TFCon have announced that Frank Welker shall be attending the non-official Transformers convention on the Saturday only with tickets prices being announced at a future time. Much like with Botcon it is expected that it will cost extra to see Frank so stay tuned for more as it's announced.
TakaraTomy were in attendance at Winter Wonderfest 2016 in Japan and had display cases showing off their upcoming 20th Anniversary Masterpiece Beast Wars Convoy along with the grey prototype for Unite Warriors Bruticus.
We are honoured to announce that Simon Furman, one of the most significant contributors to Transformers and its rich mythos, will be joining us for our inaugural convention!
It really does feel right for somebody who has worked so hard from the Cybertronian's earliest days be here with us to celebrate the bold new era of TFNation.
We would keep you here all day if we were to list Simon's complete Transformers credits. Much of his work comprises the bedrock of the comics, animation and films we all enjoy today. Simon's writing has stood the test of time and his work is still held in high regard today. He has worked for the successive publishers Marvel, Dreamwave and IDW.
Simon has also lent his comic talents to many other titles including Scream, Thundercats, Alpha Flight, Doctor Who, as well as co-creating Dragon's Claws and of course a certain Freelance Peacekeeping Agent who Marvel keep teasing may return...
In addition to his writing, Simon also served as an editor for Marvel UK and Titan Books.
Away from comics, Simon has been involved in the world of animation from Beast Wars, X-Men: Evolution, Dan Dare to most recently serving as both Head Writer and Script Editor for CITV's The Matt Hatter Chronicles.
Over the course of the weekend, you will have the opportunity to hear more about this storied career from the man himself and in much greater detail.
Simon will be signing autographs and selling comics and script packs from Friday 19th until Sunday 21st August 2016 at the Hilton Birmingham Metropole Hotel at TFNation 2016. We look forward to seeing you there!
Botcon posted a new preview video yesterday featuring David Kaye which ends with a suprise reveal image of Megatron in what clearly is a recolour of the 2001 Transformers Robots In Disguise Megatron (Car Robots Gigatron) figure. You can watch the video below.
The Transmetal 2 coloured Megatron based on the RiD Megatron figure is a concept that was designed by 3H and never used. You can view a drawing of those designs below.

The TFNation team have issued a new release regarding booking a hotel for their inaugral show which has been in hide demand since registration opened on the 15th Jan
Transmission Initiated Transmission ID: 000019 TFNation_2016 Operation: Hotel Update #2
As announced last week, our allocation of rooms at the Hilton Birmingham Metropole Hotel have almost sold out. With many more Transformers fans still looking to purchase tickets, here are some hints and tips to help you to find accommodation:
1. RESERVING A TFNATION ROOM AT THE HILTON
At the time of writing, we still have the following room types available on the core convention days;
Friday – Single, Queen Executive and Family. Saturday – Single Sunday – Twin Deluxe, Twin Executive, Queen Executive and Family.
We also have rooms left on the days surrounding the convention (Wednesday, Thursday, Monday and Tuesday) which might be particularly helpful for international attendees.
2. FIND A ROOMMATE
We have opened a thread on our Facebook page for people looking for roommates. If there is a spare bed in your room, please consider assisting a fellow fan.
3. RESERVING A PUBLIC ROOM AT THE HILTON
Like most hotels, the Hilton keeps a certain amount of rooms for public sale. This means you can still get a room at the Hilton, but the price and terms of sale will be different to the special deal negotiated by TFNation.
PLEASE NOTE - The Hilton cannot assign convention rates to public reservations.
There are two main ways to reserve a publically available room:
3.A. HILTON WINTER SALE
Presently the Hilton is holding a WINTER SALE on its website.
These rooms represent a good saving over standard hotel prices, though you may have to pay upfront. Unlike TFNation rooms, breakfast is typically not included. Additional options are available for Hilton Honors members – it is members – full details can be found here http://hhonors3.hilton.com/en/index.html for more information
3.B. RESERVING HILTON ROOMS THROUGH THIRD PARTY WEBSITES Hilton rooms are available through many public websites. Please read the terms and conditions for booking as some may require upfront payment, and/or may not include breakfast. Examples of booking sites include;
If you have booked different nights through different sources, then please let the hotel know either before the event, or at check in, as they may be able to combine your bookings into a single stay to save you having to change rooms. This only applies where all your rooms are of the same type (eg: single)
4. OTHER HOTELS NEAR TO THE HILTON
There are many alternative hotels near to the Hilton. We have listed some below, and have separated them into ‘walking distance’ and ‘driving distance’;
Firstly, within walking distance you have -
Budget Price Hotels: Etap Hotel Birmingham Airport IBIS Styles Birmingham Airport The Holiday Inn Express, NEC The Premier Inn Birmingham NEC Novotel Birmingham airport
Luxury Price Hotels: Genting Hotel (Resorts World) Crown Plaza Birmingham NEC Arden Birmingham NEC
Secondly, if you have a car, these options may work out well for you -
Travelodge Birmingham International Holiday Inn: International Airport
5. OTHER HOTELS – FURTHER AFIELD
Closer to the event, we will post a list of hotels which are nearer to Birmingham City Centre.
