The
Transformers Movie news keeps rolling in.
Seibertron was contacted by Brian Jacks of
MTV Movies Blog and have been told that Megan Fox has confirmed to MTV that she will return in the second instalment of The Transformers Movies. Fox is quoted as saying that they are already working on the script for Transformers II.
Although no suprise, it was expected both Megan and Shia would have signed on for three films, it's doubtful any script work would be started on the second movie yet.

Many thanks to Olivia at ITN for sending us a copy of the 'dropsheet' which came with the footage used by Espresso on their feature on the Transformers Sports Label toys. Duck Star originally tols us about the School TV show
Espresso, which featured the TakaraTomy Transformers Sports Label Nike Megatron toy.
The drop-sheet not only contained a description of the video files sent to ITN, some of which were used on the show, but also the "news story" for their presenter to read out. The script included lots of mistakes (Negatron, Takara Tommy) and a few others. I've corrected some of the grammer, but left 99% of it intact. If you look through the information, you'll find some interesting quotes from Japanese retailers, stating how well the items have sold. It's also very interesting to see that TakaraTomy have focused on female collectors of Nike Shoes in Japan.
Here's the drop sheet (which is basically information for the broadcaster to use).

TRANSFORMERS TOYS STORY: You can't wear the latest Nike shoes to be
launched in Japan, but you may be able to have just as much fun
transforming it into a toy robot. That's what the creators of the
robot, Japanese toy maker Takara Tomy, are hoping.
In the
past, toy robots have transformed into aeroplanes, tanks or cars.
This is the first time the company has attempted to pair up
robots with something ordinary, like a shoes. But the toy maker
expects chemistry between its popular toy and Nike brand which is
popular especially among young adults will help expand its customer
base to young men and women in their 20s and 30s who used to play
with Transformer toys in their childhood.
"We do make
products which transform into robots and that is primarily for
children. We thought that if we make a toy which can transform into
something adults are interested in, they would take interest in our
products," said Masahiko Yamazaki, the chief of a marketing
group at Takara Tomy.
Their idea seems to
have paid off so far as the products were almost sold out soon after
going on sale throughout Japan. The shoe robots, which cost 2,625 yen
(22USD), were snapped up mainly by adults.
"A lot of
customers queued up to buy the toys from early morning. I think the
reason is both brands of Transformers and Nike are well known all
around the world," added Hiroki Kimura, a chief sales assistant
at Big Camera, one of the biggest toy retailers in Tokyo.
The shelf with the
shoe-robot display has a constant stream of customers. "As I am
a devotee of Nike shoes, this toy attracts mevery much. " said
one of the customers, 30-year-old Tomomi Ota who was admiring the
robots with her friend.
The products were made
partly to promote incoming a Hollywood action film featuring the toy
robots "Transformers: Autobots and Transformers" which is
due out this summer in Japan and The United States.

In a post on his message board, Michael Bay has expressed a desire to release the Transformers Movie on the 3rd of July in the United States as its a bank holiday. He also comments that the trailer is "just a teaser" of the robot action in the film. This cetainly is in keeping with people we have spoken to who recently viewed the latest cut. He're Michael's post
Hey, i want to thank everyone for the kind words on the trailer. I'm so used to seeing robots I kind of got bored with the trailer. I forget you have not seen them. When they put the piece together I kept wanting to show our truly awesome shots - but we didn't. I can without a doubt say we have just teased you on this trailer. We have so many awesome shots that will never be in our ads. I bet this will be one of the rare trailers that does not show you the true money shots of the movie.
I would also like fans opinion on opening on July 3rd instead of the 4th. The studio kind of sort of is thinking about which might mean "no". If you spread the word on the Net - they might listen. The 3rd everyone is off from work, I say "what the fuck" play the movie - "give'em giant fucking robot early"!!!

A few weeks ago we reported that Seibertron had found a listing for a Japanese exclusive Bumblebee figure to come with movie tickets. In the same report we broke the news that the figure was to be recoloured.
Now Loppi Goods have updated their website with more information, including that the figure will be a Metallic version of the figure.

Its time for another
Transformers At The Moon exclusive, and it should come as no surprise that its once again to do with the
live action Transformers Movie release here within the UK. Having spoken to Paramount UK we can bring news of the UK advertising campaign for the film. Here is a summary
- The advertising campaign kicks into force from early July with magazine ads.
- This will be folowed in early to mid July with an outdoor campaign as well as TV spots
- The "Protect & Destroy" teaser posters have been in UK cinemas for some time now (though not by us it must be said) and the main cinema poster campaign will kickoff in the next two to three weeks.
- The cast and crew will be in London at the end of June, so expect to see quiet a lot of interviews (probably newspaper and TV).
- Paramount's own publicity magazine breaks will commence from early June

Paramount UK have confirmed to me that the UK release date for the Transformers Movie is stil the 27th July 2007 and not the 29th June 2007 as advertised on the UK version of thre US TransformersMovie.com website. To quote Paramount directly. "
The UK release is 100% July 27th, 2007. It's a very wide release.". Hopefully this will
end the speculation that has been mounting over the last month that the release date had changed.
Stay with Transformers At The Moon as we bring you the very latest news on the Transformers Movie to affect the UK and European fans.
