Nelson has posted on Shoot for the Edit once again with another update on Transformers 3
Nelson here...
I arrived at the Chicago Michigan Ave. set on Friday, July 16th. I was
greeted by Mike Case (Bay's assistant) and was taken to Bay's monitor
tent which was in the middle of a war zone. Michael greeted and
proceeded to ask some things about the site. He then took out his iPad
and showed me animatics of some sequences. Holy moly. This movie is
going to be huge!!! In my opinion, more epic than TF2 with the first
time amazement of TF1. I wish I could tell you what I saw on the
animatics, but I can't.
Bay was filming a scene with Shia (Sam) & Rosie (Carly) in which
they were hiding within a wrecked and flipped car. At around that time
the temperature hit 102 degrees (including humidity index). It was so
hot that Shia was sweating through his leather jacket and as was Rosie.
Back to the scene... apparently the scene is one in which a Decepticon
is hunting for them. As Bay filmed this, a cue from the score was played
to add to the suspense.
As the crew broke for lunch, I met Lester Speight (Coltrane on Gears of
War) and went on to lunch with him. He was very nice and delightful.
Later, I got to meet the rest of the cast: Shia, Rosie, Tyrese, and
Josh.
I had the pleasure of talking to Shia for for about 30 minutes and with
Tyrese and Josh for another 30 minutes. All these guys have an
impressionable work ethic, are fun to talk to and down-to-earth people.
And that goes for the rest of the crew. I many many nice and
professional people that are working their hardest to make this movie
successful and entertaining.
As the day came about, Bay, Shia, Tyrese & Josh all came to meet
than fans that had been waiting since 7am to catch a glimpse down the
street. They also were interviewed by CBS 2 TV in which Bay praised the
city of Chicago.
As always, Bay left the best for last. Explosions and gunfire!!
That's it for now. I will post a video of some of the activities later.
Enjoy."
Previously it was believed the name Rush was that of the Ferrari, but in fact it was the name of the street in which it was parked

Bryan Baugh has updated his DeviantArt page with the announcement that not only will be be at SDCC but that he has been working as a storyboard artist for Transformers-Prime.
"Since
February 2010, I have been working (as a storyboard artist) on a new
animation project that has been kept super top secret. But I can now
confirm that the show I've been working on all these months is:
TRANSFORMERS PRIME. There will be a discussion panel about this show at
San Diego Comic Con, on Thursday, July 22nd.
...So there you go... Don't ask me any questions about it cause that's
pretty much all I am allowed to say at this point! If you want to know
more about the show - get yourself to SDCC and attend this panel! And
before you even ask, no I will not be one of the people onstage at the
panel answering questions. As a humble storyboard artist I am just one
of the many little cogs in the great big machine. But I'll certainly be
in the audience and I hope some of you guys will be too.
Later, gang!

Jim Sorenson has updated his blog, The Disciples of Boltax, with comments regarding his and Bill Forster's appearance at Auto Assembly 2010.
I've got some news that I find incredibly exciting. This year, both
Bill Forster and I have been invited to Auto Assembly, Europe's
largest Transformers convention. As I haven't been to England since
2006, I'm extremely excited to get the chance to go back and mingle with
the terrific fan community out there. In addition to hanging around
and making a nuisance of ourselves all weekend, we're tentatively
planning to use our time on Sunday to give a brief presentation on some
behind-the-scenes artwork from various generations that hasn't been
published before, before shifting to a traditional Q&A session.
Other great guests include Derrick Wyatt, Garry Chalk, Scott McNeil,
Simon Furman, Nick Roche, Guido Guidi, and many more. This looks like a
must-attend convention if you're native to the British Isles. If you
were at all on the fence about coming to this con, I strongly urge you
to preregister now, as the spots are filling up quickly and there's no
worse feeling than having to turn someone away from an event like this.
I have to extend my warmest thanks to the convention organizers and
especially to Steve and David Mapes
from Transformers
At The Moon for making this happen. I love smaller conventions,
so it really is quite an honor to be invited. AA at AA... feels like a
natural fit, doesn't it?
Following on from the blog update of Jose Lopez, David Hartman has annouced his involvement with Transformers Prime on Deviant Art
I've disappeared from posting stuff for quite awhile now. I have been
working on a very tight-lipped show as both the supervising director
and art director. Well I am now allowed to announce that the
show is...
TRANSFORMERS PRIME
...for Hasbro
studios. I can not answer any questions now but I will speaking at a
panel at the San Diego Comicon along with character designer Jose Lopez
and executive producers Alex Kurtzman, Bob Orci and Jeff Kline. Please
come by and check out the new show we have been working so hard on. Here
is the panel info...
Thursday, 4:30-5:30 Transformers
Prime— The talent behind Transformers Prime -- executive producers
Roberto Orci, Alex Kurtzman, and Jeff Kline -- the new animated series
from Hasbro Studios, showcase exclusive footage and character reveals
followed by a Q&A session. This original series will premiere in
2010 on the new television network The Hub. Room 7AB
This
will be the one day I am at the con and will not have a table this year
so please come by and introduce yourself after the panel or if you have a
copy of my artbook I would be happy to draw a zombie in there.

