The Hollywood Reported has the
following article stating that Metrodome will be releasing Transformers The Movie in a cinema in London,
LONDON -- U.K. indie Metrodome Distribution said Friday that it will
launch a limited release of the 1986 animated film "Transformers: The
Movie" in the British capital.
The distribution banner said it plans to open the film
for an exclusive two-week theatrical run in one theater in London's
West End beginning May 4.
The move aims to cash in on the "high level of
interest from fans of the Transformers brand in anticipation of this
summer's Michael Bay blockbuster," Metrodome said.
And the piggybacking doesn't stop there. Metrodome
also said it hopes that the theatrical run will help publicize the
release of the double-disc DVD of "Transformers: The Movie -- Ultimate
Edition," which hits shelves June 4.
The DVD includes a remastered widescreen edition of the animated movie, Metrodome said.
Both releases are scheduled ahead of Paramount
Pictures International's release of the much-anticipated live-action
version of "Transformers" in U.K. theaters in July.
"Transformers" was the highest-rated animated series of the 1980s in the U.K.

Update: Michael Bay's website has now
confirmed the story in an article called Hugo Weaving/Megatron.
The
SectorSeven.org website has been updated with the following message:-
"From: S7 Department of Network Security
Subject: Counter-Information Campaign
Date Received: Mar. 23, 2007 21:14(MST)
To: Agent Alexander Powers
CC: Agent W. Snup
Operation: Hungry Dragon 2 continues. As of today, Agent H. Weaving has
officially convinced S.S., M.B., R.O., AND A.K. to assign him to
oversee the Megaman issue. The recording will commence immediately.
All the years of investment into Agent Weaving's public persona have
finally paid off. He will monitor the campaign from the inside and
report on its progress free from suspicion.
By this summer, the population will think N.B.E.S. are nothing more than a figment of someone's overactive imagination.
Our power lies in our secrecy."
This can be accessed by using the password of "NBETWO", an anagram of "new bot".
The name Megaman is used in the IDW Movie Preview comic by humans to refer to Megatron when he's first found.
SS, MB, RO and AK are of course the initials of Steven Spielberg, Michael Bay, Roberto Orci and Alex Kurtzman.
Hugo Weaving is best known from his role as Agent Smith in The Matrix Trilogy.

Roberto Orci and Alex Kurtzman have posted their goodbyes on
Don Murphy's Message Board, signifying the end of their work on the Transformers Movie.
"
Our involvement in Transformers is finally coming to an end. As such, this will be our last 48 hours on this forum. From now on, anything you want to say about Transformers will have to go through the official site if you want it to get to us.
Alex and Michael Bay and I have been re-writing and making the movie as good as it can be until the last possible minute. We are almost out of time. We think you are gonna like it.
Alex and I want to thank Don Murphy and Tom Desanto for having the original instinct that Transformers could be a live action ground breaker.
We especially want to thank everyone on this board, who informed and challenged our thinking all along the way, and who participated in a cutting edge experiment in fan interaction.
All the best,
Bob and Alex".
Thanks to Seibertron for the
original report.

Following on from the
update earlier, in which we have added both Simon Furman and Andy Wildman's blogs to our In The News page, Simon Furman stopped by to let us know about some changes on Wildfur.
WILDFUR IS CHANGING
The Wildfur site has now been streamlined and updated to make it easier to
navigate and more accessible to fans. As well as the regular Wildfur news
page, the site now links directly to the personal blogs of both Simon Furman
and Andrew Wildman (and the Draw The World Together charity site). So, for (semi-) regular news/updates on Transformers, other comics/animation projects, personal appearances, stuff for sale and the like, go to www.wildfur.net and follow the links...
Cheers
Simon

There's been some coverage in the news this year, and at the back end of last year, regarding new Transformers apparel and various forms of clothing. Well this is nothing new, of cause, and Sven Harvey (of Autobot Assembly fame) has a small
website covering a few of the old pieces of Transformers clothing.
Why not have a look at yet another unusual part of the Transformers franchise.
