TFWorld 2005 have posted a summary from the first Botcon panel
Just got back from the TFCC Panel, highlights below.
2 things for the end of the year, one cover for the magazine involves Derrick Wyatt
Animated Tech Specs – more planned, 5 at the end of year
Shattered Glass Quintesson Aquarius – Space Hippy, faces look like the Beatles
Shatteredverse Computron
2010 still being worked out
4 more Shattered stories
Blitzwing Bop
Transhuman
Ultimate Salvation
Bonus end of year story
Club exclusives announced tomorrow
2010 toy not ready yet but is being worked on, solid idea.
Not making any more Shatteredverse characters for now – definitely not Omega Doom for now.
Movie toys off limits for exclusives.
Got to see what happens with Animated to see if they can use the toys. Not any time soon.
Heatwave – won’t get a lot of screentime in the comic.
Nexus Maximus – a few names didn’t clear legal, one had Nexus, one had
Maximus, Hasbro suggested Nexus Maximus. They ran with it. Didn’t
Google it. Ooopssss…
One of the 13, no specific alignment, predates the war.
The 13 are unique over all continuities – there is only one per continuity. Unicron stays evil wherever he is.
Story ideas – not usually a problem.
Names – bit trickier to avoid infringing a mark.
Club board software getting an upgrade.
Might get a fan fiction section.
Can’t touch continuity specific characters like Drift or Mikaela.
Will be a collected edition of the year 3-4-5 comics (if Pete can talk Brian into it)
Razorclaw & Elira-1 were done as a way of covering those characters.
Didn’t want to use the Leo Prime head, didn’t know and was glad about it.
Go-Bots 5 pack – other things they’d want to do first that would sell better
Seacons story would have tied up a loose end from the Marvel comic,
still hope at some point of doing it as Part 4 (1 – Crossing Over, 2 –
Games of Deception, 3 – Cheap Shots, 4 - ???)
Shattered Glass – idea started as a Mirrorverse GI Joe set, threw around idea for a while, didn’t work for Joe but worked for TF
Comics
Diamond edition split cover old Kup to the left, young to the right, pretty fun looking pencils.
Holligan not Sunstorm (fooled me) but Gaihawk was correct
Sweeps planned for 2 years
Skyquake upgraded from UK bio from Super Evil to Super Evil Super Scientist
Continuity not meant to be certain, just an ambiguous continuity, made sense to leave it open. Future plans for the Elite Guard.
Leozak was originally going to speak in Japanese, way more over the top
originally. Compromised with an over the top font instead of having him
subtitled.
Pete is extremely happy with how the club comic came out. Look forward to the Diamond Edition content.
Landshark – homage to Steve Martin and Chevy Chase. Cow catcher burrows through the earth.
Sharkticon mold – want to use it, hard to fit it in.

For all you BotCon fans, now is the time to "Dare to Be Stuipd"!
Our next big guest? The one, the only "WEIRD AL" Yankovic! You read
that right. "Weird Al" is coming to BotCon on Saturday, May 30th.
WEIRD AL YANKOVIC
Weird Al Yankovic, the undisputed king of pop culture parody, has sold
more comedy recordings than any other artist in history. In a career
spanning nearly three decades, he has amassed 28 Gold and Platinum
albums, 7 Gold and Platinum-certified home videos and 3 Grammy Awards
(with 11 nominations).
Transformers audiences also know Weird Al for the contribution of his
single Dare to be Stupid to the soundtrack of the 1986 Transformers
Animated Movie. The song is well known to fans as it plays during the
scene in which Wreck Gar confronts the Autobots on the planet of Junk.
With the debut of Transformers Animated, fans got an extra special
treat when, Weird Al was cast as the voice of Wreck Gar for the new
series.
"Weird Al" will be joining us on Saturday for an autograph session and
a Transformers Animated panel with David Kaye. He will also be joining
us for the Party at Paramount! Because of the limited time he can spend
at the show, autographs will be from 9:00AM-11:00AM on Saturday. Only
Primus package holders can get in the autograph line (first come, first
served) and it will be cut off when the maximum number is reached. You
will be limited to one item and no personal photographs will be allowed
during the autograph session. However, "Weird Al" will be joining us at
Paramount and photos will be allowed at the party.
FAN FAVORITE: DAVID KAYE
David aka: Optimus Prime, Megatron, Galvatron, Grimlock, Lugnut, etc.
etc. and will be joining us on Saturday May 30th for a panel with
"Weird Al" and an autograph session! He will also be joining us at the
Party at Paramount!
David has been involved with the Transformers franchise in one way or
another for about 15 years. First as Megatron in Beast wars and now as
Optimus Prime in TF Animated. Two new feature animated films will
feature David's voice. "The Hero of Color City" will be released in
2010 and you'll also hear David beginning May 29th, in Pixar's new 3D
animated feature, "Up". Based in Burbank, California, Hollywood has
been keeping Kaye busy this year. "I want to thank Brian and the crew
for asking me to this years BotCon. It's great to see some old and new
faces again. Transform, and Roll Out!!"
David will be at BotCon Saturday, May 30th only. He will be available
for two autograph sessions and one voice actor panel. He will also be
joining us for the Party at Paramount! on Saturday night.
Need a pass to the Party at Paramount!?
All Primus and Minicon package holders are eligible to attend the
party. If you have not signed up yet and have decided to attend this
unforgettable night at Paramount, you can fax in a new registration
form. Mark the box at the top that this is an additional item to be
added to an existing order, mark the party selection on the form and
fax in with payment ASAP, space is limited!
Still need a Primus or Iacon set?
We have less than 10% of the entire run still available. We do have a
waiting list for the Iacon packages, however we have been allocating
sets to this list every week and currently we have filled the entire
list. We will continue to do this as we get closer to the show date, we
just want to ensure that everyone who wants an attending package can
get one. To order, use the registration form at BotCon.com.
SEE YOU IN PASADENA!

BotCon.com has been updated with images of Tunderclash, the latest BotCon 2009 exclusive figure and a repainted version of Transformer Superlink Rodimus (Transformers Energon Rodimus).
The toy features a colour scheme based on the European Exclusive leader, who's mold was later used as Transformers Machine Wars Optimus Prime.
The toy looks pretty nice, but you have to fear for the future of the mainly white toy.