We hope this update has been useful. Remember, the best part of the convention will be the parts where you are awake with friends – so please don’t get stressed if you cannot stay at the Hilton itself, as we are sure you will still have a fabulous time.
Further transmissions to follow.

TFNation have announced that renowned concept designer and illustrator, Emiliano Santalucia, shall be joining them for their inaugural convention which takes place August 19th - 21st in Birmingham England.
You can find a copy of the announcement below.
Transmission_Initiated TransmissionID: 000018 Guest_Announcement Operation: Concept and Design
We are honoured to announce that renowned concept designer and illustrator, Emiliano Santalucia, shall be joining us for our inaugural convention!
Emiliano is a concept artist on the live action Transformers movie series produced by Paramount Pictures. He has also undertaken substantial work as a concept artist and toy designer for Hasbro Inc. on various Transformers toy lines including Dark Of The Moon, Transformers: Crossovers, Generations, Robots In Disguise, the fan favourite Combiner Wars and the highly anticipated Titans Return. Some of the toys he has worked on include Generations Rhinox, Rattrap, Waspinator and Metroplex; Combiner Wars Sky Lynx; Titans Return Galvatron, Fortress Maximus and Skull Cruncher to name but a few. On top of his film and toy credentials, Emiliano has also worked on Transformers comics for both IDW and Devils Due.
Despite his amazing range of work with the Transformers brand, Emiliano is probably best known for his association with Mattel's He-Man and the Masters of the Universe brand. He also co-founded The Power and Honor Foundation; a non-profit organisation which exists to collect, archive, preserve, and educate the public about the creative origins of He-Man and the Masters of the Universe and She-Ra Princess of Power. Emiliano's MOTU work covers comics, toy / statue design, art books and Definitive Films' Power of Grayskull documentary.
Outside of these two brands, Emiliano has also worked on other comic book series from Star Comics and Play Press, Image Comics, MVC Creations, Devils Due and IDW (including G.I Joe, Power Rangers) as well as working on various DVD covers (The Real Ghostbusters; Defenders of the Earth; Bravestarr; Blackstar and Hero High).
Emiliano will be signing autographs and selling artwork from Friday 19th until Sunday 21st August 2016 at the Hilton Birmingham Metropole Hotel at TFNation 2016 – we look forward to seeing you there!
Registration for Botcon 2016 has now opened with reports coming in that the new registration system has removed most of the troubles that have plagued the official convention for the last few years and comes after increased concern at some of the more recent emails being sent out be the club. At the same time Fub Publications have announced, via Twitter, that there will be at least 9 toys for this years event which use the Combiner Wars figures. The breakdown includes 7 deluxe (the four confirmed limbs plus the probably the Terrorsaur with two others still be be announced), 1 Voyager (Seaclamp, the body) and an unknown Legends Class figure. Fun Pub have also announced that the Golden Ticket holders will receive another exclusive figure.
Molds utilizing Combiner Wars Deluxe class figures - 7, Voyager class -1, Legends Class -1
Away from Botcon, tickets continue to be on sale for TFNation in August here within the UK with tickets for Roll Out Roll Call, also here in the UK in July, expected to go on sale in the next month
TFNation have issued the following press release regarding the state of the hotel rooms:
Transmission_Initiated TransmissionID: 000017 TFNation_2016 Operation: Hotel Update
Since our new website went live, it has become apparent that the TFNation crew is blessed with a lot of support. We cannot thank you enough for this, as we continue to build on what will be a fantastic event.
One of the results of this strong support has been an unprecedented demand for convention-rate rooms at the Hiton Metropole. The reservations have been fast and unrelenting as people have booked early to secure their spot. Due to this demand, the remaining allocation has become limited in a very short period of time.
Naturally, we have received a lot of questions regarding the remaining rooms, so we wanted to take this opportunity to answer some of these points, provide some information and keep everyone upto date.
