As you know, as part of the Saturday evening entertainment at Auto Assembly 2009 there will be a script reading featuring Gregg Berger, Ian James Corlett, comic artist Simon Williams and - subject to his appearance at the convention - Neil Kaplan in a brand new script being written exclusively for Auto Assembly by Simon Furman (who is writing All Hail Megatron issue 13 which is having a convention exclusive variant cover from Nick Roche and Liam Shalloo). However, the script has more than those few characters now it's time to give YOU the chance to appear on stage with these Transformers voice actors...!
Starting now, we are casting for four roles in this short play set in the Beast Wars era and to have a chance of playing one of these characters, all you need to do is decide which part(s) you want to audition for and just send us an MP3 of you doing that voice and include your ticket number with your email! We'll listen to all of the entries and select a winner and runner up to act as an understudy incase the winner isn't available on the evening!
There are just three basic rules for this competition:- 1. All entrants must be 16 or over. 2. Entrants must be FULL WEEKEND attendees and available for the Saturday evening programme. 3. You must pre-register for the convention and auditions must be received by no later than 31st July 2009. Apart from that, the auditions are open to everyone, INCLUDING our guests! Naturally, Auto Assembly Committee members and their families are not eligible to enter.
We have open audtions for the following Beast Wars characters:- Megatron, Razorbeast, Dinobot and Waspinator so get your files to us as soon as possible! You can create dialogue yourself, perform existing lines from the TV show (or the comic in the case of Razorbeast) or request a short extract from the actual script and we will send a small piece for you to record but you need to hurry!
For full details on Auto Assembly 2009 and to book your tickets, visit the website at www.autoassembly.org.uk To submit your audition, send it to autoassembly@aol.com

Hi everyone,
If you're planning on pre-booking for Auto Assembly 2009, you now have the chance to win a FREE pass to Auto Assembly 2010 with our great "Milestones" competition...
The first of these is what I am calling our "Milestone Draw". Over the last few years, we have set various attendance records for Auto Assembly. As this is the 20th Anniversary of Infinite Frontiers, the organisation behind Auto Assembly, we wanted to look at some of the really big milestones for the convention and celebrate what we have achieved over the years and we want to acknowledge these "milestones" by rewarding those attendees who help us reach those figures again. Quite simply, when a person registers and their ticket number matches each of these key numbers then they will receive a FREE ticket to Auto Assembly 2010!!
We have decided to set these target figures at 320 (Auto Assembly 2004's attendance figure which was our first weekend convention), 400 (Auto Assembly 2006), 409 (when we first broke the European record in 2005), 423 (which is the current European record that we set last year), and 500 which is the "glass ceiling" that every UK convention has been aiming for for years!! The 320 figure was reached a short while ago and the winner is Paul Jones who will receive a free ticket for Auto Assembly 2010 and we are VERY close to reaching the next milestone so anyone who books within the next few days could be ticket number 400 or 409!
Don't worry if you have already pre-registered though as there is still a chance for you to get a ticket for Auto Assembly 2010 as we will once again be running our Pre-Registrant Prize Draw. Every pre-registrant will be entered into a prize draw to win a family ticket to Auto Assembly 2010 and possibly some other prizes as well!
The final one is another biggie and is where we are literally going to be giving away FREE tickets to the convention this year!! This is something brand new we are doing for Auto Assembly 2009 to celebrate the 25th Anniversary of Transformers and to thank everyone for their support over the years. This is something that we secretly started back in June where we did a random draw each time someone registered for the convention. As we receive each booking, we are doing a random draw with a 100-sided die and if we roll a 100 then that person gets the price of their ticket refunded in FULL! This will only apply to pre-registrants who have booked from 1st June 2009 onwards and this is running in parallel with the other competitions so it's possible that someone could get their ticket for this year free AND a ticket for Auto Assembly 2010!

