 That was the news from BotCon confirming that BotCon 2011 Drag Strip will be shown off later today, around midnight UK Time.

Although there were not any TakaraTomy stands at this years event, we thought you may be interested in the several galleries which the Cyber Gundam Blog has from the Winter WonderFest.

Our own webmaster will be flying back from Japan tomorrow so will have more first hand photos and a review of the event.

Since today it is certain, the C.O.N.S. 2011 on the 24th of July, opens the doors in a new and bigger location!

After the initial announcement that the Botcon 2011 theme would be one of Transformers Animated, Fun Publications have updated the Official Botcon website with more information including the images of the first exclusive form this years boxset a recoloured Jazz as the Stunticon Dead End. Just realized SO many stories and/or TF continuities (as a whole) were told in installments/seasons of 3... Well, get ready for Season 3.5!

The Transformers Collectors Club website has been updated with a preview of the current issue.

"Issue 37 of the TCC Magazine will be arriving to club members over the next couple of weeks. This issue kicks off the 2011 club comic story line "Battlelines", the sequel to 2010's "The Coming Storm". If you want to get caught up on the overall story before you read "Battlelines", visit the club store and pick up any of the issues you may be missing; Timelines Issue 4, Club Magazine Issue's 31-36.

"Battlelines" is just the start of what we have in store for you in this great issue! All of the winners from the 2010 Club Membership drive's contests will be revealed including the "Design a TCC Magazine Cover" Contest winner, whose art you can see right now by clicking the image!

We also have some more great MTMTE profiles, an interview with Hasbro's Bill Rawley and to top it off we are introducing a new feature: Screamers Retro-views with Rosemary Ward, everyone's favorite G1 cosplayer! Simon Plumbe, head of Auto Assembly has tweeted the following announcement on the Auto Assembly Twitter page.

"Big Auto Assembly 2011 news coming soon along with our first announcement about Auto Assembly 2012...!"

Transformations 2011 has been cancelled, announces organiser Paul Cannon on the official website.  Transformations 2011 was going to be a London based Transformers Convention taking place in April 2011, the first since Paul's previous Transformers convention Transforce stopped running a few years ago.  According to the website, the event was cancelled simply due to a lack of registrations.

This means that the UK is back to being a single dedicated Transformers Convention with Auto Assembly.  There are other events that take place during the year which include Transformers, but there is no other dedicated event.

For those of us who were fortunate enough to attend Transforces in the past, I can tell you that, with the exception of the last TransForce, each event saw the convention grow with an atmosphere similar to the last two Auto Assembly's.

The UK's newest Transformers Convention, Transformations, have announced that tickets are now on sale.  Tickets for the convention cost £26­­ and if you buy them between now and January 3rd you get early entrance to the show which takes place on Saturday 16th April 2011 at the Fairfield Halls Croydon.

Transformations is run by Paul Cannon who use to run the UK Transformers Convention TransForce.

All Hail Megatron writer Shane McCarthy!!!

Shane McCarthy (Mac) presently resides in Perth, Western Australia, officially one of the top ten most furtherest away from everywhere places on the planet.

He is currently employed as a freelance writer, working for the likes of DC and Marvel Comics, and is still in awe at the unyielding enjoyment levels brought about by his 1970’s Atari version of Pong. Amongst other things Shane has worked on BATMAN LEGENDS OF THE DARK KNIGHT, DETECTIVE COMICS, DARK X-MEN, STAR WARS and wrote the twelve issue maxi-series TRANSFORMERS: ALL HAIL MEGATRON.

When not delving into the topsy turvy world of comics, Shane can be found teaching and dancing the ‘Lindy Hop’ – a 1930s swing dance which involves big pants and throwing women around.
