Transformers Movie News The Transformers Lunchables website, by Kraftbrands, has been updated with bios for the Transformers Movie characters, written by Orci and Kurtzman, with nice detailed pictures of the robots. There is also a nice interview with Industrial Light and Magic in there as well.

UK readers may have recently seen adverts for Dairy Lee Lunchables. They have confirmed they will not be bringing the Transformers to a lunch-box near you.

Here are the bio's though:-

Autobot leader Optimus Prime(R) has dedicated his life to defending the innocent, battling Megatron(R) whenever he threatens defenseless planets anywhere.

His motto: "Freedom is the right of all sentient beings."

He uses his skills to heal and repair - which are the same to Autobots - to improve the world around him and, if necessary, to fight.

Of all Autobots, he is the most powerful and wise.

He is powerful enough to destroy just about anything but tries to use nonviolent means to defend those around him.

He is constructed with a polarized, magno-dipped tungsten casing, which can protect him against nearly any attack.

His enhanced neural pathways and full sensory net allow increased multi-aspect sight and hearing abilities and reduced reaction time.

He can lift 4,000,000 pounds - that's almost as much as the Space Shuttle.

His fist exerts a force of 12,000 pounds per square inch.

His communications disk antenna provides a link between Optimus Prime(R) and all his fellow Autobots within a radius of 50 miles. It can be adapted to a satellite hook-up that increases its effective range to 500 miles.

Whenever freedom is threatened, Optimus Prime(R) is an unstoppable force and a mighty defender of justice and what is right.

Decepticon leader Megatron is a destructive tyrant bent on total domination of the universe and all its resources; he is the most feared and powerful leader in the history of Cybertron.

His motto: "Peace through tyranny."

Love, compassion and mercy are words that have no meaning for him; the mere sight of his snarling face is enough to break the spirit of most Autobots.

Of all the Decepticons in the movie, he is the most powerful and cunning; some say he is as powerful as Optimus Prime(R) himself.

He views Earth as one huge stockpile of metal and fuel resources and means to possess it all through the aid of his fellow Decepticons.

He will stop at nothing in his drive to possess the AllSpark cube and conquer the universe.

His strength comes from a subsurface tri-polymer musculature and his intelligence is aided by photon-neutral cranial sensors.

Despite his size, he moves incredibly fast; he can shift his form so quickly that, to human eyes, he seems to disappear.

Ironhide(R) is the oldest Autobot and probably the toughest and most battle-tested.

His favorite saying: "High tech circuitry is no replacement for guts."

Although he's the slowest Autobot, his skin is made of a trithyllium-steel alloy injected with irradiated carbon fibers, giving him immunity to most forms of attack.

He is the least vulnerable of the Autobots.

He is usually in charge of safekeeping anything or anyone of importance, and acts as Optimus Prime(R)'s personal bodyguard.

He has a battle recorder that records events in case he is damaged beyond repair.

He is equipped with sonar, radar, and a radio wave detector.

Ruthless and capable, Starscream(R) makes no secret of the fact that he wants to replace Megatron(R) as leader of the Decepticons.

His motto: "Conquest is made of the ashes of one's enemies."

He is an advanced strategist and considers Megatron(R) to be an inferior mind.

Even though he's one of the most dangerous warriors ever to grace the skies of Cybertron, Starscream(R) is still something of a coward.

He is one of the fastest flyers of the Decepticons, reaching speeds up to Mach 2.8.

He can climb to sub-orbital altitudes or drop to near-ground level in mere minutes, making him particularly effective in surprise attacks.

He has unique fuel intake valves that let him function longer and move more quickly using less energy.

Due to necessary conditions of his construction, his nose-dives often overload his gyro-circuitry leaving him briefly disoriented.

Since he can get up to 1.8 times more use out of a unit of fuel than the next most efficient Autobot, Bumblebee is often called upon at times of low energy resources.

He is useful as a messenger and a spy; he can go where other vehicles would not dare because he does not look threatening.

He idolizes the bigger Autobots, especially Optimus Prime(R) whom he thinks of as a big brother.

His visual ability rates tops of all Autobots: he can spot a 10" x 10" object at a distance of 48 miles on a clear day.

