Transformers Works - Gari Robo Cola Edition - Information
The Gari Robo toys are some of the more strange, licenced Transformers Products, released by Takara Tomy for the Japanese market. First Nike teamed up with the toy manufacture resulting in the Sports Label transforming shoes. This was quickly followed up by Toshiba and the Device Label line (working USB sticks, mice and USB Hub). After this came the Capbots, Gari Robos (transforming lollipops) and transforming pens.

Transformers Works - Gari Robo Cola Edition - Toy Review
We love these bizzare Japanese sub-lines of the Transformers franchise, and longed for a Gari Robo to add to our collection. So when Dave saw one in Mandarake in Nakano Broadway in Tokyo he decided now was the time, and purchased the cola edition figure.
After bring it back to the UK he thought this was a cool (no pun intended) toy, well marketed with the box looking like a gari icream wrapper. He was suprised to find the bag inside the box mirrored the box and the acutual product (having eatern a custard gari lolly himself a few days earlier). The inner bag is a zip bad\g, meanign you don:t have to rip it open - something he was afraid he would need to do - so that was a bonus.
Having taken the toy out of it's paking to photograph he wasn't expecting much, but was pleasently suprised by not only the quality of the design (the stick is amazing), the quality of plastic (far greater than those Transformers toys made for the 2014 market) and even more shocked that the transformation was actaully quiet detailed.
Traditionalists will hate the concept of the toy, and fans of articulation will cry, but there is something about Gari Robo that is really appealing. It may be the same appeal tht the watch robos have on us, but Gari Robot is a fun toy. His lolly stick becomes a sword, part of the actual lolly becomes a sheld and he has a mini gari lolly for the figure to hold, and head.
Articlation includes moving arms, rotaing wrists and a moveable top lip, allowing you to reposition what Gari Robot is looking at, and allowing him to suck on the lolly.
If you like bizzare Transformers then get one of these. There are three regular toys, Cola, Grape (purple) and Tasberry (blue) along with two limited versions (gold and silver). They are a perfect toy for the summer
