Simon Furman has updated his blog with some information on the IDW Hardhead spotlight.
Incoming from IDW this week (Wednesday 16th in the US, 17th in the UK) is Transformers Spotlight: Hardhead, the second part of the awesome Revelation
cycle. Way back in Spotlight: Nightbeat, the titular Autobot
investigator journeyed to a planet called Gorlam Prime, and straight
into the jaws of a trap set by the denizens of the Dead Universe
(Nemesis Prime et al). Nightbeat emerged with his memories wiped and a
ticking time-bomb (not literally) in his head. Now, he’s back on Gorlam
Prime—along with Hardhead, the Autobots’ blunt, taciturn, no-nonsense
“problem-solver”—looking for answers. What they find is a vast, far
reaching conspiracy, a universe-sculpting plan many meta-cycles in the
making about to kick in big time, oh and Micromasters… lots of ‘em!
Why’s Hardhead along for the ride? Well, let’s just say that he’s
Nightbeat’s insurance policy. Those of you after a happy ending may
want to look away now!! Plus, more on the sudden resurgence of
Thunderwing, the return of the Wreckers, more on Arcee’s quest and much
more on the Dead Universe Transformers and the secrets of the
Expansion. Bad as things have been for the Autobots of late, they’re
about to get exponentially worse! Let the carnage begin! Spotlight:
Hardhead is written by me with art from Nick Roche (which absolutely
has to be seen to be believed, it’s that good!). For news and updates
on all IDW’s Transformers titles, check out their website here, and for a four-page preview of Hardhead, courtesy of Newsarama, go here. EJ Su’s cover art (part of an interlocking set) can be seen by clicking on the thumbnail below.

Simon Furman has updated his blog with a teaser for the upcoming IDW Spotlight on Grimlock
....this one’s been a long time coming, inasmuch as I pointedly didn’t want
to lean too heavily, too early in the evolution of the IDW/TF-verse, on
what’s become almost my signature character across the various eras of
Transformers in comic form. But, having trailered Grimlock (and his
Dynobots) in Spotlight Shockwave, it was only a matter of time before
the linguistically-strangled one (and don’t go reading into that that
I’m necessarily going to play IDW/TF-verse Grimlock like previous
incarnations!) got a Spotlight of his own. That begged the question,
who was IDW/TF-verse Grimlock?
How was he different? What drives him?
What makes him who he is? I wanted to make sure that this Grimlock was
presented as completely as possible as quickly as possible, and that we
got well and truly inside his head.
Anyway, the actual events in
Spotlight Grimlock (as well referencing Spotlight Shockwave, naturally)
spiral out of the catastrophic conclusion to Devastation #6, in more
ways than one. On the one hand, Skywatch, the alien-aware,
off-the-radar government organization responsible for the
salvage/reactivation/reorientation of Ravage and Laserbeak (in
Spotlight Soundwave, etc), attempt to bolster their ‘pet’ anti-robot
robot strike team with a Dynobot (or so). Things, naturally, don’t go
to plan (for reasons which will surprise you, I think), and this in
turn sets in motion a blazing confrontation with another of the
previously-introduced cast (and no, I’m not saying who), who gets some
decent page time in Devastation #6.
Though self-contained, Spotlight
Grimlock is most definitely a sequel to Spotlight Shockwave, inasmuch
as it deals with the consequences (to Grimlock himself and the other
Dynobots) of Grimlock’s actions therein. Spotlight Grimlock is also a
key part of what’s coming next. Its crunching head-to-head opens the
door for one of 08’s (several) big ‘events.’ Can’t say more, as I’m
sworn to secrecy right now, but it’s a crowd-pleaser!
Spotlight
Grimlock is drawn by Marcelo Matere and hits in March 08. Don’t miss
it, really, DON’T MISS IT.

Simon Furman has updated his
blog with the following information on Transformers Devastation issue 6
This time up it’s the turn of Transformers Devastation #6, the wrap-up
of this the third ‘-ion’ arc (and as ever, I’ll try and make this more of a tease than a spoiler).
And boy what an arc this has been! Big stuff happening!
That tired old
phrase ‘things will never be the same again’ is wholly and justifiably
applicable here. Stuff is revealed! Stuff is tied up! Other stuff kicks
off! It’s a packed old end of arc issue, with Reapers versus
Decepticons (to a shattering conclusion!), Hot Rod versus Headmasters
(to a turbo-charged conclusion… of sorts) and Hunter/Sunstreaker versus
the head of the Machination (to a point where we absolutely know who is
who and what is what, but with a distinct ‘To be continued…’). Oh yeah! Plus, (much) more on the Dead Universe cast, with Galvatron making his
first Earthbound moves, and first full appearances for Jhiaxus and ‘the
Transformer formerly known as Nova Prime.’ The main focus, though,
falls on our second fully fledged no-holds-barred (devastating) battle
of this arc, this time between the catastrophic Reapers and the Ore-13
charged Decepticons.
Expect casualties! Carnage! Shocks! Last issue saw
Starscream back in the fray, strutting his stuff, but this issue has
him fighting (once again) side-by-side with Megatron (who isn’t exactly
chuffed to see him!). Fallout/repercussions for sure. Hot Rod makes a
shocking decision (kind of prompted by Optimus Prime’s equally
momentous decision last issue) and Skywatch prepare to kick back before
things get even more out of hand. And if you think that maybe feeds
into a certain upcoming Spotlight, well, you’d be right on the money.
Oh, and don’t think I’ve forgotten about Sixshot. He too has a part to
play. All I can say is… phew! This one has it all! Really.
Devastation
#6 hits stores in February 08. Art by EJ Su.

Simon Furman has updated his blog with the following information concerning the IDW Publications Beast Wars The Ascending issue 2 comic.
Hot on the heels (paws?) of issue #1 of Beast Wars The Ascending comes
issue #2. This week, October 17th in the US, 18th in the UK, sees the
release of issue #2 of The Ascending, the continuation of IDW’s series
set in and around the Beast Wars world created by Bob Forward and Larry
DiTillio in the TV series of the same name.
Things are looking bad for
the Maximals and Predacons, as an ancient evil once more threatens the
very future of Cybertron itself. Their only hope? One Predacon general,
Magmatron, currently in temporal limbo and unable to affect very much
at all. One Maximal deep cover agent, Razorbeast, currently stranded on
prehistoric Earth and embroiled in his own ‘Beast Wars’.
This issue,
things go from bad… to worse. Even the arrival of The Pack (the
Maximals’ crack special forces team) seems destined to be too little,
too late. As for Razorbeast, he’s about to undergo something of a transformation,
and things will never be the same again! Beast Wars The Ascending #2 is
by myself and Don Figueroa.

Thanks to Talk Transformers for posting a few images from the Transformers Beast Wars Source comic from IDW Publications. You can see the images here.
I'm not sure why BB is coloured in Orange, but puhaps if someone owns the comic they could shed some light on this?