Here is a copy of the latest Auto Assembly 2010 press release.
Auto Assembly 2010 Announces More Guests!
We're less than four weeks away from Auto Assembly 2010 but that hasn't stopped us from adding even more to our line-up to make this the best convention we have ever put together...
We are now proud to announce the addition of TWO more guests to the convention in the shape of Jim Sorenson and Bill Forster, writers of the Allspark Almanac and it's newly released follow-up! Making their European convention debut, they will be on hand all weekend to meet and talk to fans and sign autographs and they will be taking to the stage on the Sunday to give a presentation and take questions about their work on what is considered to be one of the best Transformers books released for years.
Their appearance at Auto Assembly 2010 has been made possible thanks to the incredibly generous sponsorship from Steve and David Mapes from Transformers At The Moon (www.transformertoys.co.uk) and means that the convention will have THREE major Transformers Animated guests this year, and all of them will be on stage in turn on the Sunday. If you have even the slightest interest in Transformers Animated, you won't want to miss this year's event!
That's not all though, adding to that the convention exclusive edition of IDW's Transformers Issue 9 with an exclusive cover by Nick Roche and Liam Shalloo, a concert by Garry Chalk, a live script performance featuring Garry Chalk and Scott McNeil from a BRAND NEW script written exclusively for the convention by Simon Furman, a Saturday night disco and karaoke with singing by Scott McNeil, dealers, 13 confirmed guests with talks, autographs, competitions, workshops, displays, and a video games area showcasing 25 years of Transformers video games... could you ask for anything more?!
The convention is taking place over the weekend of Friday 13th - Sunday 15th August 2010 at the Holiday Inn Birmingham City Centre, Birmingham, England. There will be Friday and Saturday evening programmes that are exclusive for weekend attendees and the Saturday evening will play host to a massive musical party, costume competition, and the script and disco / karaoke. And we still have lots more to announce...!
We have frozen the ticket prices for the convention from Auto Assembly 2009 and full weekend tickets are £45 for adults and £35 for children, students and senior citizens, with under 5s admitted free. Family tickets (2 adults and 2 children) are available for £145.
One day tickets for Saturday have sold out, but one day tickets for Sunday are still available and cost £25 for adults, £18 for children, students or senior citizens and under 5's as always are free. However as they are limited, if you want to come along for just the day then you need to book NOW!
Because of the rate that bookings are coming in, and the popularity of the one-day passes last year, we cannot guarantee that single day tickets will be available to purchase on the door and it is looking likely that we may not have ANY on-the-door places available for the full weekend so pre-registration this year is a must!
For more details on the convention, to see a full list of all the guests and activities taking place over the weekend, or to book your tickets, visit the website at www.autoassembly.org.uk
Hi everyone!
Comic-con is just around the corner and this year its arriving with a big Bang! Late last year I started designing and art directing characters for the new TRANSFORMERS - PRIME show and we finally get to share a very cool sneak peek of what we got in the works. So please come to the panel, hang with us and let me know what you think of our new show. I'll post more info as I'm permitted but trust me this is truly an all star team.
Also I'll be at my regular spot Table H9 in the small press area sharing my table with the amazing John Nevarez. Stop by and say hi, don't be shy, ask people around, I don't bite I believe John doesn't either, so you really have no excuse. I hope to see you there.
I'll be back with more info.
Stay with us or our Transformers Prime sister site www.transformers-prime.com over the coming weeks and months as more on the next Transformers series is announced.

Have you got your ticket pre-registered for Auto Assembly 2010 yet? No? Shame on you, you better get cracking as the latest two guests have just been announced. Yes that's right in an interview with TFW2005.com Auto Assembly's own Simon Plumbe announced to the world that both Jim Sorenson and Bill Forster, authors of not only both Allspark Almanacs but also the wonderful Ark Compendiums which showcase the design art for much of the original series will be attending Auto Assembly 2010 right here within the UK.
There appearance at the event is sponsored by this very site. Yes you read that right, Transformers At The Moon and TransformersAnimated.com not only are we bringing over Derrick J Wyatt but also both Jim Sorenson and Bill Forster!!
So if you are a fan of Transformers Animated this is the event to get to. If you don't like Transformers Animated but you liked the Ark books, this is the event to go to. If you don't like that either but you like Beast Wars, this is still the event to go to (Garry Chalk, Scott McNeil). If you liked, and you know you did, the IDW Wreckers mini-series, once again Auto Assembly 2010 is the event to go to as Nick Roche will be there. So what are you waiting for, head over to www.autoassembly.org.uk right now and book a ticket before they sell out.

TFW2005.com member davieanix has posted a sighting of the second wave
of the Powercore Combiner 5-packs at a K-mart store in Geelong, Victoria,
Austraila. The second wave includes Double Clutch with Rallybots and Mudslinger with Destructicons.
The Aus release means that a US release will probably happen within the next few weeks with a UK release in a month or so since the Wave 1 figures are doing the rounds at the moment.
With the Tokyo Toy Fair almost over, Japanese blogger ?????2010 (Alfes2010) has posted some more images from the event. The images include Lucky Draw Gold Optimus Prime, as well as Welcome to Transformers 2010 Primus. Also included on his blog are images of Masterpiece Movie Starscream and a Transformers Animated Bumblebee Cosplayer.
