Every now and then members of AcToys post images of their Transformers collections, as well as other items they collect. Yesterday was no different with member Cyclonus posting images of his Transformers and Gundam collections. The interesting part of this are the sheer number of fake / knock-off Transformers, mainly G1 and some which you may not have seen before (purple Grimlock).
It's worth having a look at.

The SDCC exclusive toys are on Hasbro toyshop, $24.99 for Rodimus and $14.99 for Menasor. Alternator Rodimus has already sold out, but there are Titanium Menasor's still available.
Unfortunatley the store only accepts US addresses, so if you're not in the US you'll have to rely on eBay.

The folks at Cybertron.ca have a discussion thread concerning a scam running through Walmart chains in Canada, at Keele and Lawrence. The scam consists of :-
Scammer buys a Voyage Transformers figure
Scammer replaces the toy with a large jet fighter, placing Decepticon stickers on it
Scammer returns the toy to the store of a refund
The item is placed back for sale
It's very similar to scams shown on The Real Hustle, so be warned.

I contacted Argos regarding the Optimus Prime Voyager and Bumblebee Deluxe Value Pack (Argos Exclusive), item number 370/6002 to find out when the item will be released. I also asked for information on the case breakdown of their Voyager and Deluxe cases. Unfortunatly they consider the breakdowns to be sensitive information, even though their customers will have to ask if they wish to choose which item to pick up, however they did tell me that the Optimus Prime / Bumblebee value pack should be available around the middle to end of September.

As promised we can now bring you some figures on how the Transformers movie performed at the UK box office over its opening weekend. The good news is that Transformers debuted at number 2 in the UK box office charts taking in £8.6 million (that's over $17.2 million in US money) a figure that would normally have meant that the film would have debut at number 1. Here's a quick round down of the top three films.
1. The Simpsons - £13 Million ($26 Million)
2. Transformers - £8.6 Million ($17.2 Million)
3. Harry Potter - £TBC
When comparing Transformers to The Simpsons remember that the Simpsons opened three full days ahead of Transformers within the UK (due to advance screenings) and is only 80 minutes long where as transformers is 2 hrs 24 mins), meaning that cinema's can have two showings of the Simpsons whilst showing Transformers only once. The Simpsons also opened in 40 more screens across the UK.
All-in-all, the opening weekend for Transformers performed extremely well, and was originally predictted as debuting at number 3 in the charts behind both The Simpsons and Harry Potter. In the United States, The Simpsons also debut at number one, beating the Transformers opening weekend, but not the opening three days that Transformers was on general release.
Thanks to Paramount Pictures for above figures and for all the help that they have given us over the last year.
