To help celebrate the festive season, we've updated our Transformers toy image gallery with a few new additions, mainly the items we were given for Christmas, but also a few other random bits.
The gallery for Transformers Collectors Club Exclusive Terradive currently does not feature any vehicle mode photographs, as I forgot to transform the toy.
The four Knock-Off Transformers, from Korea, are based on the European / Japanese exclusive toys from the end of Generation One. The packaging for the toys will be added later.
These updates take us closer still to the 2,000 mark when counting the number of Transformers toys featured with out Transformers toy image gallery area, now consisting of 1,988 Transformers toys, 1,871 galleries with 3,620 Transformers toys entered into the database (we know we are missing some of the later items).
The update included just under 300 new photographs.

A quick reminder to everyone that the Transformers Animated movie will air today on Cartoon Network in the USA. Videos of the episode will undoubtedly find their way onto youTube within a few hours of the airing. Canadian fans have to wait a few more days to see the show broadcast over their networks, whilst the rest of the world have to wait. What we do know, thanks to our sources, is that several international broadcasting deals have already been signed as interest in the series has been high. More on this in the coming weeks.

Snakas has published another round-up of the information in this months hobby magazines that were released in Japan over the last few days. For those that can not understand Japanese, we have published a brief summary below
Figure King 119
There is an article discussing Trans-Scanning Optimus Prime, in particular it discusses how the gimmick works. A image of a prototype is included in the article.
There is a comparison between the original Sky Lynx figure and the upcoming re-issue. Snakas points out that some of the detail, especially on the interior and around the eyes show the the Encore edition have more detail.
Images were shown of Transformers Henkei (the Japanese Transformers Classics line) Optimus Prime, Megatron and Bumblebee. All of the figures were shown to be more cartoon accurate than the western release.
The four AllSpark figures will be released in Japan in February. Images are shown of the toys along with the AllSpark toy itself.
There is yet more confirmation that the Masterpiece Starscream USA edition figure, when release in Japan, will be switched back to the Japanese mold where the tail finds were a slightly different shape to their US release.
More information was included on the green Transformers Encore Emergency Ratchet as well as the Revoltech Starscream and Hot Rodimus.
Finally there is a note that more Star Wars Transformers figures will be released in Japan in 2008
Dengeki Hobby (Blitz Hobby) - Feb issue
Again more comparisons and images on the Encore Skylynx toy, though they are not as detailed as the Figure King article.
Dengeki also includes the images of Transformers Henkei Optimus Prime, Megatron and Starscream.
More images of the Transformers Movie scene figures are shown.
There is an article and more images on the e-Hobby black Ironhide as well as the Revoltech figures and Star Wars Transformers.
Japanese Transformers Movie Incinerator
Snakas notes that going by the images published within the two magazines, and comparing them to the recent eBay auctions for Transformers Movie Incinerator, it appears that the Japanese version of the toy will be a different colour. The Japanese figure is much closer to the the Ospreys that appeared within the live action Transformers Movie, not only in their colour scheme, but also in the number on the side of the helicopter.

Simon Furman has updated his blog both with a Christmas message for his readers as well as a present in the form of a downloadable script of Transformers Beast Wars Shell Game, issue 1. The story was to tie into the Summer Special Beast Wars story, published by Dreamwave, but never came to be. Eventually the story was reformatted (pardon the pun) into Beast Wars The Gathering.
You can find the article and script here.
