Due to launch before Christmas, these cardboard cutouts will stand at over six feet high and will feature exclusive artwork by Simon Williams, and coloured by Jason Cardy.
Helen Simm from CardboardCutout.net comments on the range; "When considering the first range to produce as a license-holder, we chose TRANSFORMERS as it has a massively broad appeal: fans and collectors, as well as 80s nostalgists not to mention the new generations discovering the massively popular toy range!"
An official launch of the products is due soon, but CardboardCutout.net were keen to announce they will be unveiling how the cutouts will look at this weekend's Auto Assembly (4th & 5th June '05), where you'll also be able to register your interest.
"The range will be a Limited Edition" says Helen. "If this run goes as well as we anticipate we will be looking to extend the range. Dinobots, anybody?"
CardboardCutout.net is the UK's only specialists in life-size cardboard cutouts and you can find out more about them at www.cardboardcutout.net.. You can email them for more information, or to have your say, at transformers@cardboardcutout.net.

Several trademark submissions by Hasbro were published for opposition yesterday, by the USPTO. Among them was the mark for
Transformers: Cybertron. Interestingly the only mark that was not updated to this status yesterday, but was stil updated, was for
Sludge. The update was confirmation that the trademark submission had been extended for the fourth time. You can view of the updated trademarks, along with the rest of the 353 we have listed, in our TF Trademark section,
here.

Press Release from
Auto Assembly
AA2005 Final Guest Update
Sadly Lee Sullivan won't be able to join us at Auto Assembly this year due to unforseen family commitments. However, we do have an item for the auction signed by him and he will be back with us for Auto Assembly 2006. However, we do have a surprise....
Also, because of staff shortages, Maximum Entertainment have just informed us today that they will not be able to make it this year. However, we will be still filming Auto Assembly 2005 ourselves (and we are still looking for volunteers!) and hopefully the edited footage will be used on the RiD box set appearing later this year. They are going to be sending some items along for us to give away as prizes though.
Geoff Senior To Attend Auto Assembly 2005!!
Transformers comic legend Geoff Senior will be making his first Auto Assembly appearance this weekend! He will be around to sign autographs and will be taking part in the comic panel at 1:00 pm

Auto AssemblyAuto Assembly 2005 Pre-Bookings CLOSED!!
We have now closed the pre-bookings for Auto Assembly 2005 as we are in the final packing stages and getting ready to go over to the Clarendon Suites so we can't process any more bookings properly! If yuo have already pre-booked, your confirmation slips have been posted and should be with you in time for AA2005 if you have not already received them.
We do still have around 100 places available for those of you planning on coming along on the day, but we would advise you all to get here early to get a good place in the queue as once we hit the cut-off point, we will not be able to let anyone else in! On-the-door prices are £10 for adults and £7.50 for children, students etc.
If you have pre-registered and not received your confirmation slips by the time you leave to come along you will need to ensure that you bring the following:- PayPal order confirmation (including the transaction ID), proof of personal ID including address (such as mobile phone bill). If you don't have either of these, it could delay your admission into the event.
We're looking forward to seeing you all this weekend!!

Seibertron have a lengthy update from Metrodome regarding their future TF: Movie and Headmasters releases :-
Transformers The Movie - Reconstructed' will be released on 29th August 2005. We're going back to the original picture negative and doing a brand new telecine. It will be 16:9 Widesceen Anamorphic, but will have curtains as the viewable image is 1.33:1 and 1.78:1 and it changes scene by scene. We wanted to give the fans the maximum possible Transformer image. Everything the laminators drew will be visible and this will be the first time anyone, anywhere would have seen the whole movie in its original form. It should be quite something.
There is no convenient way to refer to this non-standard format of film transfer. However the process we applied can be described thus:
35mm film has a native aspect ratio of 1.33:1.
This particular 35mm negative had been shot by several different animators using various size gates, therefore the framing is inconsistent.
In order to respect the full film frame and place it within the wide screen video format of 16:9, the telecine was set-up to create an anamorphic transfer which results in a side curtained 1.33 image within a 1.78 ratio.
Due to the inconsistent framing within the negative the image size changes from shot to shot.
The resulting master preserves the entire field of potential viewable negative.
"'Transformers Takara Headmasters' will be released in a 4 disc box set on 26th September. This will have brand new English subtitles and the original English dub so you can watch it in whatever way you want."
Metrodome has also informed us that both Takara Headmasters and Transformers: The Movie - Reconstructed will be Region 0 releases. This means there are NO region codes on them and you will be able to play them on any DVD-player!
