UK games mag GAMESMASTER has reviewed the upcoming PS2 Transformers game based on Armada. It got a pretty respectable 88%.
The pros were basically :
Stunningly beautiful graphics.
Extremely entertaining action and frantic combat.
Huge levels.
Minicon interaction makes things in depth.
Great boss battles.
The cons were :
Although the levels are huge, the sections are easy to bypass.
It"s too easy to get lost.
The Autobots are so big and robot-like that it makes certain platform sections difficult.
All in all, they said it was very good, but not a classic.
If you want to pick up the issue, it"s the one with the huge Optimus Prime on the cover, and the free Lion Bar.

Thanks to Jeremy Barlow, Webmaster of
SoundwavesOblivion Toy Archive, for dropping us an email to let everyone know that he was contacted by Toyfare magazine a few weeks ago, requesting a photograph of the Japanese Master Piece Optimus Prime. The picture is featured in their latest issue on page 103, that is out now (issue 81, May 2004). He has scanned a copy which you can see
here and the original photograph
here. Its nice to see UK sites being contacted for a change.

Q: I have been seeing pictures of a new AUTOBOT helicopter. Is this a new ENERGON version of SPRINGER? If not, what will its real name be?
A: This new AUTOBOT helicopter is BULKHEAD.
Q: There has been some discussion as to what happens to the prototypes/mockups after they are presented at Toy Fair and various other events that Hasbro attends. Are they put away for possible future use? Are they discarded? Do fans have the opportunity to acquire them?
A: Prototype toys are not made for prolonged play and have not passed safety requirements. Hasbro does not sell or store prototype toys for this reason. Prototype samples are created for production proofing, internal presentations or Toy Fair and are not cleared through Quality Assurance. Hasbro does not sell or give away prototypes at all. Any prototypes that fans may have seen for sale on websites have been obtained through unauthorized means.

TFans for the time being, and Transformers.net appears to have a problem with their database or script timeout settings. If you are after these sites we suggest you try again later in the day

We received our Pre-Reg pack yesterday. Must say it was very nice to have a map of the area and not just the normal information pack. More of the conventions should supply these, it is a vey good idea for people who have not been to the area before or who are coming from longer distances as they can see what other things there are to do and see whilst at the event. Nice Pre-REg cards too.
In related news Simon has posted a mini update on our message board
