Transformers Interviews and Articles

e-Hobby have posted a new article in the e-Hobby Magazine Transformers Museum section about the e-HOBBY Exclusive City Commander Galvatron II figure.  The article, which is available in English as well as Japanese, thanks to long time Transformers fan and e-Hobby employee Hydra discusses the figure as well as his secret 5th phrase.

The figure is one of the few e-Hobby toys we do not currently own, we did but we sold him on right away before we could photograph him, but you can still use this site to compare the toy to the original Galvatron, a testshot of the G1 toy (with different crown) and the anime coloured version.

Transformers Convention NewsFor Roll Out Roll Call 2 one of the big stars for the show was the exclusive limited edition Kraken Bio Armour.
As part of the build up for the 2012 show, we'll be trickling out a few hints regarding some of the exclusives ahead of revealing them.

Again these will be limited and will be available on a first come, first served basis for those who advance purchase their tickets.

Transformers Toy News

Thanks to Full Metal Hero member Baltmatrix for posting a video review of the KO TOYS Dial and Zaur

When I first laid eyes on this set I had to have it. As a G1 fan I have been lusting after these guys for years but have never had the desire to part with the $200.00 asking price for the originals. I thought that this would be a great way to get the set for cheap. Sadly, this set is not worth the $40.00 asking price. $10.00 or $15.00 yes, but no more than that.

Transformers Convention News

The geek-fan event known as "Squirtle-con 2011" took place yesterday in the Cambridge area of England.  The one-day fan event featured your usual convention activities such as toy trading, a video games area, episode screening, social discussions and lots of food and drink.  The event also saw two exclusives per attendee that went down a storm with everyone in attendance.

When trading slowed down at the event most of the attendees could be found popping to a local Tesco's store to pick up more items.  My brother himself picked up most of the Thundercats 2011 figures in a mad collecting spread.

Final attendee figures are still be collated, but the event was universally deemed a huge success with representatives from the UKs two biggest fan sites Transformers At The Moon and Full Metal Hero both strongly supporting the event.

Pictures from the event till no doubt be doing the rounds on Facebook (other social media sites are also available).  You can read about the hauls of some of the attendees on our message board.

I'd like to thank the organisers and attendees for a great event and I look forward to the next one

Transformers Toy News

Nevermore has put together an interesting article on Starblight called From drawing board to store shelf: The development of a Transformers toy

... the first part of a multi-part article series in which I (Nevermore) will attempt to explain the development process of a Transformers toy. As my basis for this compilation, I use various materials which have made their way into the fandom one way or another over the years, for example via Japanese sourcebooks or BotCon presentations. In addition, there are various details which have come up from Q&A rounds with Hasbro at BotCon or as part of the (discontinued) Q&A program for fan sites. In some instances, I also use information gathered from conversations with (usually former) Hasbro employees.

If this article interests you then make sure you come to Roll Out Roll Call 2012, as there are several panels on this type of content.

Transformers Convention News

Two more LA-based guests announced for Roll Out / Roll Call 2012!

We're 16 weeks away from Europe's largest combined G.I-Joe / Action Force and Transformers show Roll Out / Roll Call 2012 and it is with great pleasure that Transformers At The Moon can exclusively reveal the names of two more guests for the show.

The pair are long time fans of both Transformers and G.I-Joe / Action Force and will be making only their second appearance at a European Convention.  They are well known within the fan communities of both franchises as well as generally being two of the nicest and most interesting people you could meet.  Have you guest who they are yet?

That's right, the guests are none other than Jim Sorenson andd Bill Forster, writers of the both the Allspark Almanac books, the Ark Books (all three of them) and most recently Allspark Almanac Addendum (published within issue 6 of the Timelines comic that re-printed The Stunti-con Job).  Jim and Bill will be on hand all weekend to meet, great, sign, and generally hang out with fans of both shows as well as taking to the stage over the weekend to give a presentation and take question on both Transformers and G.I-Joe.

Jim and Bill were extremely popular guests when we bought them over for Auto Assembly 2010 and we have been keen on bringing them back to the UK for another show.  At the same time they are both as keen, if not more so, to come back to the UK and meet up with everyone again and so brings us all great pleasure to have them back on these shores for a show that covers not just Transformers but also G.I-Joe, a series that both these men care about.

So if you were unsure whether to attend Roll Out Roll Call 2012 in Southampton next March, then I hope that this announcement will convince you to attend the event and support it.

Roll Out / Roll Call 2012 is the UK Fan Show Convention dedicated to Transformers, Action Force & GI Joe which will be taking place over the weekend of the 10th-11th March 2012 at Southampton's largest hotel, Jurys Inn overlooking East Park.  It will be the third show for the event and is organised primarily by Dave Tree of All The Cool Stuff.  Everyone helping out organise and promote the event is very proud to welcome some very special guests from the world of Transformers, Action Force & GI-Joe including Larry Hama (1st UK show), Simon Furman, Andrew Wildman, Robert Atkins (1st UK show), Jon Goode (1st UK show), Jim Sorenson and Bill Forster.  There are still at least three special guests to be announced, so stay tuned to the websites at the bottom of this announcement for all the latest news.

There will also be special presentations and panels on the toys, comics and cartoons from special guest presenters, plus in addition there will be show exclusives and trading affiliates, who will be attending the show with a host of the latest, and in some cases, unique range of merchandise.

Tickets will be on limited availability, so please book in advance to avoid disappointment. Tickets will go on sale soon.