More than anything, he wants to be accepted and this sometimes causes him to take chances he shouldn't.

He is so skillful that he has never been captured.

Decepticon Frenzy is one of the smallest Decepticons, standing only 5 feet tall in robot mode.

His motto is "Sow panic and surrender will bloom."

Though small, he loves to fight and feels his purpose is to battle.

He serves as a relay station among Decepticons and command central.

He is able to see radio waves.

Causing chaos has earned him the respect of his fellow Decepticons.

He has onboard heat regulators different from other Decepticons so that his smaller mass can distribute heat more efficiently.

Microreceptors in his chest allow him to hear sounds that other Transformers would never catch, making him a unique surveillance tool.

Autobot Jazz(R) has an extensive knowledge of Earth culture and always wants to learn more. This makes him the indispensable right-hand robot to Optimus Prime(R).

His motto: "Do it with style or don't bother doing it."

He is very cool, very stylish, and very competent.

To confuse his enemies, he creates dazzling, disorienting sound and light shows.

He is versatile, clever, daring, but easily distracted.

He has near-perfect recordable memory that makes him invaluable as a documenter of battles.

He is able to disconnect his fear receptors when innocents are in danger so he can better protect them.

He is equipped with a fusion engine that allows him to reach sub-light speeds in vehicle mode.

Blackout. His motto is: "He who cares for the opinions of others is lost."

Aggressive and independent, he doesn't care what anyone else thinks about him.

He follows his own path and is primarily concerned with seeing some action and staying true to himself.

He is especially unwilling to take orders that he doesn't agree with, even if they're in his own best interest.

He is physically powerful and nearly as heavily armored as Ironhide(R).

Since he is designed to transport during critical missions, his outer casing scatters surveillance and radio waves.

He possesses an advanced sensor array that he uses for tracking and locking on to targets.

Since he often follows his own internal code of honor, he may fight against his fellow Decepticons if challenged.

Transformers Comic NewsThe following was posted on Simon Furman's blog:

The schedule of events (as relates to me anyway) for this coming Saturday's Bristol Comics Expo has now expanded to include a signing at the Titan Books/Magazines table. Also confirmed for the signing is Geoff Senior (and Steve White will be around too, hopefully with more news about the TFUK magazine). I'll be packing a bunch of (photocopied) original scripts from Transformers (Marvel US) #80, on sale (signed if you so wish) for a mere £5. The full schedule for the day (Saturday 12th May) is now:

12 noon - 1PM: Titan signing (at the Titan table in the main dealers room)
3PM - 4PM: Draw The World Together signing (at the DTWT table) with Andrew Wildman.
5PM - 6PM: Talking Transformers panel (at the Ramada Park Suite), with Andrew, Geoff and (hopefully) others.

For full details of venues, etc, go to the official Comics Expo site

Older NewsMany many thanks to Duck Star for submitting the following news story.  It's an interesting video, if if just for the mispronuciation of Tomy (pronounced "toe-me" not "tom-me" - lol), and the misinformation that "Takara-Tomy is a new brand from Nike :-)
Hi there Weird bit of news that I don't think anyone would have seen unless you are a school child or a teacher.

Some Schools have this thing called Espresso in school, its got video clips and a weekly news show. I was watching it with my class yesterday and was amazed to see the Tomy Transforming trainers on screen. They had images of a girl transforming megatron.

Not sure if its news, but it is interesting. I've uploaded the clip to youtube, as only school can see it normally. Cool to Transformers being shown to kids. Check it out.

Transformers AnimatedThe new series has a good deal of talent onboard, including Sam Register, exec producer of Ben 10, Hi Hi Puffy Ami Yumi and Teen Titans; Vincent Aniceto, line producer (Foster's Home for Imaginary Friends, Power Puff Girls); and Marty Isenberg, head writer (Danny Phantom, A.T.O.M., X-Men, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles). In addition, Derrick Wyatt, character designer for smash hit Teen Titans, will take the role of lead designer.

The new 2D style that will be the show's trademark harks back to the original 20-year-old cartoon, but according to ER, the new Transformers has a different audience in mind.

That's just part of the quote on C21 Media which The Allspark found earlier today.
