BotCon has annouced it's fourth guest as Morgan Loftin, better known to many of as as The Baroness from the original GI Joe / Action Force cartoon series.
She voiced Firestar and Moonracer, two of the female Autobots in the G1 episode "The Search for Alpha Trion".
Though a bit of an off Transformers guest, having the voice of the original Baroness set to voice Drag Strip at the BotCon script reading will be interesting.
Botcon have announced their 2nd voice actor guest as none other than Generation One Grimlock voice actor Gregg Berger. Greg will be joining David Kaye at the event which takes place next month. If this line-up of guests at a Transformers Convention in 2011 seems familiar then you are not mistaken, both of these men will be in attendance at the Europe's largest Transformers Convention Auto Assembly in August.
Botcon have announced their second guest for the 2011 event, Flint Dille. Here is a copy of the announcement
FLINT DILLE has
spent most of his creative life on the porous border between the game
business and the film business. He has designed games with Gary Gygax
and written movies for Steven Spielberg. His friend, Frank Miller,
immortalized him as Dillios (a Spartan-ization of Dille), the narrator
in 300. Flint has twice won 'Game Script of the Year' (Riddick: Escape from Butcher Bay and Dead to Rights and is up for awards for Ghostbusters and Dark Athena.
He has worked on numerous franchises including Transformers (writer on Transformers: The Movie), G.I. Joe, James Bond, Batman (in Guinness Book of Videogame Records for having created the first Batman villain outside of the comics), Superman, Dungeons & Dragons, American Tail, Teen Titans, Scooby-Doo (writing a story about the guy who made all of those rubber costumes) and is the grandson of the originator of Buck Rogers.
He has a degree in Ancient History from U.C. Berkeley and an MFA from
USC. He is also a consultant to the intelligence community.
Don't miss this opportunity to meet Flint at the
2011 BotCon in Pasadena, Calif. for autographs and a very special panel
on Saturday, June 4th!
David Kaye updated his Twitter account with the following announcement:
"Will be appearing @BotCon this year. Friday June 3 1 to about 4. Look forward to seeing you there!"
This was then followed by the Botcon Twitter account also tweeting in reference to the first voice actor guest announcement for the event
"Looks like @dkayevo broke the news! David Kaye will be at BotCon 2011 for autographs and a very special panel. Details coming later!"
For those UK'ers and European who can not attend Botcon do not fear as David will be attending this years Auto Assembly so you will have another chance to meet the voice of Megatron and Optimus Prime
BotCon have tweeted that now 75% of Generation Two Ramjets and 50% of Animated Cheetors have now gone.
They have also hinted at another Transformers Animated Beast Warsfigure at BotCon, saying Cheetor will be a must have for anyone who will be BotCon. His Souvenir partner won't look right without him!
The Transformers Collectors Club have updated their website to take orders for Cheetor and G2 Ramjet as of about 10 minutes ago. Unfortunately the Fun Publications servers are already started to creek under the strain and appear to have issues validating international credit cards, though I encourage you to keep trying, personally I ended up using a debit card that it could authorise.
The website also has the habit of kicking you out so make sure that its remembered that you have signed in if you are a member and are trying to order
Following up from yesterday's video update, the Auto Assembly team have issued the following press release
Auto Assembly

And that's
not all... we're having a bit of a video frenzy on Youtube this week! We've

We're doing a
lot more work on the convention at the moment as well and our Committee Head

making inroads into catching up on all the paperwork following all of the
personal issues he has had to deal with over the last 8 months and as well as
working on some great stuff for Auto Assembly 2011 that we'll be announcing soon, we have
some fantastic plans ahead for Auto Assembly 2012 and beyond and you can expect to hear
more from us on these shortly...
You will have
noticed that our website hasn't been updated for some time and this has been
a direct
result of Simon's personal circumstances, but the site has just undergone a

which you can download.
Finally, if

addresses (most notably hotmail and yahoo) do have some problems receiving
email from us.
We are also
trying to finalise the despatching of the AA2010 Non-Attendee Packages. The
delay of
these has been frustrating for us this time around and has been out of our
control. We
are looking to see if we can include extra items for everyone who has placed
orders for
them, but it is our intention to ship these in the next 3-4 weeks at the
latest.

The Auto Assembly team have posted a new video update over on YouTube with news regarding both Auto Assembly 2011 and Auto Assembly 2012. You can watch the announcement below.
Seibertron.com are reporting that the 2011 Tokyo Toy Fair will have more exclusive Transformers toys this year, in the form of Black Transformers United Cybertronian Optimus Prime and Cybertronian Megatron. These figures are more commonly seen as the War for Cybertron toys.
This year we managed to invite a special guest to the C.O.N.S. 2011.
Simon Furman, the comicartist of IDW, will do us the honour, to visit the C.O.N.S. 2011, in order to get to know his fans in Germany.
Today we can proudly present you two C.O.N.S. 2011 exclusives. The first one is an exclusive T-shirt which will only be available at the C.O.N.S. itself. It will be printed live on-site, right before your eyes by 2 MEJG Art & Design. Here are the pictures from the front and back:
Another C.O.N.S. 2011 exclusive is a coupling-out of the new CD of the rockband Rampage. This coupling-out will be the sing "Letz go Transform", which will be played live and exclusively on the C.O.N.S. 2011 on the 24th of July. This is a picture detail of the backside of the exclusive CD, because the rest of the cover shall still stay a surprise.
iGearToys have updated their facebook page some in-hand images of this years Botcon 2011 exclusive Wildrider figure. You can view the mirrored images below.
A news story which interests me, and I know of at least one other UK Transformers fan who will like this, but Mandarake have listed a book which includes images of what is stated to be all the Generation One Kabaya Kits.
Having spent a lotof money in Mandarake stores, it appears more will be going to them with the publication of this book.
BotCon have confirmed that the BotCon Stunticon set has sold out.
BotCon Primus and Iacon and loose packages are now all sold out!
That's right, it took just a little over 5 days for all of the toy packages to be gone!
If you tried to place an order before today and your order went to
our incomplete file, no worries as we have pulled enough sets to cover
all of the incompletes. If we have any sets left after we work the
incompletes, we will put them back into inventory. We will let you know
if this happens, and it won't be for a couple of weeks. There will not
be anymore Iacon (non-attending sets).
Also, we will not be keeping a waiting list.
Please note that we are in the middle of GIJoeCon in Florida so we won't be working the incomplete files until after April 9.
We know who you are and we will follow back up with you then. Please be patient.
We still have Protoform packages available.
We look forward to seeing you in Pasadena in a couple of months!
Stay tuned for upcoming guest information!
Brian
Earlier in the week they confirmed that this year also saw the most number of people buying multiple sets, for what they thought was display reasons - but will probably actually be to sell on.
Seibertron.com have an interview with head Auto Assemly organiser Simon Plumbe covering this years edition of the UK's Largest Transformers convention (Auto Assembly 2011) and next years convention (Auto Assembly 2012) which is proving to potentially be huge.
Read up on the convention then book your tickets whilst there are still places.
The loose sets of the Botcon 2011 exclusive figures have not officially sold out. In an email update to registrants, Fub Publications also confirmed that both Custom Class have also sold out. With the event selling well despite the problems with the registration system, this is great news for the future of the convention as if demand continues to grow the number of guest and exclusives could also grow in future years
