TRANSFORMERS: PRIME
Debuting later this fall Hasbro in conjunction with Discovery

Just a quick reminder that there is just 193 days left until Auto Assembly 2010. For those who do not know, Auto Assembly is Europe's largest Transformers fan convention and will run from Friday, 13th August 2010 at 17:30 until 20:00 on Sunday 15th August 2010. This years event sees AA return to the same location as 2009, the Holiday Inn Birmingham City Centre, Smallbrook Queensway, Birmingham. You can find it on Google maps. The arrow is pointing to where the actual hotel and convention will be, as Google have the location of the Holiday Inn wrong.
The current guest list stands at:
- Garry Chalk (guest of honour)
- Derrick J Wyatt (2nd guest of honour)
- Liam Shalloo
- Simon Williams
- Guido Guidi
- Simon Furman
- Kris Carter
- Jason Cardy
- Kat Nicholson
If this wasn't enough, a third guest of honour is still in the works, plus you will have toy dealers, panels, Q&A, evening entertainment and so much more.
If you have never been to a Transformers convention and live in the UK we urge you to attend the event. If you are unsure because you do not know anyone that's fine, you will not be the only nervous person there and you'll be going to an event where you already have something in common with 95% of the people there ... an interest in Transformers. So whether you want to go to buy some toys, meet the guests or meet up with fellow Transformers enthusiasts there is something at Auto Assembly for everyone. The event is close to car parks, a train station, not to mention a comic shop :p. So come along and say high. We're easy to find, just look for the two guys who look the same.
Please visit the Auto Assembly website for more information and to pre-register (being a non-profit event pre-registration is very important as it helps the keep track of how many guests can be afforded) and don't forget to drop by the Auto Assembly Facebook page.

Toyz and Gamez have posted some listing for the upcoming Transformers Power Core Combiner figures, which includes the names of the upcoming figures. We all knew about Huffer and Caliburst but the larger robot that comes with Chopster (the figure that was recently shown) now has a name .... Smolder. That's not all though a third set has also been named as Searchlight and Backwind. You can view the original post here.

Thanks to NinjaCyborg for posting a round-up from the British Toyfair on our message board.
Transformers selection was clearly visible through the booth window so I
don't see why I shouldn't report what I could see. Not like I signed an
NDA or anything.
A lot of the display was current releases - ROTF scouts, HA Bumblebee, Leader Prime.
On display, but not on general release yet, was:
Leader Starscream, ROTF Bludgeon
and more importantly from the new stuff was:
WFC Optimus - looked bigger than deluxe, more like Voyager size
WFC Bumblebee - awesome vehicle mode, and even more awesome, metallic gold paint/plastic
Universe
Seaspray - ultra sized I think, since it was bigger than ROTF Bludgeon
that it was next to. Looks just like a huge version of the original
Same blue and white and yellow for the turbines. Very nice.
Some new
G1 style legends - I think I saw a jeep, Outback maybe? or Swindle?, It
was khaki coloured but the view from the booth window was too far to
see the smaller toys
Some kind of combiner - could have been power
combiners, but looked to me more like it was built from Legends sized
figures - and it was definitely not Devastator. One of the legs looked
like a jet or shuttle of some kind. Could be a Legends Bruticus set?
Was very lanky and with wiry limbs, but humanoid in shape.
'Leader' ROTF Bumblebee or whatever it's going to be called
Also visible through the Hasbro window was some Marvel Universe stuff, but nothing new and no Iron Man 2 that I could see.
Also saw the A-Team figures on another booth. Not bad likenesses of the new actors. Still hate Neeson as Hannibal though.
Funny that Mattel or Mattel distributors are totally absent from this fair. No wonder you can't find Avatar toys anywhere.

This is a quick warning to those who may think the Gold Beast Convoy on ebay, sold by eToysHunter/HeerosToyMaker, is one of the original, and extremely hard to find, Gold Beast Convoy figures which featured in a Prize Campaign by TV Magazine, it isn't.
This is the third of the fake Gold Beast Convoy's which has been seen, out of a probably 5 to 15 of them. Please bear this in mind if you decide to bid on the item.

Thanks to Genzhao for pointing out that we have become somewhat lazy and have not updated all of the galleries and news story on both Transformers At The Moon and Lucky Draw Transformers which are related to chrome figures to clearly state which are official items and which are fake. We are sorry for this, any of you that spoke to us at Auto Assembly last year regarding the figures that we had on display would have learnt about some of the fakes as well as how to spot them. We have posted various comments on a few message boards around the globe over the last year on fake chrome items as well as making some references to them in news stories on our own websites. We are going to try to run through all of our own news stories and galleries to try to ensure that it is much easier for you to tell whether the items are genuine or not.
We originally planned to have three dedicated toy gallery section on the last revamp of www.luckydrwatransformers.com one to official items, a second for known fakes and a third for unconfirmed items. Unfortunately due to time this did not happen, but it is something we will look into introducing in the future.
For quick reference there are known fake lucky draws of the following figures:
Gold Henkei Convoy (the most common). There are at least three variants of the fakes including the one that we own.
Gold Henkei Galvatron (loose variant) - The loose toy with the orange parts is assumed to be a fake. you can compare it to our carded version within that gallery
Gold Beast Convoy - We do not own this toy but at least two fakes are known to have been produced and sold last year. They had no weapons, were chromed in the same darker chrome as the fake Henkei figures (a much darker chrome than the chrome Takara were using in the 90s when the Beast Wars Lucky Draws were released). The toy is a chromed over reissued and not the original Primal / Beast Convoy figure.
Gold Encore and 25th Anniversary Convoy - There are boxed and un-boxed, long and short smokestack variations of this toy. It was produced in 2008 / 2009 by HeerosToyMaker / TinTinHappy. The toy is a custom chrome figure. Again much like the above toys, the chrome is the darker "orange" and distributed by the same sellers.
Silver Henkei Convoy - Again made by Heero. You can see through the silver to the base figure.
Silver Protoform Optimus Prime - Also made by Heero, this toy is one of the better fakes
Silver G1 Convoy - We purchased this toy back in 2004/2005, showing it off to the public for the first time in 2006 and then later on this website. Its a fake.
Silver Binaltech Smokescreen - We do not own this toy but found the pictures online. It is another custom
Silver Chrome Soundwave - From the same source as all of these figures. This tyo was produced back in the early 2000s and is believed to be fake.
Silver G1 Starscream - Though the source of this toy is unknown and there was talk about official chrome figure during one of the BotCon rarities panel, we believe this figure is a fake. What is for sure is that it is not a Lucky Draw item