Hi all,
Auto Assembly 2009 is just over four weeks away and is
on course to set a new European attendance record from
pre-registrations alone! However, as the date of the convention is
closing fast, we felt that it was time to remind all of you who haven't
already booked that you need to hurry if you haven't so you can get
your tickets in advance so you don't have to worry about coming along
and paying on the day...
We have now set the cut-off dates for
pre-registrations so you can plan out when you will need to get your
registrations in to us. The dates that your bookings MUST reach us are
as follows:
Standard online bookings for weekend and one-day passes (UK):- 10th August 2009
Standard online bookings for weekend and one-day passes (International):- 3rd August 2009
Standard postal bookings for weekend and one-day passes (UK):- 5th August 2009
Standard postal bookings for weekend and one-day passes (International):- 3rd August 2009
Non-Attendee package purchases (worldwide):- 9:00 pm, 12th August 2009
Please
note that these are the ABSOLUTE latest date that we can accept
bookings and guarantee that your passes will reach you in time for the
convention. If you book after these dates, we will do everything
possible to get your passes to you before the convention takes place
but please bear in mind the time taken for delivery and that we will
have work pressures and we will be preparing, dismantling and packing
all of our equipment for the convention on Wednesday 12th August so NO
bookings will be able to be processed after 9:00 pm on that date.
We
do anticipate that we will have on-the-door places available but at the
moment we do not know how many of these there will be. These will be
announced on the website once pre-bookings close but to ensure your
place pre-registration is recommended.
We have now uploaded a
full programme onto the website so you can see what will be taking
place over the weekend on each day so you can see the benefits of
attending for the full weekend and what you will miss if you only
attend for the single day. We are still adding more though so this is
still not a comprehensive list! We are also still in talks with up to
SIX more guests and should be announcing more soon...!
Our
current batch of single day tickets for the Saturday have almost sold
out although we do have plenty of Sunday and Full Weekend passes
available, along with Non-Attendee packages if you are unable to join
us. To purchase your non-attendee package or tickets, visit the Auto
Asembly website NOW! Non-attendee packages are £60 for UK attendees,
full weekend tickets are £45 for adults and £35 for
children/students/senior citizens with under 5s being FREE. Family
tickets (2 adults and 2 children) are just £145 saving £15! Limited
numbers of single day passes are also available starting from £18.
Don't miss out on your chance to be a part of what is going to be a
great weekend celebrating 25 years of the Transformers!!

looking out for more updates on the convention very soon including an
updated guest list and a list of items in our charity auction...

Hong Kong's Grand Century Place was the location for a Transformers event in Hong Kong recently where a huge Transformers Movie Optimus Prime statue was on display.
Along with the statue various Transformers toys from the history of the line were on display and for sale.
You can see a large gallery on HK-TF (which will be mirrored by some US sites before the day is out) and on Facebook.

hi guys,
i just got news from simon about Neil Kaplan. here's what i have
Win A Personalised Voice Recording From Optimus Prime With Auto Assembly!
If you don't already know, Auto Assembly is in talks to bring Neil Kaplan, the voice of Optimus Prime in Robots In Disguise back to the UK for it's convention this year taking place over the weekend of 15th - 16th August 2009. Neil recently made his return to Transformers to voice characters in Activision's game based on Revenge Of The Fallen, and we are hoping that he will be able to make his welcome return to Auto Assembly as well, following his appearance in 2005 as our guest of honour...
Neil's appearance at Auto Assembly is confirmed subject to the convention receiving sufficient pre-registrations or sales of the non-attendee package to cover Neil's costs. While this figure has not yet been reached, we are confident that - with the support of Transformers fans everywhere - Auto Assembly 2009 can become the first European Transformers convention to play host to THREE voice actors, seeing Neil join Gregg Berger and Ian James Corlett.
As part of Neil's provisional appearance, he will be performing on stage in our script session on the Saturday evening alongside Gregg and Ian in a script written by Transformers legend Simon Furman, as well as taking part in a Q&A Panel at some point during the weekend and being on hand to sign autographs all weekend. For those of you unable to attend and who take up the non-attendee package, Neil's autograph will be in your package should he attend.
To tie-in with his return to Auto Assembly, Neil has graciously offered to provide a personalised voice recording for one lucky convention attendee should he attend this year. This can be anything at all that you want, and you can use it as a mobile phone ring tone, on your website etc. - as long as it is for non-commercial use. To stand a chance of winning this fantastic prize, all you need to do is pre-register for the convention as a WEEKEND attendee or purchase a non-attendee package and you will be entered into the draw which will take place on the weekend.
To purchase your tickets or non-attendee package and have a chance of winning, visit the Auto Asembly website NOW! If you have already registered then you will be automatically entered into the draw! If you have only booked a single day ticket and would like to upgrade to a full weekend pass, watch this space for details soon on how you can do this... Don't miss out on your chance to be a part of what is going to be a great weekend celebrating 25 years of the Transformers!!