1. ARE ALL OF THE DISCOUNTED ROOMS SOLD OUT? No. Although some room types have sold out on the core convention nights (twins and doubles being the very first room types that everyone booked) there are still other options available. The Sunday night allocation saw the most demand and so the remaining options for that night are the most limited.
2. WILL TFNATION RECEIVE ANY OTHER DISCOUNTED ROOMS? We have already liaised with the hotel and it is very unlikely that we will be afforded any more rooms at the convention-rate, as they have to cater for multiple events. With this in mind, we encourage you to make alternate plans now.
3. WHAT ROOM TYPES ARE LEFT ON THE CORE DATES? We still have a healthy allocation of Friday and Saturday single rooms at the discounted price, but they won’t last forever, so we encourage you to book quickly.
We also have some executive upgrade rooms remaining, both twin and doubles. Remember, whilst executive rooms are more expensive, they give you access to the executive bar, with its selection of complimentary alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks. Plus, sharing a room (and therefore, the nightly rate) will help to bring your costs down, somewhat. 4. WORKING WITH THIS NEWS, ATTENDEE REACTIONS AND WHAT NOT TO DO. Some attendees may not be aware, but many previous events at the Hilton have sold out of their discounted rooms, with lots of attendees sourcing alternate accommodation without too much bother. If you have not been in this position before, then it is natural to become a little stressed by the situation. It is, however, important to remember that nothing has gone wrong - the truth is that a large amount of our TF community have booked straight away and taken up many of the options available.
Sadly, we have received reports that a small number of people have called the Hilton directly and have been less than polite to reception staff. This serves little purpose but to damage TFNation's relationship with the Hilton and may, infact, impact future years' allocations. We strongly urge our attendees not to do this - reception staff do not have the authority to give you additional rooms, or change booked rates, and do not deserve to be treated badly during their day job.
Thanks for your understanding. 5. WHAT TO DO Stay calm. We are seven months away from the event - you have lots of time to plan. There are multiple ways you can book alternative accomodation, with the minimum of fuss. Remember, this is where you will sleep after enjoying all the convention's events. While staying outside of the main hotel may add extra time when returning to your room, it will not impact the jokes in the bar, the workshops we will announce shortly, the panels, the guests and your friends who you will no doubt meet, that weekend.
Below, we will list the options you can take now, while we work on alternative avenues. We advise you to take prompt action as holding out for your prefered room to become available again will only reduce your options.
6. BOOK WHAT YOU CAN If you are looking for a single room for the three nights then we suggest you book the Friday and Saturday at the Hilton, and then you just need to find an option for the Sunday. Even if the last night costs more, you have at least saved on the other two nights and that will lessen the impact of a Sunday booking. 7. FIND A ROOMMATE We have opened a thread on our facebook page for people looking for roommates. If there is a spare bed in your room, please consider assisting a fellow fan.
8. HILTON WINTER SALE Although the convention rate rooms are selling quickly, the Hilton – like most hotels – reserves some rooms for public sale.
These rooms represent a good saving over standard hotel prices, though you may have to pay upfront. Unlike convention rooms, breakfast is typically not included.
If you already have a discounted room booked for certain convention nights then you can ask the Hilton to keep you in that room for your public booking, if it is the same room type. To do this, you can contact them shortly before the event, or ask reception when you check in. The Hilton is not able to change the cost of publicly booked rooms to the convention rate, after ordering.
9. THIRD PARTY ROOMS Third party websites also sell some of the publicly available rooms at the Hilton. While some bookings will be cheaper than the Hilton's Winter Sale rooms, payment dates and breakfast options may vary - always read the terms. We suggest you try the following: Hotels.com Trivago.com Spareroom.com
9. OTHER HOTELS This week we will update our website to provide you with a list of alternative accommodation in the area – there are lots of options within walking distance or a short commute. As we are seven months away from the convention, browsers will have numerous options.
We hope this update has been helpful and we thank you for your understanding. We know booking hotel rooms can be a stressful time. Whether or not you get your first choice room, we hope as many of you as possible will join us at the convention.
Botcon have released the box art for this years box set with the exclusive combiner team Predacus. The artwork shown below also reveals another character from this years event
If you look closely at the top left you will see a red jet with a orange nosecone and teeth like markings. This appears to be a previous unannounced Combiner Wars Terrorsaur figure!! Also at the bottom left is an overturned vehicle, its hard to tell who this is but it with Terrorsaur being the first non-boxset toy you have to ask yourself "where are the Maximals?"
Tickets for TFNation 2016 are available right now over on the TFNation website. At the same time the new TFNation website has launched containing information on the guests, news stories, information on the crew, photo albums and much more to come.
