In his
latest blog update, Simon Furman gives some hints on some of the characters that we will all see in Issue 2 of Beast Wars: The Ascending. Here is a quote.
"
The strands culled from Beast Wars II and Beast Wars Neo are paramount
in this issue, as we start to see exactly what (and who) is causing
things to go so badly wrong on Cybertron and why Predacon General
Magmatron is so desperate to stop it (even it means declaring a truce
with his bitter enemy, Razorbeast). It's been great fun trying to pull
all these various story strands from the US and Japanese TV series
together for this series (a process started back when Ben Yee and I
collaborated on the upcoming Beast Wars Profiles series), not to
mention bringing yet more characters into one, cohesive (I hope) Beast
Wars universe. So, we have debuts for the likes of Drancron, Rartorata
and Elephorca, plus the Magnaboss trio of Prowl, Ironhide and
Silverbolt (the G1 characters). For those who enjoyed his fleeting
appearance in The Gathering, there's more of Big Convoy to savour. Oh,
and on Earth, we continue a humungous battle between Razorbeast's
Maximals and Ravage's Predacons (which ties directly into events in the
US BW TV series), plus the arrival (in that era) of Lio Convoy and The
Pack (Stampy's fast becoming a favourite of mine). Grimlock's in there
too of course! And, well, all I can say is, poor Razorbeast! Beast
Wars The Ascending #2 hits stores in September."

In his latest
blog update Simon Furman has posted some teasers regarding Transformers Devastation Issue 2.
"There are two main story strands in issue #2 (though inevitably other
sub-plots simmer onwards as well). One is Sixshot and his opening
salvo, aimed directly at Earth's Autobot Tactical Response Unit
(actually, that happens in issue #1, but the falloutliterallyspreads
onwards into issue #2). Not known for his subtlety, Sixshot is pretty
much going to blow things wide open (again, literally!) in the saga as
a whole. Then there's Hot Rod and Wheeljack, who are off on their own
mission (those of whom have wondered about the fate of Ironhide from
Escalation #6, all will be revealed), one with a truly

Simon Furman has
updated his blog with information that he, Nick Roche and Chris Ryall will all be at Orbital Comics in London for signings.
I'll have my head in the sky on Saturday June 9th, when I'll be
appearing at Orbital Comics in London along with IDW Editor-in-Chief
(and co-writer of the Transformers Movie Prequel) Chris Ryall and
artist Nick Roche (Spotlight Shockwave, Hot Rod and Kup). We'll be
signing from 12 noon to 1PM (so before the Mark Millar signing down the
road at FP), and all comers are welcome to pop along and say hi and get
our scrawl all over your nice pristine comics and TPBs. There's more
than a good chance one or all of us will get carried away and impart
details of upcoming Transformers goodness, so don't miss out. Orbital
can be found at 148 Charing Cross Road, London WC2H 0LB (just a stone's
throw from Tottenham Court Road tube station/Centrepoint). Their phone
number is 020 7240 7672.

In his latest blog update, Simon Furman talks about the Bristol Expo which he recently attended and gives a little round up for those who, like us, could not attend the event. Here are some quotes
Lots of interest in the forthcoming (in July) Transformers UK mag and
I, er, let slip that issue #4 (featuring Devastator) will be drawn by
none other than Don Figueroa."So that makes Geoff Senior for Issue 1 (Prime), Nick Roche Issue 2 (Megatron), Andrew Wildman Issue 3 (Ratchet) and Don Figueroa Issue 4 (Devastator). Simon goes to mention some other artists who are in the frame for other issues. Those artists are Dougie Braithwaite and Guido Guidi
. On the IDW front Simon mentions that at the event he did
"reveal that while there will indeed be IDW Headmasters,
it's more character multiples than multiple characters (at least to
start with). Might have also mentioned that while there will be no
Unicron in the Infiltration/Escalation/Devastation (and so on)
storyline, there might, possibly, be a passing mention of the
planet-devourer in Beast Wars!!To read the artilce in full, visit Simon's blog

The following was posted on Simon Furman's
blog:
The schedule of events (as relates to me anyway) for this coming Saturday's Bristol Comics Expo has now expanded to include a signing at the Titan Books/Magazines table. Also confirmed for the signing is Geoff Senior (and Steve White will be around too, hopefully with more news about the TFUK magazine). I'll be packing a bunch of (photocopied) original scripts from Transformers (Marvel US) #80, on sale (signed if you so wish) for a mere £5. The full schedule for the day (Saturday 12th May) is now:
12 noon - 1PM: Titan signing (at the Titan table in the main dealers room)
3PM - 4PM: Draw The World Together signing (at the DTWT table) with Andrew Wildman.
5PM - 6PM: Talking Transformers panel (at the Ramada Park Suite), with Andrew, Geoff and (hopefully) others.
For full details of venues, etc, go to the official Comics Expo site

The UKs own and Transformers legendary writer, Simon Furman, has once again updated his blog, this time with a little preview behind issue 4 of the yet released new UK exclusive Transformers comic.
In Simon's words Issue 4 of the comic will contain "
a 10-page (movie continuity) story focusing on the Decepticon Devastator". Simon goes on to mention that "
Issues #1-6 all feature largely self-contained, character-led stories which are laced into the IDW Movie Prequel storyline.". Readers will be pleased to hear that the "
six one-shots have a linking ongoing theme, something along the (framework) lines of Aspects of Evil or Perchance to Dream". Two of the more popular UK black and white stories which helped to much to bring many of the minor characters to life for UK fans. Simon mentiones that "
Issues #3-6 are much less tied to the main (Prequel) storyline, the characters involved sidetracked somewhat and given a chance to shine (or behave badly) solo (or mostly solo). We deliberately, in these latter four issues particularly, went for characters not featured heavily (or at all) in the Prequel (hence Devastator)".

There has been quiet a bit of talk regarding the new Transformers Comic from Titan Books, to be realeased later this year. Well now you can read what Steve White and Simon Furman had to say after we quizzed them over the comic.
Steve White:Thanks for getting in touch. Regarding your enquiry, the comic has been on
the cards for almost two years, and is entirely unrelated to anything being
produced by Tiatn Books. It was only natural that Simon should be writing
it, whilst Geoff, thrilled to hear about a new comic, decided to come out of
retirement to do the strip for the first issue - which is now confirmed.
Nick Roche then Andy Wildman will be taking over the art chores for issues 2
and 3. I'm awaiting confirmations from other artists but there'll be more
news on that as it arrives.
Best wishes,
Steve
Simon Furman:It is definitely a comic/magazine, first issue scheduled for July 19th,published by Titan. The mag will contain strip and features, and of the strip 10pp each issue will be newly originated. The UK strip will be (new) movie-continuity (written by me) and though self-contained in and of
themselves will be tied directly into the IDW Prequel series (which the mag will reprint).
Scheduled artists (though this may be subject to change) include Geoff Senior, Andrew Wildman and Nick Roche. It'll be UK newsstand format. First free gift is apparently Transformers dogtags.
Cheers

Seibertron
have some more information regarding yesterday's rumoured UK exclusive Transformers Comic from Titan Book. The information once again originated from
TransFans.net.
A few titbits of interest. Andy Wildman and Nick Roche have joined the artist ranks.
Also, the first free gift (if that's your thang) will be TF dogtags -
Autobot and Decepticon. FYI, first issue goes on sale 19th July.
Had a truly massive (and surprisingly) international response to my
posting, which I'm very pleased about. Anybody sending in art or
letters to my email address - can you mark it FAN ART please
