Last night we went to watch one of the regular preview showings of the Transformers Movie in our local cinema. This was the fourth time Dave had seen the film, and third for Steve, though the people we went with had not seen it before, nor would be described as Transformers fan .. like you or I. Although we'd seen the film several times before, we'd always planned to watch the film in our local cinema, to see what people's reactions would be. I'd even told
Lorenzo Di Bonaventura my plans on seeing the film again (something I usually don't do with films at the Cinema).
Anyway the showing was on at 20:20 and was sold out, luckily I'd pre-ordered, though the queues in the cinema went out the doors! Once we eventually got in we had to sit in the 3rd row, far left, but boy was I happily surprised by people's reactions. Your average Joe, who went to the cinema, clapped the film at the end. I was shocked, I've only seen this twice people at a normal screening, and goes to prove how good, and how popular, the film really is.
Blooper Note:
In addition to the other
Transformers Movie Blooper which I've already report, about Bumblebee's door, here's another Bumblebee related blooper I found yesterday.
When Bumblebee is first seen in robot mode, going his Batman signal, this left arm is a gun. Throughout the film, and on all packaging, the gun-arm is actually Bumblebee's right arm.

Actoys have
images from the Chinese Transformers Expo 2007, mainly of some event which took place. It's interesting to see the cosplayers at Transformers conventions, more then at the BotCon event.

I've just uploaded our review of the
Titan Magazines Transformers Issue 1 comic. There are three stories include in the comic, a new pre-Transformers Movie comic, IDW Transformers Movie Prequal and IDW Beast Wars The Gathering.
It will take them a while to finish reprinting the stories, so a little bit of jiggling around with the format may have to be done (maybe increasing the stories, and decreasing the number of competitions / letters pages). All in all I really liked it, especially the Geoff Senior artwork. Although we own the two IDW stories already, once they are finished it will go onto IDW material we don't own, which will be good for us. If you're not bought it, go out and do so, as it can only improve if people buy it.

We've made some modifications to our Transformers In The Media section, to try and makes things a little easier to find. We've now broken down our Transformers Comic section into three distinct areas.
- Transformers Comic Covers - Cover scans of the Transformers comics
- Transformers Comic Reviews - Reviews of the Transformers comics
- Transformers Comic Images - All other images from Transformers comics (inc. press releases)
So if you're after Transformers Comic covers then go to that section, if you're after any other images from Transformers comics, examle artwork, advertising, promotional material, then look in the Transformers Comic Images area. If you'd like to see a review of a Transformers comic then go to the Transformers Comic Review area, it couldn't be more simple.

As per a news story earlier in the week, the Transformers Movie has started showing in some UK cinemas this morning, from 00:01, and then every few hours from 09:00 until 23:00 on Sunday. After that you'll have to wait for Friday 27th official full release.
It will be interesting to see how the film does in the UK, with both Harry Potter already out (with the latest book on sale today) and The Simpson's coming out on Thursday / Friday (which has a lot more in-cinema advertising). Current box-office takings, as per Box Office Mojo, stand at $389,120,786.00 (242 million state-side and 146 million dollars international (with South Korea the second highest grossing with 38 million. The UK is, on average, around 3-5% of the US takings, so it could add around another 12 million dollars to figure. The film is likey to end grossing around 450 million (with other countries yet to have the film) putting it above Spider-man (1,2 and 3).
It's interesting to note that Transformers is listed as the No.1 film in the following countries:
- Lithuania
- Russia
- Turkey
- Ukraine
Harry Potter is No.1 in 36 territories.

Nelson, site admin of Michael Bay's blog, Shoot for the Edit,
updated his site confirming some information regarding the Transformers Movie DVD.
The Transformers DVD...when does it come out you ask. What's it
gonna have? What I can tell you is this: there will be 2 versions:
1- A regular version with no extras (just a director commentary).
2.- A multi-disc version with the movie w/ director's commentary and additional disc(s) with tons of extra stuff.
Transformers will also be available on HD-DVD and Blu-ray formats.

Simon Furman has updated his
blog with information regarding Titan Magazines' UK exclusive Transformers Comic issue 6.
"Here we go again, and this time the topic for discourse (in as
spoiler-free a way as possible) is Transfomers (UK) #6. This issue
wraps up the first story ‘arc’, though as I’ve mentioned before each is a self-contained, single character-led entity. Here, the focus falls on Jazz, the last of those ‘lost in space’ after events in issue #2. I had two distinct things to accomplish here: one, present a story that draws out Jazz’s unique personality (like his G1 equivalent, he’s a culture vulture and wishes to experience as much universal diversity as possible), and two, bring the Autobots together again for a rousing, all guns blazing finale.
The first, main strand revolves around a planet that seems too good to be true (and, of course, is), and its
parasitic like effect on Jazz, who’s decided to hang up his guns for
good as the story opens. This one also features a Cybertronian
flashback and a guest star or two, one of which does appear in the
movie, one of which doesn’t (but is in the toy line).
The second strand involves the efforts of Ratchet to reunite with his comrades-in-arms,
but will he and Ironhide be in time to save Jazz… from himself? This
won’t be out until late November/early December, but trust me, it’ll be worth the wait.
No word yet on artist. Keep an eye on whatever discussion thread this blog entry engenders. Once I know more, so will you!"
