Are you a kitbasher well you might be interested in this latest mini-announcement from the Auto Assembly team
Due to a line up change, we have unfortunately been left without a kitbasher for this year's event. I'm writing to ask whether anybody would be willing to help us out here.... We are looking for somebody to run a Kitbash segment on both Saturday and Sunday - both will be at 10:00am - 11.30am in one of our side rooms.
Please note - you don't necessarily have to run a workshop with demos etc, but it would be good for an experienced kitbasher to maybe show off some of their work and answer questions / give tips.
If you think you can help, please drop us a line urgently at autoassembly@aol.com

The figure was from the customising class which was assembly and sold onto a dealer at Botcon. It then made its way to Japan, where is was listed on the Auction site and was won by an overseas bidder using the Rinkya bidding service.
Our thanks to Phill and King Grimlock for correcting us on the origins of the figure.
Auto Assembly 2010 Announces Massive Hasbro Giveaway!
Auto Assembly is teaming up with Hasbro again this year for some fantastic competitions this year that will blow everyone away!!
In the past couple of years we have had displays that have included displays of some of the curent toy ranges on offer in the UK and the unveiling the UK's first lucky draw toy that was produced in 2008. But for Auto Assembly 2010, it's going to be awesome...
This year, Hasbro have generously supplied us with no less than THIRTY sets Of the eagerly anticipated Challenge At Cybertron boxed set featuring Universe Cyclonus, Galvertron and Rodimus! This set is not being released in the UK and at the moment, it's not even released in the US and when it is, it will be a Target exclusive!!
To be in with a chance of winning one of these, you MUST be pre-registered for the convention. We will then be holding a random prize draw and 30 lucky winners will be chosen, and winning tickets will be inserted into the attendee packs that you will collect when you arrive at the convention. If you find one, bring it to the Registration Desk to claim your prize!!
If you haven't already booked, there's still time to be in with a chance to win one of these great sets of toys and be entered into some of our other draws that we will be announcing soon...!
To find out more about Hasbro's involvement and some other things they are doing, watch the official announcement video here:-

Tickets are selling fast for the convention and if you want to be a part of this and the prize draw you need to book quickly! Every day we are setting a new attendance record so why not hurry and be a part of Europe's biggest Transformers convention.

Auto Assembly have sent out the following release
Auto Assembly 2010 - The Rush Is ON!!
Every year, the attendance figure for Auto Assembly has grown consistently from its humble beginnings 10 years ago to becoming Europe's largest Transformers convention. One thing that we can always depend on is that no matter how steady bookings are throughout the year - despite the odd surges following major announcements - is that we have a massive rush in the closing couple of weeks when everyone who hasn't booked and wants to attend remembers that they still need to order their tickets..
THAT TIME IS NOW!!
Last year, in the final 18 days we had 85 bookings - 17% of the total
turnout of the convention in the space of just a couple of weeks. We have already set a new European attendance record (at the time of writing this, we have 512 bookings) and with bookings coming in faster than ever, we predict
that the convention could well be a total sell out over the next two weeks or
so.
At the moment we still have approximately 100 full weekend tickets
available and 50 Sunday passes and that's it!
Non-Attendee Packs are also available and there is no limit on the number of these that are available as they are produced to order. If there are going to be any on-the-door tickets available, we won't know about these until about 48 hours before the convention and we will announce this on the convention website. If these are available, we *may* have a limited number of one-day Saturday passes on sale, but the only tickets we can guarantee at the moment are pre-bookings. With the convention being this close, many of you may feel that we have nothing left to announce and that everything you can see on the website it is for this year's convention. Well we still have a LOT more to come...
We have just confirmed our FOURTEENTH guest for this year - Titan comic artist Lee Bradley who is making a return to Auto Assembly and although Lee will only be with us for the Saturday, he'll be involved in a panel with our other comic guests and will be around all day to meet fans providing sketches and will no doubt be around for our Saturday night party! But what other announcements do we have on the way? We are going to be announcing the full list of items in this year's charity auction shortly (which all of our Non-Attendees will be able to bid on), news on some great prize draws we will be running for all pre-registrants, full details and images of this years convention merchandise, and a lot more surprises that we have in store...!
The convention is taking place over the weekend of Friday 13th - Sunday 15th August 2010 at the Holiday Inn Birmingham City Centre, Birmingham, England. There will be Friday and Saturday evening programmes that are exclusive for weekend attendees and the Saturday evening will play host to a massive musical party, costume competition, and the script and disco / karaoke. Auto Assembly have sent out the following reminder that the event is now less than 3 weeks away
Auto Assembly 2010 - Less Than Three Weeks Away
The convention is taking place over the weekend of 13th - 15th August 2010 at the Holiday Inn Birmingham City Centre, Birmingham, England. If you've already booked you know what's in store, but if you haven't, you haven't attended for a few years or haven't made up your minds yet, we wanted to let you know what this year's convention will be like...
A NEW European Attendance Record!!
Last year we had a staggering 501 people at Auto Assembly 2009 making it not only the largest Transformers convention ever seen in Europe but also made us the first European event to break the 500-attendee barrier that we've all been striving for for so long. However, with three weeks to go, we've already set a NEW European record from pre-bookings with 506 at the time of writing! What this means is that we are going to SMASH last year's total. We know a lot of you may be leaving things until the last minute before you book, or may be planning on coming along and paying on the day, but we don't want any of you to be disappointed just because you waited "just one more day"...
Auto Assembly Needs You!
While we have a great line-up of activities and guests spread over the convention weekend, the most important part of the convention is the people who attend it... you guys! Last year, people felt that it had the best atmosphere EVER at an Auto Assembly event and we want to beat that this time and the more people who are there, the better! What could be better than being surrounded by over 500 like-minded people for a few days of fun?!
The Guests
Since we last contacted you, we've updated our guest list and we now have a massive 14 guests attending Auto Assembly 2010. So far we have:-
* Garry Chalk - voice of Optimus Primal in Beast Wars / Beast Machines and Optimus Prime in Armada / Energon / Cybertron
*Scott McNeil - voice of Rattrap, Waspinator, Dinobot and Silverbolt in Beast Wars and Beast Machines
* Derrick J Wyatt - lead character designer for Transformers: Animated
* Jim Sorenson - co-author of the Allspark Almanac
* Bill Forster - co-author of the Allspark Almanac
* Simon Furman - legendary Transformers comic writer
* Nick Roche - IDW comic artist

