Auto Assembly: Target 2006 Major News Update!

Hi everyone!

We're only SIX days away now from Auto Assembly: Target 2006 on 3rd June
here in Birmingham, England and we thought we'd bring you another news update
covering a few key areas of the convention. We've got important updates on
bookings, the charity auction and more besides...

BOOKINGS

Bookings are still coming in and we want to update you all on the situation
here. For everyone who has pre-registered so far, we have now sent out all of
the confirmation slips/packs for everyone who has pre-registered up to
midnight  on Friday 26th May 2006. All of bookings we have received since then will
be  posted out Tuesday 30th May by first class post and should reach you by
Thursday  1st June at the latest.

However, for those of you who do live in the UK and who have not pre-booked
there is STILL time to pre-register IF you book in the next 48 hours! As long
as  we receive your booking online by 10:00 am on Tuesday 30th May, we will be
able  to process them and send them out the same day. We can't guarantee to
process  any bookings received beyond this point.

At 11:00 am on 30th May we will be making the final draw to see who is
taking part in the consulation exercise taking place at the convention so you
still have a chance to get involved in that part of the convention as  well!!

PLACES REMAINING

At the time of writing, there are approximately 130 places left for Auto
Assembly: Target 2006 including on-the-door places which is fewer than last
year. While Auto Assembly 2005 was NOT a complete sell out, we have had
considerably more bookings than last year at this point and we are expecting to  have
more places confirmed in the next couple of days that have been  provisionally
reserved so this figure will be reduced. With expected local press  coverage
also expected prior to the convention we still STRONGLY recommend  pre-booking
while you still can.

CHARITY AUCTION

For those of you interested, we are hoping to be able to take credit card
payments (via PayPal) for items in the charity auction. We are currently working
on having internet access at the convention although this will be for
admistrative use only. We must stress that such payments will be subject to a 5%
handling fee as we are charged by PayPal for all payments received. We will
also  be able to accept card payments for purchases from the Auto Assembly
registration desk for merchandise including copies of our event magazine, other
items and Titan Books graphic novels that we will be selling.

GUIDO GUIDI SKETCHES

Guido Guidi will be doing sketches for fans at Auto Assembly although we
have been asked by sponsors TF Auctions to stress that - because of time - these
will be limited although Guidi will be happy to sign autographs throughout
the  day.

GOODIE BAG UPDATE

While we were preparing the goodie bag, we have been able to confirm the
exact numbers of most of the items we have available in the packs for everyone
this year. The situation is as follows:- Ladbird G1 books (first 139
attendees),  G2 Colouring/Activity books (first 294 attendees), Cards Inc G1 Stickers
(first  340 attendees), and for every attendee are:- Auto Assembly Postcard #002
(Simon  Williams), Auto Assembly Postcard #003 (Guido Guidi), Model &
Collector's  Mart magazine, and a bag of Transform-A-Snacks. We are still waiting for
a  delivery of assorted items from Metrodome which will include various
postcards  but we don't know how many of these there will be.

COLOURING COMPETITION

One for all our younger attendees... we've got a free competition lined up.
Just pick up a colouring sheet with a lineart version of one of our postcards
and a FREE pack of colouring pencils from the registration desk and just hand
your entry in later in the day to be judged by some of our guests. We've got
some great prizes on offer for the winners!

* * *

Well, that's it for this update so you've only got TWO DAYS to decide if  you
want to pre-register but we want to see as many of you there as possible to
help us break the European Transformers Convention attendance record for the
second year running! It's going to be another great event and we'd love to see
you all there. Book online or find out more at _www.autoassembly.org.uk_
(http://www.autoassembly.org.uk)  to decide if  you want to come along on the day
and we hope to see you all on Saturday!

