Thanks to break for posting this on our
message board in the thread about the UK toy fair.
"
I
went to the UK Toyfair too and the scalextric set was there but was
'hidden' in a secret room on the Hornby stand apparently by Hasbro's
request. The set features Bumblebee and Barricade and the figures/cars
are very similar to the old scalextric set of the 80's as in they flip
up to robot mode but can carry on racing. The Hornby rep. said there
were plans for other sets (featuring other characters) depending on the
films success. The secret room was decked out with pictures of
Bumblebee & Barricade on the walls and they really looked
impressive. Someone also commented on how amazing the 'bots look in the
film."

On a post on the
Frank Welker homepage, there is a message, apparently from Mr Welker, which reads as the following.
"I am not really
sure what's happening with the "Transformer" movie other than my
talented friend Peter Cullen has been cast. Presently, I have not been
offered any roles. They are doing a new series based on our old shows
which neither Peter nor I were cast. I think Corey Burton is playing
the new Megatron. He is a wonderful voice talent and a great guy, so
it's nice to be replaced by folks you like at any rate.
Happy Holidays!
Frank (12/8/2006 9:49:54 PM PST)"
Yes that from the 8th December 2006.

Pocket-lint have an article regarding a
Transformers Movie Scalextirc set, due to be released in the UK later this year. The item, which will probably get a world wide release (the website it has been reported on is a UK website) will be the second Transformers Scalextirc set to be released. They have others planned for possible
Transformers Movie Sequals.
"There are potential plans to do more sets with more characters however
only if the film is successful and a follow-up movie is released within
a couple years", We still have our original, although not in the box, with both card (on cards) and the car it came with - which was a mixture of the two (as it was second hand).
Thanks to Seibertron for the spot.

The Allspark have a high-resolution image of the face of Optimus Prime from the
Transformers Movie. The image shows how the CGI team have optic for optics rather than "eye-shields" for the robots eyes.

A fourth member of the
Transformers Real-Gear unit has appeared on
ebay, once agan thanks to SPX. This one is called Zoom-Out, a Video Camera robot (to go with the digital camera, phone and portable video game consol).
An interesting note is that the image on the view of the camera is of Nitro Convoy, Overdrive, from the Transformers Galaxy Force / Transformers Cybertron line.
The recent magazine article on the
Transformers Movie did mention a scene where the Transformers hide themselves around Spike's house.