* Simon Williams - artist
* Liam Shalloo - IDW colourist
* Kris Carter - IDW / Titan colourist
* Jason Cardy - colourist
* Kat Nicholson - colourist
* Lee Bradley - Titan artist (Saturday only)
As you can see from the line-up, Guido Guidi is no longer able to be with us due to family commitments. However, we are now being joined by writer James Roberts. James is Nick Roche's co-writer on the stunning Last Stand Of The Wreckers series, and is also responsible for the critically-acclaimed fan novel Eugenesis.
And ALL of our guests will be on hand all weekend signing autographs and will take to the stage for Q&A sessions. Most of our comic guests will also be sketching for fans during the weekend.
The Activities
It's going to be a packed weekend. Infact it will be so busy that we don't think you'll have time to fit everything in! Starting at around 5:30 pm on Friday until 6:00 pm on Sunday, there will be something for everyone no matter what era of Transformers you are interested in!
The main part of the convention takes place on the Saturday and Sunday between 9:30 am and 5:30 pm but there are bonus programmes on the Friday evening from 5:30 pm until 11:00 pm and Saturday evening from 7:00 pm until 1:00 am so while you can attend for just the one day, it really pays to be there for the full weekend!
But what exactly will the convention be offering? Well, here's a list of some of the things we have planned...

So what games can you expect to find? Well, here are just a few of the highlights...

Where, When And How Much?
So hopefully now that some of you will be thinking of joining us for the weekend, you'll want to know whwre it is and how much it is to get in! Well, the convention runs between Friday 13th - Sunday 15th August 2010 and takes place at the Holiday Inn Birmingham City Centre, Birmingham, England which is right in the city centre.
Tickets are £45 for adults and £35 for children, students and senior citizens with under 5s being free. Reductions are available for family bookings and we also offer special family discounts and reduced rates for one-day tickets although the one-day passes for the Saturday are now sold out so the only single day tickets we have available are for the Sunday.
Late Bookings - Ticket Collection Option
Because the convention is only a few weeks away, some of you may be concerned about booking and receiving your passes in time. We are now sending out passes within 24-48 hours of bookings coming in (and in most cases the same day) but for added reassurance, we can give you the option to have your passes available for collection at the convention instead.
Just book your tickets through the website as normal but as soon as you book, email us and let us know that you want to collect your passes instead. Then just bring your confirmation email with you on the Friday night to collect your pass. Because of the number of people at the event, we can only offer this to weekend bookings.