Older NewsThanks to Autobase Aichi, both The Allspark and Seibertron report that Amenbo.com have put up a listing for a toy they report as Convoy Perfect Edition, or Convoy Complete Version as we translate it. Seibertron report that the product page lists the toy as having a 'real trailer' and The AllSpark as having a container but shows an image of the original MP toy. You can find the product order page for Convoy Complete Version by clicking that link.
Unfortuantly the website is not working at the moment, so we can not confirm the translation of the product page but the main site referes to new listings for "Masterpiece Starscream, Convoy Complete Version".

More once we can load the product page

Older NewsWith just ten days to go before Auto Assembly: Target 2006 on 3rd June in Birmingham, England we thought we'd bring you a reminder of some of the activities taking place for those of you still undecided about whether or not to attend this year's convention as well as some news on a few more developments...

We have a great guest line-up headlined by none other than DAVID KAYE, the voice of Megatron for the last ten years! Backing him up is legendary Transformers writer Simon Furman and our array of super artists - Andrew Wildman, Lee Sullivan, Geoff Senior, Guido Guidi, Simon Williams, Jasno Cardy and Mike Collins!

We also have a massive range of dealers who will have a superb range of Transformers toys and merchandise on offer ranging from vintage G1 toys up to the latest releases. There will be plenty of bargains to be had including massive discounts on a range of graphic novels from Titan Books through the Auto Assembly registration desk, some great items from Simon Furman and Andrew Wildman, and a few of the dealers present will even be running free prize draws to win some great toys!!

But it's not just about guests and dealers... we will have a massive art display showcasing artwork from Transformers comics throughout the years including the original UK Marvel titles, Dreamwave, Panini, 3H, along with original toy box art and artwork we have commissioned from top transformers artists for our own convention exclusive postcards and magazines. Featured artists will include Andrew Wildman, Guido Guidi, Dan Khanna, Lee Sullivan, Simon Williams, Jeff Anderson and more! Next to that will be our traditional toy display.

Not content with that, there will be video screenings throughout the day, the unique fan consultation event being undertaken by the British company making a new Transformers product throughout the day, a bar, plenty of chances for you to catch up with old friends (or make new ones!), competitions, and our charity fundraising activities including a raffle and auction...

The charity auction this year is looking fantastic and we have some wonderful items up for grabs. We have signed autographs from (amongst others) Dan Gilvezan (G1 - Bumblebee), Mike McConnohie (G1 - Tracks, Cosmos; RiD - Ironhide, Hotshot), Neil Ross (G1- Slag, Springer etc), Wally Wingert (RiD - Sideburn, Mirage), and Neil Kaplan (RiD - Prime), original artwork from Andrew Wildman, Guido Guidi, Lee Sullivan, and Simon Williams, signed comics, a signed script to GI Joe vs Transformers: The Art Of War #4, and the two highlights of this year's auction... personalised voice mail recordings from Mike McConnohie and David Sobolov (BW - Depth Charge)!

But that's not all... we've had more great news regarding the goodie bag this year and even though we've only got a few days to go before the convention, we've just added ANOTHER free gift for attendees!! Thanks to Transformers DVD producers Metrodome, we'll be including postcards in packs for the first 400 or so attendees at the convention. We don't know exactly how many we will have but as these are limited you only have a few days left to have a chance to get your hands on these if you haven't already booked! The postcards are some of the ones that have been included in the DVD box sets but they're a great extra if you don't already have them.

Also, thanks to Metrodome, we will be getting a selection of DVD box sets that we will be giving away in the raffle, for prizes in our competitions and some rare DVD test discs from some of their box sets in the auction including - for the first time ever - Transformers: Masterforce!!

We DO have places available for you to pre-register and you still have time to get the Metrodome goodies but you'll need to book quickly! As we have said before, we are likely to have on-the-door places but we don't know how many so pre-registration is the best way to guarantee admission, especially if you have a long way to travel!

With just TEN DAYS to go, you've only got a few days to make up your mind about whether you want to attend Auto Assembly: Target 2006 so book online now at www.autoassembly.org.uk and we hope to see you next weekend!
