Auto Assembly have sent out a press release announcing just what out involvement in AA2009 will be this year ...
Auto Assembly Press Release
Auto Assembly 2009 Hosts Worlds Largest Lucky Draw Display
Each year, Auto Assembly has seen a display of rare "Lucky Draw" Transformers from the vast collection owned by Steven and David Mapes, webmasters at Transformers At The Moon which has attracted a great deal of attention at each convention. Now, as part of our celebrations for the 25th Anniversary year, Transformers At The Moon will be doing something rather special for their display at Auto Assembly 2009...
This year they will be bringing their ENTIRE collection of Lucky Draw toys to the convention to form their display, which will feature well over 40 toys showcased. This will be the largest single display of these toys - and other rare items - ever collected in one place and many of these have never been seen at Auto Assembly before. This will be your only opportunity to see so many of these rarities in one place and there will be so many that the display is having to be split over the weekend so to see them all you will need to be at the convention for the whole weekend!
There will be well over £60,000 worth of toys on display and this is a unique opportunity for die-hard collectors everywhere to see these toys. For more information, and details on some of the highlights of the display, visit the page on the Auto Assembly website here: http://www.autoassembly.org.uk/AA2009LuckyDrawDisplay.htm or visit their website at http://www.luckydrawtransformers.com
You can also find a provisional programme for the convention on the Auto Assembly website, along with details on many other activities taking place over the weekend. For full details on Auto Assembly 2009 and to book your tickets, visit the website at www.autoassembly.org.uk

Although
I wasn't at liberty to say it before, the song I've been referencing
here on mikeshinoda.com in the past few weeks...is actually being done
for Michael Bay's new Transformers film, due out June 24th.
In
addition--and probably ever cooler--we have been offered the unique
opportunity to help score the film. The song we wrote is being used as
one of the themes, and we will be writing various interpolations on
that theme, and trying out some other thematic ideas as part of the
(very large) team scoring the film.
My bandmates and I are
working with award-winning film composer (and resident ass-kicker) Hans
Zimmer. We met with Hans last week, and heard some of the incredible
things he and his guys have done with our new song. In the next few
days, we'll be doing some work with Hans' amazing writing and recording
crew.
Michael Bay has shown us select scenes from the film, and it looks incredible. I can't wait for you to see it.

In an interview with UGO Movie Blog, Transformers co-writer Roberto Orci is reported as to saying that Frank Welker will be voicing Soundwave in Transformers Revenge of the Fallen. Frank was expected to be announced as voicing several characters in the tie-in computer game but had recently suggested that he would not be voicing anyone in the live action film.
Take the news with a pinch of salt just incase wires have become crossed, but it does sound like Mr Welker will be picking up his G1 Soundwave role for the second live action movie

Snakas has posted some information on the June issue of Dengeki Hobby Magazine that is now out in Japan which I have summarised below.
The Transformers Revenge of the Fallen figures are shown with the first figures due for release on the 30th May.
The distribution campaign Micron figures are shown )they are also shown in this months Figure King magazine). To qualify for the figures you need to spend 3,000 yen or more, though Snakas points out that the information is rather sketchy.
The Design Wave concept images are shown with no character names being given.
Alternity Megatron is listed by this magazine as having a release date at the end of June, though Figure King reports the release of the toy as closer to the middle of that month. The Super-Convoy black version is mentioned but no images were shown.
Finally a new book is announced in the magazine, Transformers / Revenge Book.

Its been a good first quarter for Toymaster stores across the UK and R.O.I with sales being reported as flat or actually increasing despite the global recession. Many industry analysts are calling this the "Woolies factor" referring to a decrease in high street stores now selling toys resulting in smaller independents actually have an increase in customers and sales.

Blown away by the talented painting of fellow artist Sabrina Ng and her custom Transformer auctions, we got in contact with one another. We decided to collaborate our skills, talents, and passions to bring you this "Anniversary Edition" Devastator custom Transformer. It was built by me some time ago, and he was shipped and took a little vacation in Singapore. While there, Sabrina painted and gave him her magical touch. Devastator was then sent back the the United States where I did some minor engineering updates, installed the electronics and took his photos.
Also important to note; this auction has been planned to launch at a specific time since several weeks ago.
There will be several bonus items added throughout the auction.
I'd also like to give a huge thanks and props to Ptitvite for the inspiration on this baby.
