Transformers Animated - Motormaster - Toy Review
The toy for Motormaster is a redecoed Voyager Class Transformers Animated Optimus Prime figure with a new head sculpt. The choice of the using the Optimus Prime mold was met by a wave of negative reaction throughout some area of the online Transformers fan sites. Many people believed that the Wreck-Gar toy
should have been used, though personally only ever expected the Optimus Prime toy to be used as a Motormaster figure. Both Derrick Wyatt and Fun Publication have both confirmed that Optimus Prime
was always going to be used for the figure, and that they hadn't even considered using the Wreck-GAr mold. They did look back at the mold after fans suggested it, but decided that it didn't fit
with the character. During the TFCC Panel at Botcon 2011, it was revealed that Motormaster is based on a hybrid of wrestlers Hulk Hogan (for the look of the face) and the late Macho Man Randy Savage for the character.
