Win Tickets to see the Transformers Movie on 22nd June in London
Transformers At The Moon and Paramount Pictures UK have teamed up to offer you this once in a life time opportunity to attend an exclusive FDA Multimedia Screening of the Transformers Movie a month before it's official UK release, and week before its worldwide release.
You'll be attending an invite only screening, not open to the general public, on the 22nd June. Paramount Pictures UK are keen to offer the hard-core Transformers fanatics an opportunity to see this truly amazing film first, way ahead of the UK's belated release date, and so they have teamed up with us to give you this amazing opportunity. They want you to see the film, love the film and then help spread the word for its official UK release on the 27th July.
Here are the details:-
Transformers Movie Screening Friday 22nd June.
Doors open 17:30 for an 18:30 start.
Security will be high, hence the hour's "check-in time".
Final location is not named, although it is assumed it will be in the Odeon West End in Leicester Square. (Will announce the finalized details once Paramount have them).
Entry to the film is free, although you'll have to pay to get there.
No electrical equipment (cameras, phones etc) is allowed in the screen. You'll have to leave these outside of the screen (you'll get a token to pick them up afterwards).
UK Press will be in attendance (this is the first UK press screening of the film).
We have 8 pairs of tickets to give away, if demand is sufficient enough, Paramount have said they will try to increase this number.
Just email us your name to transformers@themoon.co.uk
There's not long until the showing, so we'll be closing the competition on the Sunday the 17th at midnight, so get emailing.
The winning names will be picked at random and will be announced early next week. The competition will close on Monday morning (00:01) on the 18th June giving us enough time to send Paramount the details so you are added to the guest list.
There will be some stipulations. The event will have very tight security, so make sure you get there with plenty of time. Reviews of the movie are not allowed to be published before the 28th June as their is an embargo in place, however you can post comments online afterwards and I will be creating a special thread in our forums just for that so I can send Paramount Pictures the feedback.
We'd like to thank Paramount Pictures for giving the UK Transformers fans an opportunity to see the film before it's general release.
Again, to enter the competition simply email your full name (plus that of a your guest) to transformers@themoon.co.uk to be entered into the draw.
This competition is open only to the residents of the UK and Ireland as it is a 'thank you' from Paramount UK for the support and excitement that the UK fans have shown towards the movie. So get entering and good luck.

In a report into the UK toy market (available here for &eruo;774 (electronic) or &eruo;950 (hard copy)), the UK toy industry is now valued at £2.16bn. "Total sales have increased annually since 2002, although growth levels have been relatively low" the report states.
The report breaks the toy market into nine product categories.
infant / pre-school toys and games
Activity toys
Outdoor and sports toys and games
Games / Puzzels
Dolls
Action Toys
Vehicles
Plush toys
Other products
The report states that several factors have had a strong effect on the market including the UK birth rate falling annually from 1996 until 2001. Since 2001 that figure has reversed, and the birth rate is back on the increase. In terms of UK child populatation, this trend led to a fall in the total child population between 2002 and 2006. However the under-5 age group increased in number over the same period
The report does highlight, however, that this is not the greatest concern to the toy suppliers that falls to the KGOY (Kids Getting Older Younger). As a result of this, traditional toys are being abandonded at younger ages in favour of PC and console games, mobile telephones, fashion and a wealth of alternative products. To try to combat this trend, suppliers have been focusing on producing more engaging toys, adding in more electronis features, including fashion elements and introducing websites with interactive elements. Some groups, as the report states, are not looking outside of the child markets and looking to aim ranges at an older audience. It quotes Hornby and Games Workshop as two such organisations. Here's a quote "Collectability is also regarded as a way ot target higher spending amoung adult buyers. In addition, 'retro' products have looked to appeal to parents rather than children, as witnessed by the revival of brands such as Raleigh". Licensed products rosed wthin the UK by 10% in 2005/2006, mainly due to supermarkets, to £2.2bn, however Woolworths remained the most significant supplier of licensed products in the UK.
Here are some more quotes "Toys and games are an international business with global brands. Most of the major companies source and distribute internationally so that they can benefit from economies of scale (not only in terms of costs but also with regard to marketing). The two largest toy companies are Mattel and Hasbro, both of which are in US ownership. These companies operate across most sectors of the toys market and own major brands such as Barbie, Action Man, My Little Pony and Fisher Price. UK-owned companies tend to be smaller in scale and include groups such as Vivid Imaginations and Hornby.
The presence of large international groups in the traditional toys and games market has allowed a high level of investment in brands and products. Established names have moved into new formats, such as DVD board games. The cross licensing of names from the media has also been an important source of new products, from Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles to Roary the Racing Car.
Many brands and products have seen a rise in electronic content to more effectively target an increasingly sophisticated demographic. The use of interactive websites to encourage brand loyalty and interest is also developing.
The toys and games market has limited scope for growth in the current competitive children's market. However, the existence of strong brands and established companies in the sector is a positive indicator."

Japanese Toy Hoby Market website has listed a limited pre-order for Transformers Movie Fast Action Battler Frenzy. The toy appears to be listed as an import US version and is listed for 3150 yen. Another image of the toy has also been added, here, to the TakaraTomy website.
The TakaraTomy lifestyle website has been updated with a Transformers Movie section. The area currently focuses on the Optimus Prime and Bumblebee toys, much like Transformers.com, showing them transform. The website contains little text, but what is there is subtitled into English as well as Japanese The other wave 1 Transformers Movie toys are also featured but only as still images of the toys in both robot and vehicle mode.