Below you will find a copy of both of the most recent news stories
With registration for TFNation 2016 opening at noon on Friday 15th January now is the perfect time to reveal our discounted hotel room rate and also to remind you of some features that are included within your ticket price.
WHAT IS INCLUDED IN YOUR TICKET PRICE?
Whether you buy a ticket that lasts for the full weekend, or just for the Sunday, there is plenty to see and do at TFNation. This is what your ticket entitles you to;
1. Access to autograph sessions. Our guests will not charge for autographs. 2. Access to panels and workshops. 3. Access to our dealer room. 4. Buying a TFNation ticket also means you qualify to reserve a hotel room at a reduced rate (subject to availability)
(access to all areas is subject to maximum room capacity, for safety reasons.)
CONVENTION RATE HOTEL ROOMS
The Hilton Birmingham Metropole (or as we like to call it - The Hilton Metroplex) ... has kindly offered the following discounted nightly rates to TFNation attendees;
- £59.00 Single Deluxe room, including complimentary breakfast. - £68.00 Twin / Queen room, including complimentary breakfast. - from £98.00 Family room, including complimentary breakfast - family room prices increases by £12.00 per each additional adult.
(executive class rooms also available at an additional charge)
All rates are nightly and all include VAT.
It is important to remember that you do not have to pay for your hotel room at the time of reservation. So reserve now to avoid disappointment, then pay at check in.
As a first year convention our bedroom allocation is limited, so we strongly advise you to book early to avoid disappointment. If your chosen stay appears to be unavailable, it may just mean one room type on one day is full - try different combinations of nights and room types for the best chance of securing accommodation at the event.
We will be monitoring room sales closely and will be providing information about nearby alternatives, should our allocation sell out quickly.
NEW WEBSITE INCOMING
Not only are both ticket registration and hotel bookings available from 12pm (GMT) Friday but we are also launching a brand new convention website. The new site will enable you to follow our transmissions, book tickets using our secure booking process and find out more information about our guests as well as the fantastic hotel facilities that residents will have access to.
Thank you for your support. We look forward to welcoming you to our new website this coming Friday!
We wish to start this transmission by issuing a huge THANK YOU to everybody who has booked tickets to attend TFNation 2016 today. Your support is much appreciated.
Bedroom sales have been phenomenal and we are aware that some room types are now in very limited supply. We've received many good questions, so we are going to provide some of the answers for you here.
1. We do still have bedrooms available, but some rooms types on some nights are in short supply.
2. As we still have rooms left we encourage you to try different booking combinations when looking for a room. Try looking for individual nights to benefit from the deals.
3. We are already liaising with the hotel to see whether more rooms can be provided. This cannot be guaranteed, but we will let you know if we are successful.
4. We have already prepared detailed advice on alternative accommodation, because we want as many people as possible to enjoy TFNation. This will be released shortly.
Thank you again for joining us on this exciting adventure. Your support has been fantastic!
TFNation issued the following release on Saturday evening announcing that tickets will go on sale to the UKs newest dedicated Transformers show at noon this Friday!
TFNation shall be launching a brand new website which runs over HTTPS with an extended validation certificate meaning that not only is all traffic on the website encrypted but that the company behind it, TFNation Ltd, has also been checked to ensure security and safety. The new website, which is set to be revealed at the same time that tickets go on sale, fully supports mobile and tablet devices and has was designed by half of the Transformers At The Moon team.
We are pleased to confirm that tickets to TFNation 2016 will go on general sale from 12:00pm (GMT) on Friday 15th January 2016.
The booking process is swift and easy:

Payments will be accepted via TFNation’s ‘Paypal for Business’ platform. This means you can choose to pay with your credit or debit card, or your existing Paypal account, giving you flexibility.
PHASE THREE - CONFIRMATION
TFNation refuses to wait around. Confirmation emails will be sent to you the same day you book - usually within 30 minutes. You will also be able to access your booking history and tickets at any time via our website. There you can either print, or download your tickets to your smartphone to bring to the event.
PHASE FOUR – HOTEL ROOMS

This page has been created just for TFNation ticket holders, giving you a great discount on regular hotel prices. You can reserve now and pay later, so there is no reason to wait.
We will send a further transmission regarding accommodation shortly, but we do wish to stress that hotel rooms are strictly subject to availability. It is important to remember that TFNation is a first year event and therefore our bedroom quota is limited – if the convention proves to be successful, we will hopefully be able to reserve even more bedrooms in future years.
Thank you for your support. We look forward to welcoming you to our new website this coming Friday!
