Inside Line report that the GM Chevy Volt which has been seen no the set of Transformers Revenge fo the Fallen was only filmed for a day or two and that it's not going to be a Transformer. The Volts inclusion in the movie will be purely as an advertising vehicle for the car that will be released around the same time. The article also talks about how the vehicle on the set is an early prototype and that the final version of the car will be different.
The revelation about the Volt not being a Transformer appeares to have been missed by most fan sites when reporting on this.

In an interview with the Reading Eagle, Transformers veteran voice actor, Peter Cullen, the voice of Optimus Prime, Ironhide and others in Generation One and Optimus Prime in the live action Transformers, talks about his work on Transformers over the years as well as his other projects.
In terms of Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen Peter comments that his voice recording sessions have already begun. "I worked with Michael a few weeks ago and we did
some of the opening dialogue, the opening speech and then a couple of scenes
with Shia LaBeouf. Shia wasn't there, of course. I just worked from the
script.". When asked about the story to the second of three Transformers movies, Peter replied "They're very secretive
about the story, I only know the lines I've read, and I'm not allowed
to disclose any of those. But the amount of success that 'Transformers' had on a
financial level is providing a lot more screen time for Optimus Prime. It's very
expensive to do all these robot characters because of the 10,000 moving
parts. Thankfully we were a hit, so there's 'Transformers 2' and maybe
'Transformers 3.' I think 'Transformers 2' is going to be an incredible,
incredible picture. I can see the excitement in the faces of the people
involved, and it generates quite a bit of excitement in me too."

Yahoo recently ran a Top Sci-Fi Movies of all time poll, which like many an online poll run nowadays, came back with some surprising answers. The top three films were listed as follows:
Iron Man
Star Wars: A New Hope
Transformers
Usually films such as 2001, Bladerunner, Aliens and even Terminator would be expected to be amongst the top spots.

In an interview with MTV,
IDW Editor-in-Chief Chris Mowry has revealed a little more regarding the five part Transformers: Destiny series that IDW will be releasing. The key points of the article are yet further confirmations that both Soundwave and Arcee will appear within the live action movie, as well as other fan-favourites, and that "The Fallen" will indeed be a character and not just a reference to the returning Decepticons.
"[We're going to] explore the background of The Fallen — the main villain of the
movie — as well as expand on the ‘Reign of Starscream’ story that we’re doing
and tie everything in to what this next movie is going to be,” explained writer
Chris Mowry, who partners on the book with artist Alex Milne. “The next movie
starts out with just tons of action and there’s obviously going to be a lot of
questions, so we’re hoping to answer some of those beforehand.”
At the
end of “Transformers,” audiences were treated to a grand speech from Optimus
Prime issuing the call for his off-world Autobots to head to Earth. We also saw
Starscream blast into space after the defeat of his leader Megatron. So where
did he go? Mowry’s “Reign of Starscream” miniseries — currently on shelves —
answers that question and leads directly into “Destiny.”
“We’re
definitely taking every character that we can from the sequel,” said Mowry. “So
you’ll see some Sector 7 involvement and how they developed into a new group
that will be introduced. The same thing with some of the new characters, we’ll
explain how they get to Earth. Because like I said, [the sequel] starts out with
this giant battle so people will be wondering ‘Hey, where did that guy come
from?’”
While Mowry has yet to have direct contact with “Transformers:
Revenge of the Fallen” screenwriters Roberto Orci and Alex Kurtzman, he counts
himself as one of the lucky few to have a complete script. That’s important to
keep his story in continuity, Mowry stated, as well as to ensure he’s not
stepping on the film’s plotlines. “We had this really ambitious script done
where there were a lot of fan-favorites in there. [But] some of them are going
to be making an appearance in the second movie so they asked us not to use
those, which is understandable.”
Two of those fan-favorite characters are
Soundwave and Arcee, both of whom find themselves recruited for the sequel.
“[Starscream]’s more of like a military guy. So in ‘Destiny’ we’re going to see
a lot more involvement with [the backgrounds of] Prime and Megatron, [as well
as] Cybertron’s history and how that affects the present day. It all centers
around the plot of the sequel which I obviously can’t get into. It’ll be
explained but you’ll see a lot more expansion of their characters and their
motivations and their destinies, if you will."

Rumours are flying due to an of the cuff comment made by Roberto Orci on the Don Murphy message boards regarding a trailer for Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen.
Roberto Orci, stated "maybe -- or maybe in front of EAGLE EYE... who knows." when asked if a trailer for the Transformers sequal would be shown during Fringe (a TV series he is working on).
Eagle Eye is a Shia LaBeouf thriller set to hit theatres in the US in September. Any trailers at this point would be teaser trailers, and like those for the original would probably not feature any in-movie footage.