Auto Assembly 2009 is set to break all attendance records once again for a European Transformers convention and we are delighted to say that we are going to be joined by fans from not only all over the UK but from all over Europe and from as far afield as America, Singapore and Japan making Auto Assembly 2009 a truly global event.
However, we appreciate that there are many of you who would love to be able to attend the convention but can't attend either because of distance of who are unable to get time off work so once again we are offering a non-attendee package which will allow you to get involved in the convention and get your hands on all of this year's convention goodies and a whole lot more besides...
These non-attendee packages are £60 for anyone living in the UK and £70 for the rest of the world and are fully inclusive of shipping costs. While these are more expensive than passes for the convention, we think they offer exceptional value for money. Why? Well, each non-attendee pack will get you:-
* A Personalised convention pass with your own ticket number
* The FULL Auto Assembly goodie bag containing up to 12 gifts (with more under negotiation)! (the earlier your ticket number, the more gifts will be in your bag. Visit the website to see the full details of what's on offer this year!)
* Entry into all of the Auto Assembly 2009 Pre-registrant prize draws
* The Cybertronian Times Issue 10, signed by ALL our convention guests
* All Hail Megatron Issue 13 convention exclusive variant cover comic
* Auto Assembly 2009 convention exclusive mug
* Auto Assembly 2009 Grimlock keyring
* Full set of Auto Assembly convention exclusive postcards from 2004-2008
* Proxy bidding rights for the Auto Assembly charity auction
* A personalised sketch from a random Auto Assembly 2009 comic artist guest
* The option to use your non-attendee pass at ANY TIME and become a full weekend attendee during the convention by simply turning up at the convention and showing your pass and collecting all of your items on the day for just an additional £10
And that's not all! The first 20 people to buy the non-attendee package will also receive a copy of Apocalypse Comics' retailer exclusive edition of All Hail Megatron #1 or All Hail Megatron #12! This is quite possibly the best non-attendee package we have EVER put together and is an ideal way for you to get involved with the convention if you can't make it this year and potentially your ONLY chance to get this year's convention exclusive comic!
Once you have paid your (or if you live outside the UK) there is nothing more to pay. The only additional charges are for additional postage charges that may be incurred should any competition prizes be won that we may need to ship, or relevant amounts for any auction items that you may win.
To purchase your non-attendee package, visit the Auto Asembly website NOW! If you are able to join us, full weekend tickets are available and are £45 for adults and £35 for children/students/senior citizens with under 5s being FREE. Family tickets (2 adults and 2 children) are just £145 saving £15. Limited numbers of single day passes are also available starting from £18. With less than 12 days still to go, the Transformers Convention based in the Netherlands under the name TF ConVersions will make its presence known for a third straight year. To be held in Nieuwegein at the Merwestein Sport Complex on June 14th, the event has given another update on their site.
The dutch branch of Hasbro inc. has once again agreed to answer questions submitted by fans. Questions must be submitted before the night of saturday june 6th, and can be submitted to raymond-t@tf-conversions.com under the subject VRAAG HASBRO. The best, most funny, or most interesting question wil be answered for the convention.
But there is more Hasbro news on the site of the convention. Hasbro has created a new dutch website to promote the new toys of Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen. Along regular promotions for both the RotF line and the Animated line, a dutch commercial can also be found here. An extra detail about the commercial is the fact that the actor, who voices the dutch Optimus Prime in the TV Spot, is Hero Muller. The actor who dubbed Optimus Prime in the dutch version of the original cartoon in the 80's.
