Transformers writer Flint Dille is starting to sell off some of his personal Transformers items from his days at Sunbow. He's already sold of one of the Transformers posters that was on the wall and has now placed his first auction up on eBay for a Transformers promotional folder with episode summaries from season one of the cartoon.

In 2004 an auction appeared on eBay (Item Number 5919935901) for PVC Unicron with a price of $2000 (USD). The seller described the item as an unreleased product and when asked on the 4th September 2004 by the eBay user "Chris" whether the figure was from Generation One, a Custom figure or one of the unreleased Super Hybred Models (which it isn't) he was told:
"Nobody did not make it "Custom".Only could make "Company" for sell. Because make prtotype cost, spend made time and made cost was not free.It is a cancelled toys.Do you understand? It is easy!"
Not exactly the clearest of descriptions from the seller, but he basically meant "No it's not a custom item, it was made for a company to sell who cancelled the item.
Currently we do not have images from that auction, just our notes :(
However in 2008 a grey "prototype" was posted by a seller who is well known for selling testshots, hardcopies, prize items but also "lunchtime specials". In that auction, the seller claimed that the figure was a prototype from the 1980s and had it for sale for what worked out at $5000 (again USD).
In September 2013 a painted version was listed on Yahoo Japan for 10,000yen (roughly $1000 USD). The auction ended on the 13th September with no bidders. The seller was the same person who was trying to sell the grey prototype in 2008. This time the description was given as:
2000年前後の特大30cmサイズのユニクロンの試作品になります。未発売に終わった幻の品です。SCFロディマスコンボイは付属しません。
This roughly translates as
"It is a 30cm prototype of Unicron form around 2000. The item was cancelled before it would have been released. SCF Rodimus Convoy is not included in the auction"
So at this point the Unicron is being described as a unreleased SCF figure which is possible considering the design and articulation it has, though we do not have any proof of it being a legitimate TakaraTomy product, whether it was created to be a One-day licensed Winter Wonderfest garage kit, or whether it was a planned unlicensed kit.
Either way it's a pretty cool piece and we're glad that after 5 years additional images appeared.
You can view the images on our Facebook page where we will be hosting the images exclusively for a little while before creating a gallery here.

It has been bought to our attention that there is, and has been, auctions appearing on ebay for toys claiming to be, or hinting that they could be, lucky draw items including a black Astrotrain. There is no such prize figure and what's more the figure appears to be a fake using the "lunchtime special" mold.
TakaraTomy are not releasing, or considering to release, G1 based prize figures at this time. The only prize figures recently have been based on Transformers Prime and will be based on the Transformers Go line and are well documented now on TakaraTomy's websites as well as staffs Twitter accounts.

With his recently re-issue in Japan, you have probably come across all of the photographs on various social media channels of smiling faces with their re-issue Fortress Maximus'. Are you feeling left out but do not have over £300 to spend on the figure? Well help is at hand thanks to some overseas eBay sellers.
Seller Animetroplis has placed a figure up for sale for £249.99 with £29.99 postage and packing, so a grand total of £279.98 which is available through their eBay store ANIMETROPOLIS.
Not to be outdone however is crosszgundam who has a Fortess Maximus figure up at £184.98 with a postage charge of £75, bringing the total price to a reasonable £259.98.
Another cheaper listing comes thanks to toyercity who has the toy up for $409 which works out at around £267.41 with free shipping.

This is an important news story for collectors of Generation One figures, espeically anyone who has purchased a Computron in the last two year and comes courtesy of The Allspark. For the last two years an eBay seller by the name of Qiupaul and Mcdolltutu has been selling reproduction Computron boxes, instructions and Styrofoam and putting loose figures into those boxes and then selling them on as Mint-In-Box toys for a large profit. MightGaine has put together a guide on how oyou can identify these reproductions boxes which have been made more complicated by the seller selling other repro boxes (labelled as reproduction) which have slight differences. Here is the full story from the Allspark
"There's a really awful scam that has been going on for over 2 years now with MIB Computron gift sets on Ebay. Seller going by Qiupaul and Mcdolltutu (and other names) has been making repro MIB Computron boxes, styro, and instructions, stuffing a loose Computron inside, and selling it as a legit MIB item:
Some recent examples...
Link to recent scam auctions
One can tell they're fake because of the missing arrow next to "TECH SPECS Clip and Save!" blurb on the back. TheMint1980 on TFW noticed something was funny with the auctions a year ago, when the same two sellers were selling tons of MIB Computron gift sets. RoboticPlanet on TFW noticed recently that the seller is now selling boxes labeled as repros...
Transformers Autobots Computron Custom Made Box | eBay
While MightGaine was doing the ID guide for the repro box, he looked back at the old "MIB" auctions from the seller, and realized they were missing four of the differences in the clearly labeled repro box, but they still have one of the differences--the missing arrow on the back of the box!! Here's the ID guide...
Quipaul Computron Box ID Guide
It turns out there are actually two versions of the repro box: one used to scam people, and one clearly labeled as a repro box. All those auctions TheMint1980 has been noticing have been scams!!
Conclusion: Qiupaul/Mcdolltutu has been scamming people with fake MIB Computron gift sets for over 2 years now!! Beware!!!"

We thought we're share some of the more crazy priced auctions which are currently on eBay with you all so you can start the year with a smile.
First up there is an auction for the Transformers Prime Arms Micron Gaia Unicron for the low low price of just $3,640!! Don't worry too much though, the seller is offering free shipping.
If Transformers Prime is not your thing and you are more of a G1 collector then how avout a never been opened Scattershot for the bargin price of $5000 (free shipping within the US, no international shipping is available). The toy comes complete in a damaged box, and credit options are available ....
Are you looking for Transformers Victory figures? Well how about a MIB Doryu for the low price of £1500.00, because you couldn't possible pick up the giftset for that price or less if you waited.
Are you a fan of the Transformers Universe Classics series? Well how about getting 23 loose figures, with Onslaught missing weapons, for the low price of $2,499.99. That is just $113.63 per figure. Granted there is a Collectors Club subscription figure and club exclusive in the set, so lets say it's $100 for each of the other loose figures. Again, shipping is free.
Still got money to burn? Then how about a Botcon bargin? You can pick up the Transformers Botcon 2008 SHATTERED GLASS Box Set for just $1,999.96 I mean it's under $2k it must be worth it right ...
Still not convinced? How about a loose Fortress Maximus for just $1,999.95 because it's not like there will be many complete Fortress Maximus' around soon ....
UPDATE: The last auction we covered earlier as for RotF Devastator was actually for a set of quite a few figures so it's not as bad as it seemed at the time and thus it has been removed
Disclaimer: If you run any of these auctions and do not appreciate the sarcasm contained within this news post then you really shouldn't have posted the prices so high in the first place should you.

As there isn't much exciting news going on at the moment, and today is a bit of sucky day (at least for me) why not try out some reatil theropy in the form a a boxed G1 Star Saber
Transformers Vintage Japanese G1 Star Saber 1st Edition MIB 100%
Star Saber is an awesome toy, and as cool as the new Transformers Prime Star Saber may be, and the new lore of Star Saber being a sword made by Solus Prime (based on the Armada Mini-cons)
