hugely disappointed, but the game will be closing over the coming weeks before its full closure at 10am GMT on 31st January 2015.
As a team, we can’t thank players enough for the support that they have shown us over the last few years of development, and even more so during our BETA period.
What’s next?
The shutdown period will begin from today. As part of the winding down we will be refunding all those that have purchased a Founders Pack, as well as anyone that has purchased relic bundles and starter packs. These refunds should be all processed in the next 30 days. In addition we will be closing the ability for new players to make accounts, those of you that already have accounts will continue to be able to use them until the closure date.
If you haven’t received a refund after 16th January 2015 and believe you should have, then please contact the Jagex customer services team (tu_refunds@support.jagex.com). We will also be pushing an update live today that will switch off the ability for players to buy any more relic packs, or starter bundles.
As mentioned, on 31st Jan 2015 @ 10am GMT we will be shutting down all servers and forums and will freeze all Transformers Universe related accounts. These accounts will then be live for another 60 days (approx.) for any final queries before deletion on 31st March 2015.
Between now and the date of closure the Jagex CM team will continue to operate on the forums and we will provide relevant updates on the website as necessary.
If you have any queries about your account or refunds please contact our customer support team on tu_refunds@support.jagex.com. Please understand that they may be very busy during this time but they will respond as quickly as possible.
Thank You
Once again we want to thank all of the players that have played Transformers Universe and all those that have worked on the project. We’re sure you have thoughts and feelings that you’d like to share on this, so please do so on our forums. Please bear in mind that this is obviously a challenging time for all involved, especially the CM team. There will be plenty of things we can’t comment on, so please respect their position.

We already mentioned recently that Jagex, developers of the forthcoming Transformers Universe online MMO game were supporting Auto Assembly 2012 by providing us with a few prizes to give away to some of our attendees this year but now we can bring you full details of this amazing competition and how you can be one of our winners...
Jagex are sending us a staggering one hundred limited edition Transformers Universe t-shirts for us to give away to Auto Assembly 2012 attendees and all you need to be in with a chance to win one of these t-shirts is to pre-register for the convention! As long as you have booked your tickets for the convention by Wednesday 1st August 2012 you will be entered into a FREE prize draw and we will draw 100 names at random. We will then insert prize claim tickets inside 100 attendee packs that you will pick up from our Registration Desk when you arrive at the convention. All you need to do to claim your t-shirt is then bring your winning ticket to the Control Desk at any point over the weekend from 9:30 am on Saturday morning until the convention ends at 6:00 pm on Sunday and you'll be handed your t-shirt.
Please check your packs very carefully as we can't be held responsible for any lost or unclaimed prize tickets and we will not be able to issue prizes after the event.
Rules
1. The competition is open to all pre-registrants of Auto Assembly 2012 including Dealers and those purchasing a Non-Attendee Pack apart from employees of Jagex or their immediate families. 2. Holders of Partner Passes or Under 6s are not eligible to enter the prize draw. 3. Entrants must have registered for Auto Assembly 2012 by Wednesday 1st August 2012 4. Prizes must be claimed by 6:00 pm on Sunday 5th August 2012 5. Neither Auto Assembly or Jagex will be held responsibility for lost, stolen or damaged claim tickets. 6. Choice of t-shirt size is subject to availability 7. No substitute prizes or cash alternatives will be offered 8. Prizes will not be posted out with the exception of those for Non-Attendees whose prizes will be automatically claimed on their behalf.
Good luck and see you all in two weeks time!
So if you haven't already pre-registered for Auto Assembly 2012 or bought a Non-Attendee Pack there's still time before the deadline of 1st August 2012 and we still have plenty of announcements to make about the convention. After 1st August, the only way you can attend the convention is to buy your tickets on the day itself but you won't get a personalised pass or be entered into this or any of our other pre-convention prize draws!
Auto Assembly 2012 is Europe's largest EVER Transformers convention and is taking place over the weekend of 3rd - 5th August 2012 at the Hilton Birmingham Metropole Hotel. To book your tickets or find out more including details of all the dealers present and information on all our other guests including voice actors Paul Eiding, Michael Bell and Townsend Coleman, visit the website at http://www.autoassembly.org.uk
If you can't make it to the convention this year don't forget that tickets are now on sale for Auto Assembly 2013!
Online MMO games developer Jagex are busy working frantically on their upcoming Transformers Universe MMO. Back in 2011, Jagex supported Auto Assembly by providing us with a great selection of freebies to give away to our attendees, some fantastic t-shirts which we gave away as competition prizes, and donated what is still our highest fundraising auction items ever.
We're proud to announce that Jagex will be supporting Auto Assembly again this year and, they’ll be bringing boxes of stuff exclusive to attendees of Auto Assembly 2012. They will be given away as prizes in various competitions during the convention and we will also be giving away some in a pre-registrant prize draw. To enter this, all you need to do is book your tickets for the convention IN ADVANCE and you'll be entered (as long as you don't have a Partner or Under 6 pass!).
Then just check your welcome pack on the day and if you have a lucky ticket in there, you've won!
Secondly Jagex will be donating something rather special for our charity auction... They will be providing us with a very special print of artwork from the Transformers Universe game signed by the development team! At Auto Assembly 2011, a similar print that was signed by SIXTY members of the team raised an astonishing £350 and we hope that this one will do the same and we want to thank Paul Mayer and Eddy Dew from Jagex for arranging this.
Finally, we will be giving away Transformers Universe art cards to our attendees as part of the goodie bags this year. Featuring one of two different designs, these have great CGI landscapes on them and are great collectibles from the game.
Auto Assembly 2012 is Europe's largest Transformers convention and is taking place over the weekend of 3rd - 5th August 2012 at the Hilton Birmingham Metropole Hotel. Last weekend saw the MCN London Expo take place here within the UK. During the event on Saturday Jagex held a panel regarding Transformers: Universe. Whilst we were in attendance at the event we missed the panel as we were at Nickelodeons panel on the 2012 TMNT show at the same time. However thanks to YouTuber Apollon1 you can watch a video of the event below.
Whilst we were sitting in on the new Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles talk and presentation, Jagex held a presenatation to discuss the Transformers Universe MMO game (for which they are still looking for staff).
A free web-based MMO based on Transformers Prime.
Aimed to last for at least 10 years.
Will have various known Transformers Characters
At launch the game will be based on Earth but eventually other “areas” will be accessible such as Cybertron + other planets. Hence, the name “Universe”. They have stated that new transformers will be introduced as we travel from one world to another.
Energon is aimed to be used as a currency.
Real money will be integrated in the game but in what way exactly has not been yet finalized. Most likely a way to increase the pace of things for people who would like quick results. It will not be used to purchase a more powerful weapon as that would not be fair.
Regarding Customization:
Initially only vehicles but animal forms/beast modes to follow.
You can choose a male or a female character.
There will be classes: ie brawler, snipper, technician (not yet defined)
