In an update to what was announced at the end of Auto Assembly 2005, the official attendance figure for the event now stands at 409 and not 406. We have updated our Convention page
here.
Remember, attendees of the 2005 convention can pre-register already for the 2006 event.

In his regular Sunday updates, Don Murphy posted the following on his message board
here.
- Until a script shows up there is NOTHING to report.
- The script was supposed to show up this week - I believe the big man got it and gave notes .... the rest of us .... will get it NEXT week.
- Once there is a script Michael Bay can finally decide .... or we are back several pegs.
- Once there is a script I can see what changes I want to lobby for.
- Once there is a script we can start hiring people. It is all about the script. I look forward to it probably late in the day Friday...
- The plans for Comicon are getting better. I have a vision of the room filled with thousands of free bags promoting the film. Everywhere you look there are bot logos. Join with me now and visualize. Ahhhhh.
- George Clooney is not signed. No one is. But again, I seem to be the only person who gets that fandom wants Cullen/Welker. The ONLY guy.
For more information, and to read Don's comments in full visit his message board.

Lars Eriksson, of
NTFA, has emailed the Trans-Europe Express group about the first sightings of Alternators Swindle and Windcharger in Norway. The toys are priced at 249 NOK each and were spotted in a Brio store in Molde.
Another interesting tidbit, was that the Brio store has Cybertron's basic
and deluxe assortment listed with a release date of week 31 (i.e.
the first week of August).

The IDW related news that has come out of Auto Assembly was...
1. Andrew Wildman has been intalks with IDW, but presently is not onboard for any of the comics. He's personally interested in working on the Gen1 title with Simon Furman.
2. Soundwave will not be appearing for at least a little while in the IDW comics.
3. Soundwave's alternative mode si yet to be decided. The only sure thing is that he will most definatly not be a tape deck. Andy Wildman's request is for an iPod, but as Furman explained, "that's like trying to explain Megatron being a gun".
4. Megatron's alternative mode has been decided, but they do not want to spoil it at present.
5. One of the biggest changes will be to Starscream and the seekers. Since their original forms are now out-dated, they have be bought up-to-date with military hardware.
6. The humans will be younger than Spike, and they hope to drop the target age bracket by one slot to try to bring onboard new fans.
7. Simon will be trying to stay away from any 'big epics' in the first few stories, to try to help pull in the new readership.
8. They still hope to pick up WW3 once the legal stuff settles.
9. Simon knows nothing more than the rest of us with regards to the new movie, but does visit Don Murphy's website to stay up-to-date.
We hope to have some sample video clips form the Q&A session available over the next few days.

AA2005 today broke the record for the number of attendees to a European Transformers Convention, with 406 registrants in total. The venue proved much more popular than the previous years Auto Assembly, and the event ran extremely well. We hope to have a more indepth review later.
