Thanks to images supplied to TFW2005.com the identity of the red Jeep seen in Chicago on the set of Transformers 3 has been revealed as Rollbar.
Rollbar was originally a green Throttlebot Jeep in Generation One and later an Orange/Red jeep in Transformers Binaltech (on which the Movie figurea appears to be based).
Its finally happening! Weird Al Yankovic is playing European dates including two within the UK this year! Credit for spotting this goes to Impactor from our boards for spotting this and The Great Destroyer for letting me know about it.
Weird Al of course played Dare to be stupid in Transformers The Movie and this could well be the UKs only time to see Al play. I encourage everyone who is a fan of Weird Al to book tickets, if the event is popular enough then he may add more dates, but there is also more of a chance that he will come back in the future.
He is playing the HMV Forum in Kentish Town on Monday 6th December and is also playing in Mindhead the night before as part of the All Tomorrow's Parties festival
Nelson has posted on Shoot for the Edit once again with another update on Transformers 3
Nelson here...
I arrived at the Chicago Michigan Ave. set on Friday, July 16th. I was
greeted by Mike Case (Bay's assistant) and was taken to Bay's monitor
tent which was in the middle of a war zone. Michael greeted and
proceeded to ask some things about the site. He then took out his iPad
and showed me animatics of some sequences. Holy moly. This movie is
going to be huge!!! In my opinion, more epic than TF2 with the first
time amazement of TF1. I wish I could tell you what I saw on the
animatics, but I can't.
Bay was filming a scene with Shia (Sam) & Rosie (Carly) in which
they were hiding within a wrecked and flipped car. At around that time
the temperature hit 102 degrees (including humidity index). It was so
hot that Shia was sweating through his leather jacket and as was Rosie.
Back to the scene... apparently the scene is one in which a Decepticon
is hunting for them. As Bay filmed this, a cue from the score was played
to add to the suspense.
As the crew broke for lunch, I met Lester Speight (Coltrane on Gears of
War) and went on to lunch with him. He was very nice and delightful.
Later, I got to meet the rest of the cast: Shia, Rosie, Tyrese, and
Josh.
I had the pleasure of talking to Shia for for about 30 minutes and with
Tyrese and Josh for another 30 minutes. All these guys have an
impressionable work ethic, are fun to talk to and down-to-earth people.
And that goes for the rest of the crew. I many many nice and
professional people that are working their hardest to make this movie
successful and entertaining.
As the day came about, Bay, Shia, Tyrese & Josh all came to meet
than fans that had been waiting since 7am to catch a glimpse down the
street. They also were interviewed by CBS 2 TV in which Bay praised the
city of Chicago.
As always, Bay left the best for last. Explosions and gunfire!!
That's it for now. I will post a video of some of the activities later.
Enjoy."
Previously it was believed the name Rush was that of the Ferrari, but in fact it was the name of the street in which it was parked
Nelson, the admin of Michael Bay's Shoot for the Edit site has posted a few updates regarding rumours on Transformers 3
Chud.com have posted what they claim is details on the opening scene for Transformers 3. This report should be taken with a pinch of salt, but you can read it be highlighting the space below.
There's a disturbance on the Moon. A
robot shaped disturbance. Scientists on Earth see this and the
information gets passed up the chain of command. In the White House men
in black suits are breathlessly running through the halls, and they
burst into the Oval Office. The president is behind the desk, back
turned to the door, looking out the window. One of the men tells the
president, 'Sir, something's happened on the Moon!' The president turns
around.
It's John F. Kennedy.
Transformers producer Lorenzo di Bonventura recently sat down with Collider.com to discuss some of the latest goings on with Transformers 3, from hirings to how Michael Bay is getting on with filming in 3D.
YouTube user nando323 has posted a video on You Tube titled Transformers 3 Movie filming on 43th Street and Main in which you can make out the vehicle representations of Bumblebee along side the Ferrari 458 Italia and the Convertible Corvette Stingray.
Transformers Revenge of the Fallen Sideswipe originally used the Corvette mode, so it is highly likely this will simply be an upgraded form for that character. Sideswipe had a short role and one line in the second live action Transformers Movie.
The character represented by the Ferrari is still unknown.
For those wondering, Mattle now has the rights to the original Corvette Stingray car (for toy representations), so the change in model with keep the agreement between GM and Hasbro.
KO Toys has updated it's site with images of Transformers Hunt for the Decepticons Insecticon.
The figure has an interesting insect mode and four arms whilst in robot mode.
KO Toys has supplied Seibrtron.com with images of the Transformers Hunt for the Decepticons Seaspray and Breacher combined in vehicle mode.
Don't get too excited though, as the smaller figure (Breacher) just fits in the back of Seaspray
