The official TRANSFORMERS Movie novel is on sale wherever books are sold! Read an excerpt below.
"911 Emergency."
"My car's being stolen," he yelled toward the phone. "Like now, like I'm on my bike chasing him right now. I'm behind him and I can still see him. Get the cops!" "Yessir. Appropriate steps are being taken even as we speak, sir. Sir, do not approach the stolen vehicle," the operator warned him. "The driver could be dangerous."
Sam gaped at the phone. "Ya think?
Get me some help!" He looked up to get his bearingsjust in time to see
that the Camaro had braked at a stop sign, almost immediately in front
of him. He didn't slam into
the rear bumper, but he did hit it hard enough to end up on the ground,
the bike lying on its side and spinning its front wheel. The car took
off again. Only slightly bruised, determined and undaunted despite the
911 operator's warning, he picked up the bike, climbed on, ascertained
that it was still functional, and resumed pedaling madly. Throughout it
all he had never let go of the cell phone.
| |
As
if to remind him of the fact, and of his resolve, the emergency
operator's voice sang reassuringly out to him from the tiny speaker.
"Sir, sirwe're trying to trace your call. Are you all right? Sir?"
At
the speed he was going he needed both hands to steer. "Cops. Now," he
barked at the phone before sliding it, still on, back into his jacket
pocket. He didn't need to make small talk in order for the police to be
able to trace him. He needed all the wind he could spare to keep
pedaling.
In smaller communities, industrial and commercial
centers are not as far from residential areas as they are in a great
metropolis. Still, the chase had covered enough ground so that by the
time the Camaro busted the lock on the gates to the old cement factory
and materials storage yard, Sam was pretty well winded. It was a relief
when the Camaro entered the yard and finally slowed down. Hopping off
the bike, he stowed it carefully out of sight and followed the car on
foot. Disappearing briefly behind a slow-moving train, the Camaro
emerged a few moments later. For the first time since it had awakened
him and pulled out of the family driveway Sam had a good look at the
front of the vehicle.
There was no one in the driver's seat.
As
he tried to digest this impossibility, arguing that surely he had not
seen correctly, that it had been a trick of the darkness, the car
cruised slowly around the corner of the abandoned factory. He followed
with care, making sure to keep out of sight while bearing in mind the
emergency operator's warning. The driver could be dangerousexcept
there was no driver. That, he reflected a little unsteadily, could also
be dangerous. To his state of mind.
It got worse when the car, its outline muddled by distance and darkness, appeared to change its shape and stand up.

As we reported yesterday, the artwork for the UK Transformers posters has been sent for approval. At present there will be three UK posters two of which have already been seen. The first is "Protect and Destroy", the second unanmed one is the International Movie poster just with the UK release date of 27-07-07 at the bottom and the third, and as yet unseen poster is called "Spheres".
As metioned the artwork for Spheres is in the process of being approved and hopefully will be made public shortly.
The creative department at Paramount Pictures, both within the US and Internationally are all now fans of the Transformers, having been converted by the enthusiasm shown by Michael Bay and his crew and have been trying to show this newly discovered passion in the concept for the movie posters and tv-spots, hence all the unsual names that have been attached to them.

Hasbro's Press Company, Hunter PR, have been sending out promotional packs to various media and Transformers Fans sites (US only) to help advertise the Transformers Movie.
TFWorld2005,
Seibertron and
TFormers all received the kits, and all have various images and information on them.
Before you ask, no we don't expect any other Hasbro office to be offering a similar promotional pack. Hasbro UK especially are remaining very tight lipped about Transformers in general.

Titan Magazines have sent through the following extract from a recent interview with Transformers writer Simon Furman
Q. For newer Transformer fans, describe your involvement with Transformers over the past 20 years, and how you came to be involved in the new Transformers UK comic.
A.I first started writing Transformers back in 1985, in issue #13 of the UK Transformers comic (published by Marvel). Since then I've written hundreds more UK stories, plus issues #56-80 of the US Marvel Transformers series, Transformers Generation 2 #1-12, various convention and exclusive comics, Transformers: The War Within (volumes 1 & 2), Transformers Armada/Energon #6-30 (both for Dreamwave), Transformers Infiltration #1-6, Transformers Escalation #1-6, Transformers Stormbringer #1-4, Transformers Movie Prequel #1-4 and Beast Wars The Gathering #1-4 (all IDW). Plus, the final episode of the Beast Wars TV series ('Nemesis pt2') and various books, including Transformers The Ultimate Guide and You Can Draw Transformers. It's got so now I tend to be the first port of call when there's new Transformers comic material in the offing, and that was certainly the case with Titan's Transformers UK comic when they wanted new strip to tie in the summer blockbuster Transformers movie. I guess I'm just the 'go-to' guy when it comes to giant battling robots .
Don't forget you can find out more information on the new UK Transformers comic by visiting
