In addition to the white Convoy-themed iPod dock and the MP3 playing
transformable Soundwave, reports from the Japanese Toy Forum trade show
indicate we'll also be seeing Rumble and Frenzy earphones sometime in
July, retailing for 3150 yen (about 28 dollars). They will transform,
as well as serve as legitimate earphones for an iPod. That's the news The Allspark reported a few hours ago, from the Japanese Toy Fair.

BBTS also have another new product listing, this time for a working
Soundwave MP3 player, available in white and blue. You can view the
product listing
here.
Their product listing is as follows
An inventive combination of exciting products, the new Soundwave MP3 player features an all new character mold and fully functional integrated digital music player! Soundwave is available in two colors, the traditional blue color scheme and also an all white color scheme in honor of the iPod. Soundwave's cassette door opens to reveal a Mini SD card reader (Mini SD card is not included). Batteries are requierd, but not included, we are currently not sure what size batteries are required. More information about this cool new MP3 player will be posted as we receive it. Takara requires us to buy equal amounts of each color, so be sure to grab your favorite or save $15 and get both together. The MP3 player will function in both cassette mode and robot mode. We expect this figure to be slightly smaller than the G1 Soundwave so it can fit comfortably in your pocket.

It's a pretty slow news day, so I thought I'd liet everyone know that
AcToys have some interesting images of knock-off's of the G1 Horrocons,
Snapdragon and
Apeface. I'm not sure how old the knock-offs are, I would doubt they are new, but are quiet interesting to see.

Whilst we were busy photographing Gold Megalo Convoy, I-Primus got to work on a
gallery of Alternator Ravage (Jaguar edition). It's interesting to note his toy is mis-formed, with two right paws (making him quiet unique). So far we've not seen anyone else with the same problem.
Comment on I-Primus' work
here, he was the first person to get around to doing it.

Sven of
Auto Assembly fame popped by to let us know:-
The Summer Memorabiia fair at the NEC has moved date. Usually taking place in mid-August the event will now be taking place over the weekend of 7th and 8th of July. This falls very nicely with the expected change of UK release date of the movie to either the first or second weekend in July.
Sources within the Memorabilia management team have also made it very clear that Hasbro is very involved in this years Summer event, so keep your eye and ears open UK peeps.

The Hollywood Reporter has an article on their website called Transforming "Transformers". In the article Paramount Pictures executive vp international
marketing Jon Anderson is quoting as saying that
"We really recognize the fact that for most people, 'Transformers' are
a toy ....[snip] .... Our job is to change that
perception.". The article goes on to quote Mr Anderson on the impact that they (Paramount) wish to make on exhibitors.
"(We want) to
make sure that the exhibition community understands its full scope as
well, .... We are lucky enough to have some fantastic footage
that we will be taking around the world. The reactions have been
sensational so far."
What is also interesting to note, in the article, is that states that most of the major territories will have a concurrent release of the film with the US. The major terriroties are listed as including Australia/New Zealand, Germany,
Italy, Russia and the Nordic countries. This is great news for Nordic fans, as the previous announced release date for those territories was August 3rd. A concurrently release in Russia is a major suprise, as previous rumours had suggested a December 2007 release. As far as we are aware, this is also the first official announcement of the Australian and New Zealand releases.
One of the reasons behind the concurrent release is to do with piracy with another major factor being the 'buzz'. Anderson is quoted as saying
"On the big titles, we are moving much closer to the U.S. release
dates [snip] Obviously, piracy is a serious issue these days
... but it's also about the event nature of some of the films. You
really want to be out there when the buzz is coming around the world,
as it can be a tremendous boost in getting that all-important
boxoffice.".
For those countries not mentioned specifically, there is a note that by mid-August the entire world will be covered by the film. Paramount are kean to push the film as being as big as Spider-man 3 and Pirates of the Caribbean: At Worlds End.
The article then goes on to speak breifly about the Japanese trailer and why it was different to the US release. Once of the reasons is listed as
"Notwithstanding the theme of robots being ever so popular in Japan, PPI
also plans to reinforce the film's other thematic elements such as
family and teen romance that, while resonating across the globe, elicit
particular reactions in Japanese audiences.".
You can read the article in full

It's not new, but I've only just seen it. One of the members of AcToys, WhoisYoung, made a really cool G1 Transformers game in Flash. I've only got up to Devastator - level 2 boss, but he's gone quite a bit of work on it.
You can see the thread with the controls - which I didn't read .. the controls that is, on
AcToys and then find the flash game
here.
Great fun, well don eWhoisYoung

Whilst at our local Argos this morning we noticed that the Titaniums as well as Classics Jetfire are still listed as out-of-stock, but what we also found out was that they are still selling the several Cybertron toys and have Unicron, Skywarp and Downshift in stock. Which product numbers you have to use to get them though, we could not find out.