The Transformers Collectors Club has posted the bio for BotCon 2010 Shattered Glass Ravage online.
Ravage- Good Kitty
"Out of Sight, out of mind. GTG TTYL"
Ravage always wants you to know exactly where he is, and what he is
doing. An endless attention seeker, he can always be found perching
from the top of the most visible structure, excitedly waving his little
paw, hoping you catch a glimpse of him. Megatron has long since ordered
Decepticons to maintain eternal radio silence, not only because of the
possibility of Autobot interference, but because Ravage can't stop
sending radio communications, telling others his location and what his
current moos is. Now that he's on Earth, he's become addicted to social
networking and micro-blogging. Unsurprisingly, none of his fellow
Decepticons have followed through on his friending requests.

Jim Sorenson has updated his blog, The Disciples of Boltax, with comments regarding his and Bill Forster's appearance at Auto Assembly 2010.
I've got some news that I find incredibly exciting. This year, both
Bill Forster and I have been invited to Auto Assembly, Europe's
largest Transformers convention. As I haven't been to England since
2006, I'm extremely excited to get the chance to go back and mingle with
the terrific fan community out there. In addition to hanging around
and making a nuisance of ourselves all weekend, we're tentatively
planning to use our time on Sunday to give a brief presentation on some
behind-the-scenes artwork from various generations that hasn't been
published before, before shifting to a traditional Q&A session.
Other great guests include Derrick Wyatt, Garry Chalk, Scott McNeil,
Simon Furman, Nick Roche, Guido Guidi, and many more. This looks like a
must-attend convention if you're native to the British Isles. If you
were at all on the fence about coming to this con, I strongly urge you
to preregister now, as the spots are filling up quickly and there's no
worse feeling than having to turn someone away from an event like this.
I have to extend my warmest thanks to the convention organizers and especially to Steve and David Mapes from Transformers At The Moon for making this happen. I love smaller conventions, so it really is quite an honor to be invited. AA at AA... feels like a natural fit, doesn't it?

Auto Assembly 2010 Announces More Guests!
We're less than four weeks away from Auto Assembly 2010 but that hasn't stopped us from adding even more to our line-up to make this the best convention we have ever put together...
We are now proud to announce the addition of TWO more guests to the convention in the shape of Jim Sorenson and Bill Forster, writers of the Allspark Almanac and it's newly released follow-up! Making their European convention debut, they will be on hand all weekend to meet and talk to fans and sign autographs and they will be taking to the stage on the Sunday to give a presentation and take questions about their work on what is considered to be one of the best Transformers books released for years.
Their appearance at Auto Assembly 2010 has been made possible thanks to the incredibly generous sponsorship from Steve and David Mapes from Transformers At The Moon (www.transformertoys.co.uk) and means that the convention will have THREE major Transformers Animated guests this year, and all of them will be on stage in turn on the Sunday. If you have even the slightest interest in Transformers Animated, you won't want to miss this year's event!
That's not all though, adding to that the convention exclusive edition of IDW's Transformers Issue 9 with an exclusive cover by Nick Roche and Liam Shalloo, a concert by Garry Chalk, a live script performance featuring Garry Chalk and Scott McNeil from a BRAND NEW script written exclusively for the convention by Simon Furman, a Saturday night disco and karaoke with singing by Scott McNeil, dealers, 13 confirmed guests with talks, autographs, competitions, workshops, displays, and a video games area showcasing 25 years of Transformers video games... could you ask for anything more?!
And we still have lots more to announce...!
We have frozen the ticket prices for the convention from Auto Assembly 2009 and full weekend tickets are £45 for adults and £35 for children, students and senior citizens, with under 5s admitted free. Family tickets (2 adults and 2 children) are available for £145.
One day tickets for Saturday have sold out, but one day tickets for Sunday are still available and cost £25 for adults, £18 for children, students or senior citizens and under 5's as always are free. However as they are limited, if you want to come along for just the day then you need to book NOW!
Because of the rate that bookings are coming in, and the popularity of the one-day passes last year, we cannot guarantee that single day tickets will be available to purchase on the door and it is looking likely that we may not have ANY on-the-door places available for the full weekend so pre-registration this year is a must!
For more details on the convention, to see a full list of all the guests and activities taking place over the weekend, or to book your tickets, visit the website at www.autoassembly.org.uk
We hope to see you all in August 2010.
