Auto Assembly has sent out the following annoucement
Hi everyone,
In
light of the recent, saddening news coming from various cities around
the UK, the Auto Assembly Committee has been flooded with questions, as
you might imagine. Our response has been purposefully delayed and
carefully considered - we are sure you will understand that we are faced
with a unique situation and we wanted to take the opportunity to
consider every possible eventuality.
To anybody who doesn’t
know, there have been reports of isolated pockets of civil unrest in
Birmingham. West Midlands Police have confirmed they will have a very
large Police presence on the streets tonight to ensure that they
continue to calm the situation. Like everybody in the UK right now, we
are thankful for the great job that the Officers are doing at present in
such difficult circumstances.
Nevertheless, we are pleased to
announce that as things stand, Auto Assembly 2011 will go ahead as
planned... and friends...it is going to rock! As the song goes,
“Nothing’s gonna stand in our way, not tonight!”
Now, we are
keeping a constant eye on the news and on official Police press releases
so, if this situation changes we promise we will make an announcement
the second we find out. But rest assured, we have no intentions
whatsoever of cancelling Europe’s biggest and best Transformers
convention unless we are presented with absolutely no alternative. The
show, as they say, must go on!
However - it is of the utmost
importance that all our convention goers please bear a few things in
mind to ensure that we all have a fantastic and most importantly, a safe
convention this weekend.
1. Auto Assembly 2011 is still ON 2. Allow extra travelling time to and from the convention
3. Don't go out of the hotel alone. Try to stay in groups for safety.
4. Don't go out of the hotel after dark on your own
5. Keep valuables safe at all times
6. Be vigilant
7. Please look out for each other and be safe.
As
we say, if for any reason the situation changes we will inform you as
soon as we can, but at present Auto Assembly 2011 is ON!!!! We just
need to take extra care in looking after each other this year
Transformers fans.
Finally, remember that for those of you
arriving in Birmingham one or two days early, you can pick up your
passes on Thursday afternoon between 2:00 and 4:00 pm which will make
your admission to the convention Much easier. Trish and Simon will be in
the hotel bar on the second floor to do this but you must contact us in
advance to let us know.
Anyway, we're looking forward to seeing you all in a few days.

Thanks to Teletoon rips of the Transformers Prime Episode 21 are now on You Tube, before they are shown on US or Canadian TVs.
The episode is basically Grimlock's New Brain from the original Transformers cartoon series.
Wilst the Autobots and Decepticon's battle it out over one of the Cybertronian capsules, containing unknown knowledge, Bulkhead is enfused with the "living knowledge" giving him unrival scientific knowledge, with a cost.
With Megatron after Bulkhead's new found knowledge, the Autobots are after a way to save Bulkheads mind.
Lots of nice one-liners, mainly focusing on Bulkhead and Miko (two of the better characters), with Decepticon input from Breakdown and Knock-Out

During TFCon it was announced that, third party toy maker, TFC would be making a large scale Predacon set, well it turns out that this information was incorrect. JustIToys have posted an image and two comments on their Facebook page that confirm that the image that was shown is actually of a JustIToys project and not a TFC project. JustIToys, pronounced "Just Love Toys", are best known for making the non-official Words Smallest Transformers figures. This set, however, has been confirmed as being a large scale set. Here's what they had to say:
"tfcon made a mistake, it is our project, not TFC project, they messed up." and "Large scale, it's a combiner, but we don't want to use the names.."

Francesco Quinn, who voiced Dino in Transformers: Dark of the Moon, passed away yesterday from a heart attack whilst playing in the street in the La Costa neighborhood of Malibu, with his two sons. He was best known for his role in Platoon.

Auto Assembly sent out the following press release yesterday
Transformers Actors Rally behind Auto Assembly 2011!
With less than a week to go before the Transformers event of the year, it’s
decision time - are you going to join us in giving a thunderous farewell to
the Holiday Inn, in it’s final year as AA central?
We’ve done all we can to persuade you – we’ve told you about our room full
of Transformers dealers, our guest panels, exclusive giveaways, our unveiling of
new and never before seen video game information from Jagex... we’ve even told
you that Hasbro will be in attendance this year to add a final shine to what is
certainly going to be the biggest and most phenomenal event we have ever
hosted.
But still, with just four days until pre-registration closes, some of you
are undecided... so how about, rather than taking our word you listen to what

high places!

More images of the just released fake gold Masterpiece Convoy (Optimus Prime) have been posted on Taobao. The figure is a painted win a matt gold finish rather than being chromed in gold so it is easy to tell the difference. Another difference is that the genuine Gold Masterpiece figure comes with a transparent axe and have gold plastic joints.

TakaraTomy and Uniqlo have released an image of their UT Megatron T-shirt which will be available at their Harajuku store in Tokyo Japan. The official TakaraTomy page also includes an image of an uncoloured, or possibly recoloured, Optimus Prime that you can see the image below.
Fun Publications have updated there DeviantART account with a series of images and bios for some unreleased, and in most cases un-produced, figures. The toys include a Transformers Cybertron Red Alert repainted, with a new head, as First Aid, a Beast Machines Noble/Savage made up as Fangry and the head sculpt for Nexus Prime. The images also additional concept artwork along with pages from the comics.
Recently a 3rd party company released concept images of a head of Menasor for the Botcon Transformers Animated Stunticon set, well Derrick Wyatt has gone one better and, thanks to Twitter, has shared his vision of what Menasor would look like with the world, and as you would expect its a million times better than the G1Uppers version. The Entertainer have sent out an email announcing that they have updated their website with some new Transformers: Dark of the Moon figure. The Dark of the Moon listings page can be found here and include a variety of toys from the Leader Class Ultimate Optimus Prime through to the Cyberverse figures.
Fun Publications have sent out the following email regarding them now selling off spare stock which include this years Transformers Animated Botcon set. Here is a copy of the email
"We have a
very limited number of BotCon items that were left over after we
finished shipping and replacing all of the problem pieces. We keep
items in reserve in case they are damaged in shipping. However, these
BotCon items are the last of the last so when they ship, we will not
have anything to replace them with if there is a problem. We have
checked these items to make sure there are no factory mistakes.

Mr Welker's movies have grossed a whopping £7.9 billion ($12.8 billion) at the box office. He beats out Samuel L Jackson who is 2nd on the list with £6 billion ($9.78 billion dollars).
